6 nukes left Minot AFB, and only 5 arrived in Barksdale. Rumor is, that other one was to be dropped on Charlotte, NC. It was, instead, dropped about 100 miles east of Charlotte, in the ocean, and detonated. Russian seismologists reported an earthquake that matched a Nuke detonating.

Nukes are pretty easy to detect, or so sources say. There is even a helicopter that can detect the emissions of one. (Source: me looking up what kind of funky helicopter was hovering 50 feet in the air, pointing at my house a while back).
