I remember when the SR-71 details were made public, I was blown away by the technology and how advanced it was.
It was only years later that I realized that if this was no longer secret whatever they had to replace it was much more advanced.
What did they have back in the mid 80s that made that plane obsolete?
What do they have now?
It's difficult to even speculate.
