COVID-19 'outbreak' reported at Rhode Island hospital after officials allowed COVID-positive staffers to work

An outbreak of COVID-19 infections reportedly broke out inside a Rhode Island hospital after officials began allowing health care staff members who test positive for COVID to continue working.

What is the background?

After health care workers were fired last year for not being vaccinated against COVID-19, the Rhode Island Department of Health updated work restrictions for health care personnel who test positive for COVID.

The updated policy, which reflects guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, permit health care personnel to continue working under crisis situations if they test positive for COVID-19. The guidelines say "asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic" personnel may continue to work.

What happened now?

According to NBC News, the state-run Eleanor Slater Hospital in Rhode Island reported an outbreak of COVID-19 cases among patients after officials permitted asymptomatic staff members to continue working despite testing positive for COVID.

The outbreak has impacted more than two dozen patients, or about 14% of all patients at the hospital, WPRI-TV reported.

The hospital began using asymptomatic COVID-positive staff members on Jan. 1.

Responding to news of the outbreak, the hospital denied there was a connection between the use of COVID-positive staff members and the outbreak. The hospital, however, did not explained how officials arrived to that conclusion.

The statement said:

Questions have been raised as to whether the small number of asymptomatic staff who worked on two separate days caused the COVID cases at the hospital. The asymptomatic COVID positive workers are not connected to the COVID outbreak. Asymptomatic staff who worked Saturday and Monday worked only in the areas with COVID-positive patients, with one exception.

In the one instance, an asymptomatic staff member did work with patients who did not have COVID, but there have been no COVID positive cases reported in the area where this work took place.

Anything else?

Rhode Island nurses spoke out about the policy this week.

One registered nurse told Fox News the policy "abandoned common sense." Another registered nurse told the network she believed the new policy was "discriminatory" toward unvaccinated health care personnel, who faced consequences for not being vaccinated against COVID.

IRONY: SCOTUS Went Virtual After Triple Vaxxed Lawyer Caught COVID While Arguing Over Vax Mandate

Three vaccine injections failed to prevent a lawyer arguing against Joe Biden’s OSHA vaccine mandate in the Supreme Court from being infected with COVID-19.

Two lawyers arguing against Joe Biden’s OSHA vaccine mandate in the Supreme Court have tested positive for COVID-19.

Three injections of the COVID-19 vaccines were unable to prevent Ohio Solicitor General Benjamin Flowers from catching the virus. As a result, he will now have to make his case to the Supreme Court virtually.

Flowers was reportedly dealing with “exceptionally mild” symptoms and has recovered.

Louisiana’s Solicitor General Liz Murrill, whose vaccination status is not known, will make her case over the phone.

Biden’s OSHA mandate targets private companies with over 100 workers, requiring them to be vaccinated or tested weekly for COVID-19, despite the vaccines being unable to prevent individuals from contracting or spreading the virus.

The Supreme Court’s oral arguments over Biden’s OSHA vaccine mandate on Friday were rife with lies and disinformation about the coronavirus and vaccines, National File previously reported.

In particular, Leftist Justice Sonia Sotomayor told several lies. For instance, the Obama-appointee erroneously claimed that U.S. “hospitals are almost all full capacity” due to COVID-19 infections, adding falsely that there are “over 100,000 children” hospitalized with the virus in “serious condition” and “on ventilators.”

It is a fact that children are the least at risk to be hospitalized, and the seven-day average of pediatric hospitalizations was around 3,700 this week, according to the Washington Post.

Mainstream media outlets, along with the heads of Modena and Pfizer, are raising the prospect of a fourth COVID-19 vaccine injection as vaccinated people continue to be infected with the virus.

Is is unclear why the Biden regime would require individuals to be vaccinated, when three vaccine injections have been frequently proven to fail to prevent people from being infected.

Biden’s own Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who has received three vaccine injections, wears a mask, and a face shield, was infected with the virus last week. He to had forced all military servicemembers to be injected with the COVID-19 vaccines, despite them being unable to prevent the transmission of the virus.

New Twitter CEO has brought wave of high-profile bans in short tenure

The first few months of new Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal’s tenure have validated fears his leadership would reduce free expression on the site, critics told The Post.

Numerous high-profile accounts have been banned — including a sitting member of Congress and a virologist who helped invent mRNA vaccine technology.

“It does appear that in the last month, particularly, Twitter has ramped up the censorship of people not just on the right, but people who go against the consensus,” Dan Gainor, of the conservative watchdog Media Research Center, said.

Since Agrawal took the reins, the site permabanned one of the accounts of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for allegedly violating its “COVID-19 misinformation policy.”

“For Twitter to ban my account for what they perceive as COVID ‘misinformation’ is quite a concern, because the information I shared is actually from the CDC website,” she posted on Gettr, a GOP-friendly Twitter competitor.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) slammed Twitter’s move, and suggested that if Big Tech companies censor constitutionally protected speech, effectively acting as publishers, it should lose the protection of Section 230 — federal law which immunizes platforms from liability for third-party content.

Twitter (all big tech), if you shut down constitutionally protected speech (not lewd and obscene) you should lose 230 protection. Acting as publisher and censorship regime should mean shutting down the business model you rely on today, and I will work to make that happen.

— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) January 4, 2022

Twitter also permanently barred Dr. Robert Malone — who has widely been credited with inventing the mRNA technology used in the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 immunizations — without identifying the offending content. Malone’s posts had questioned the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

Another scientist, Prof. Michael Makris, who specialized in hemostasis and thrombosis at the University of Sheffield, had to delete a tweet on a new type of COVID-19 vaccine under development, or face a ban.

Just The News founder John Solomon was suspended for tweeting an article on the Food and Drug Administration’s statement that the fully approved Comirnaty vaccine is “legally distinct” from the emergency-approved Pfizer-BioNTech product, which is more widely available in the United States.

Popular news aggregator Politics for All — founded by Spectator social media editor Nick Moar — was also reportedly banned for unspecified “platform manipulation.”

Also booted from Twitter for good: Mystery Grove Publishing Company, a small press which publishes out-of-print books, such as the memoirs of the last White Russian commander in chief, Pyotr Wrangel.

Thought-policing is “more overt” under Agrawal than Twitter founder and ex-CEO Jack Dorsey, said Gainor, whose employer runs censortrack.org, which aggregates examples of online speech suppression.

He also noted a new “cross-functional working group” created by Twitter to monitor and censor speech around the one-year anniversary of the Capitol riot.

“Sounds pretty Orwellian,” Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters told The Post. “They don’t want people on the right side of the political aisle to be discussing January 6th.”

Masters, an active Twitter user, said he has noticed an “uptick” in high-profile bans, as well as several indiscriminate mass account “purges.”

New Mexico Detectives Unable to Touch Hamptons-Based Baldwin Are Now Working with His Local Sheriff's Department

Efforts by New Mexico law enforcement officials to pry loose Alec Baldwin’s cellphone have stepped up a notch.

Officials in Santa Fe County have reached out to those in New York State’s Suffolk County to have the phone turned over, according to the Los Angeles Times.

On Dec. 16, Santa Fe County Magistrate Judge David Segura approved a search warrant for the phone as part of the investigation into the Oct. 21 shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Baldwin’s movie, “Rust.” Baldwin is a pivotal figure, because he has said he was holding the gun when it fired, but has claimed he did not fire the gun. The gun had a live round in it but was supposed to be empty when the incident took place.

Although Baldwin has said he is “cooperating” with the investigation into the shooting, the phone has yet to be produced.

“The Sheriff’s Office does not have physical possession of the phone,” Santa Fe County Sheriff’s spokesman Juan Rios said Friday. “The phone is in New York with Mr. Baldwin.”

New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said in a statement Thursday that investigators “are actively working with the Suffolk County, New York Sheriff’s Department and Mr. Baldwin’s lawyers, within jurisdictional constraints, to obtain any materials from Mr. Baldwin’s phone that pertain to the ‘Rust’ investigation.”

The search warrant Segura issued could only be enforced in New Mexico. Baldwin has a house in the Hamptons, located in Suffolk County on Long Island.

“The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office has received a request from the Santa Fe, NM authorities requesting assistance in obtaining Alec Baldwin’s phone,” Sergeant Paul Spinella said, according to the New York Post.

“This request has been forwarded to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office to work out the differences in laws between NM and NY. As this is an ongoing investigation, that is all the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office can report at this time,” he said.

In a Dec. 16 affidavit, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office detective Alexandria Hancock said she sought Baldwin’s text messages, emails, contacts, browser history, private messages on social media, as well as his recent call list. Investigators want access to digital images, deleted digital images, passwords and GPS data from the phone.

Hancock wrote that she had “requested Alec’s phone from him, as well as his attorney, and was instructed to acquire a warrant.”

The phone had “several emails and text messages sent and received” regarding the film that she wanted to inspect.

Some experts said Baldwin could have many reasons for not complying with the warrant.

“There could be incriminating evidence on the phone, or it might be for privacy reasons,” said Kevin Kearon, a former Nassau District Attorney’s Office lawyer now a private criminal attorney, according to the New York Post.

Katie Hobbs’ Arizona 2021 Elections Procedures Manual Rejected By AZ Attorney General – AZ Will Operate Under 2019 Elections Manual Instead

Arizona will operate under the 2019 Elections Procedures Manual in the upcoming elections after Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich refused to certify AZ Secretary of State Katie Hobbs’ 2021 draft manual.

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs is running for Governor of Arizona, and she tried to make it even easier to cheat again.

In September, the Gateway Pundit reported that EZAZ, a citizen-led action group, found over 170 issues and statute violations, including provisions to allow internet connection, in Hobbs’ 2021 Elections Procedures Manual Draft.

Citizen-volunteers submitted the issues they discovered to the Arizona Attorney General for a closer examination.

On December 9, the Attorney General’s legal team sent a letter to Secretary of State Katie Hobbs in disapproval of the new manual that her office submitted on October 1.

The draft was submitted to Attorney General Brnovich a week after the Arizona audit results were presented and delivered to Brnovich on September 24th. It has been almost four months, and we have not seen or heard anything from his office.

The deadline for these changes to be made passed on December 31, and Hobbs did not correct the issues. Arizona will now run its 2022 elections under the 2019 Elections Procedures Manual.

EZAZ founder Merissa Hamilton tweeted her congratulations to Arizona and all volunteers who stood up to fight for election integrity. Hamilton also thanked The Gateway Pundit for our extensive coverage of the stolen 2020 election.

ScoMo's top adviser John Kunkel fled Simon Niven's Rio Tinto

After Phil Gaetjens left Scott Morrison's office last month to become the (then) Treasurer's departmental secretary, he was succeeded as ScoMo's chief of staff by John Kunkel – the economist and a one-time senior adviser in John Howard's Cabinet Policy Unit would've spent Sunday moving back into the Prime Minister's wing.

Before returning to Canberra, Dr Kunkel (for a doctor he is, Gerard Henderson) served as deputy chief executive at the NEG-friendly Minerals Council of Australia. Subsequently, though – and here's where it gets interesting – he ran the government relations function at Rio Tinto, toiling under bungling group executive Simone Niven.

Presented with Jean-Sebastien Jacques' now infamous edict to either "fit in or f— off," Dr Kunkel evidently opted for the latter, departing in May. Barely three months later, JS and Niven have themselves a recent refugee of their poisonous FIFO corporate culture as one the – if not the – most powerful political staffer in Canberra, right as Rio Tinto pivots its white collar operations dramatically towards Australia because JS' wife (retired French yummy mummy Muriel Dermarcus) quite likes it here. Were Rio a sitcom, it'd be worthy of an Emmy.

JS claimed in March that before his glorious reign began at Rio, "lots of people were talking about performance culture but very few people were doing it". And, "to restore the pride of [Rio's] people and unless the positive energy" he is now "assessing leaders based on performance indicators from safety to employee engagement"

As we revealed in March, Niven's staff is collectively, overwhelmingly dissatisfied. Her Corporate Relations division was polled for the quarter ending December 31, throwing up a Net Promoter Score (reached by deducting detractors of the company from its promoters) of minus 38. Yet JS then paid Niven £1.061 million ($1.86 million) in 2017, awarding her 62.2 per cent of her maximum short-term incentives.
