If the ethical rules were followed, Comey's attorney would NEVER be allowed to rep Comey because he's a potential witness.

 

Of course, this occurred many times over in the HRC investigation, so I don't expect the real rules to be followed.

Yep, that's why Cheryl Mills was able to trample all over HRC investigation. What's astonishing is that it is 100% against the rules. In most courtrooms, the opposing side would take the matter to the Judge to have the attorney disqualified.

In normal, law abiding courtrooms, the lawyer wouldn't be insulated. You cannot further a criminal conspiracy with your attorney and later claim privilege.
