The Minnesota National Guard will operate the new community testing sites. They add to a host of testing options statewide, which include at-home saliva testing.

Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan said providing equitable access to tests is essential to combating the latest surge in cases.
โBy collaborating with the National Guard, Minnesota schools, and community groups, we can make sure more Minnesotans can receive testing when they need it,โ Flanagan said in a statement.
Minnesota is now recording roughly 5,000 new coronavirus cases per day and test-positivity rates are expected to continue to climb. The state is currently reporting the results of about 40,000 tests per day on average.
The stateโs rate of new cases is almost certainly an undercount because not everyone gets tested and at-home rapid tests are not tallied by the state.
