Kazakh Leader Says Order Restored: "Coup" Thwarted & 164 Killed - 8,000 Arrests

On Monday Kazakhstan's largest city appears to be returning to some semblance of normalcy with government security forces having the streets firmly under control, following a week of deadly protests sparked by a fuel price hike but which quickly targeted the country's rulers. At least 3,000 Russian peacekeeping forces are also on the ground, after President Tokayev had dubbed his crackdown operation as 'counter-terrorism'. Elsewhere, anti-government protests are entering their second week.

Internet access has now returned to parts of the country, including Almaty, as the mainstay of the riots appear to have been quelled. The Washington Post describes on Monday: "For days, the streets of Kazakhstan’s largest city smelled of burned rubber tinged with the acrid stench of stun grenades. Inside their homes, people huddled, fed by rumors in an unnerving information vacuum from a cut Internet and limited mobile phone service — all accompanied by the steady pop of overnight gunfire."

As of Sunday CNN reported at least 164 dead following the week of unrest, and the latest figures say almost 8,000 have been arrested by Kazakh security forces. The Interior Ministry on Sunday said that 16 police and national guard had been killed, with some 1,300 security officers injured in the violent protests.

In a Monday statement the Interior Ministry cited a total of 7,939 people arrested and now in detention amid the riots which saw government buildings torched and streets turned into battle-zones with running gun battles.

"I think there was some kind of a conspiracy involving domestic and certain foreign destructive forces," Secretary of State Yerlan Karin announced on state TV Monday, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, President Tokayev called the past week the "the worst crisis in the history of its 30-year independence" following Soviet rule. He described the events as an "attempted coup" in a virtual address to fellow members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

"Armed militant groups, who had been waiting for their turn, came into action," he said. "The main goal has become clear: to undermine the constitutional order, destroy institutions of governance and seize power. We are talking about an attempted coup d’état."

He alleged this included "foreign militants" having entered to country to fuel the mayhem, however, he didn't point to specific evidence of this. Tokayev then turned to thanking Russia for sending the bulk of peace-keeping forces to help restore order to the country.

Ukraine Pushes US Senators To Vote For Ted Cruz's Nord Stream 2 Sanctions

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is to get a vote this week on a bill to sanction Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The pipeline is a key way for Russia to ship energy to Western Europe, notably Germany.

Ukrainian officials are heavily lobbying US senators to vote for the sanctions, claiming the pipeline amounts to “an existential threat” to Ukrainian interests. Ukrainians added that supporting them necessarily means opposing the pipeline.

Historically, Russia exported gas to Europe through Ukraine. They believed they needed a direct line because Ukraine has a large unpaid gas debt, and Russian companies expressed concern that shipping that way would encourage Ukrainian companies to try to siphon off some of that gas.

German officials support the pipeline and are warning the US against getting involved. Chancellor Scholz called the pipeline a “private sector project,” and said targeting it would not be suitable as a way to go after Russia.

Israel says it will not be ‘bound’ by future Iran deal

Israel would continue to act against Iran as it sees fit without any ‘limitations,’ PM Naftali Bennett has said

Tel Aviv is “concerned” about the potential outcome of the Vienna talks on the Iranian nuclear program that might be unfavorable to Israel, the prime minister has said, adding that its military would still act as they see fit.

“Israel is not part of the agreements,” Bennett told the Israeli parliament’s powerful Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday. Tel Aviv “is not bound by what is written in the agreements if they are signed,” he added.

The prime minister maintained that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will do whatever is deemed necessary to ensure Israel’s security. It will also make sure to retain “full freedom of operation in any place and at any time, with no limitations,” Bennett said.

Still, he admitted that “in terms of “the Vienna talks, the nuclear talks, we are indeed concerned.” According to the Israeli media, Tel Aviv fears that the talks might end up in a deal that it would deem unacceptable or no agreement at all.

The Times of Israel also reported that the IDF was “working intensively” to prepare a potential military strike on Iran’s nuclear sites in case of such an outcome. It did not cite any sources or data to justify this claim, though. Similar reports surfaced in the Israeli media in October 2021 when IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi reportedly ordered the nation’s air force to “intensely” drill for a potential strike.

On Monday, Bennett also said that the IDF was in the process of its largest rearming in years. The 2022 defense budget amounted to $19.2 billion, with a significant part of it allegedly dedicated to a potential military engagement against Iran, the Israeli media reported.

“We are investing in security rearmament of the IDF and the entire defense establishment. I would say this was rearmament that we haven’t seen for years. This rearmament is important to our survival,” Bennett said.

Tehran previously dismissed Israel’s claims as “empty threats,” but vowed a harsh response in the case of an attack.

Talks on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, which de-facto crumbled after the US unilaterally withdrew from it under former president Donald Trump, have been ongoing at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters in Vienna. In late December, Iran said that the talks, which have been repeatedly paused for various reasons, were making “satisfactory progress.”

Intelligence chief arrested over top-secret leaks

Denmark’s defense intelligence chief has been behind bars for a month on charges of leaking state secrets

The head of Denmark's foreign intelligence agency, Lars Findsen, was arrested last month as part of a case linked to a leak of "highly classified" information, reports have revealed.

Findsen, the head of the Danish Defense Intelligence Service (DDIS), has been charged with leaking top-secret information that could damage the nation’s security or relations with foreign powers, according to the Danish TV2 channel, citing unnamed sources.

He was reportedly arrested and brought into custody on December 9, but this remained undisclosed until Monday, when the Copenhagen City Court pulled back the curtain on the little-known case. Authorities are still treating the probe with the utmost secrecy and very few details have been released to the public.

On the day of the arrest, the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) issued a short press release saying that four “current and former members” of both the DDIS and PET were arrested and searches of various addresses were carried out.

We Have to Speak in Code — Citizens With Reported Vaccine Injuries Being Silenced on Social Media

By now, nearly everyone who doesn’t simply post cat pictures and what they ate for dinner on social media, has likely experienced some sort of censorship. From a warning about a comment to having your entire social media account wiped from the internet, the algorithms protecting the established narrative lay waste to any and all rational discourse.

Perhaps one of the most egregious examples of this censorship is the silencing of those who report vaccine injuries. Last year, mainstream media cheered on the silencing and removal of groups on Facebook where folks could talk about their alleged injuries from the jab.

The outlet who claims to be a panacea of progressivism and free speech, Vox, wrote an article praising Facebook for “cracking down hard” on folks who would dare raise questions about the safety of a vaccine. Now, however, Vox and the rest of the pro-censorship elite, look ignorant as claim after claim about the jabs has fallen apart over the last year.

We were told that you couldn’t get covid if you got the vaccine. That was not true. We were told that taking the jab would get our freedoms back. They never came. We were told it would stop the spread. It did not.

What’s more, the sheer numbers of injuries reported to the government should be enough to raise countless red flags.

Late last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new data showing a total of 1,207,779 reports of adverse events following COVID vaccines. They were submitted between Dec. 14, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2021, to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

This most recent dats included a total of 21,382 reports of deaths and 166,606 reports of serious injuries, including deaths, during the same time period.

As we reported in December, a study by researchers at Columbia University suggested that this number could be a massive undercount. Given the factor of 20 found by the researchers in this study, according to the most recent VAERS numbers, that would mean 400,000 deaths possibly attributed to the covid jab.

Before going any further, as not to set off the “fact checkers” it is important to point out that just because data is submitted to the CDC through VAERS, this does not in anyway mean that these reactions are related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

In fact, immediately after reporting these historically and utterly shocking numbers, the CDC reassures us that “a review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines.”

Alan Dershowitz reportedly lobbied Trump to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell before trial

Former Jeffrey Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz lobbied then-President Donald Trump to pardon madam Ghislaine Maxwell before she could face trial, according to a report.

The 83-year-old lawyer — himself long accused of having sex with one of late pedophile Epstein’s teen accusers — pushed for the pardon after UK media heiress Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 for the sex-trafficking crimes she was convicted of last month, the Times of London said.

The retired Harvard law professor was able to use his close ties to Trump, whom he also represented during his impeachment trial, the paper said.

One of the convicted madam’s brothers, Ian Maxwell, 65, confirmed to the UK paper that he had discussed the possibility of clemency with Dershowitz, who got Epstein his controversial wrist-slap 2008 plea deal on sex offenses with underage girls.

“There was one phone call between Professor Dershowitz and a family member during which the generic issue of pardons was touched on,” Ian Maxwell told the UK Times.

However, he insisted his family — heirs of late, disgraced media baron Robert Maxwell — did not pay Dershowitz or explicitly ask him to raise the matter with Trump.

Biographer Michael Wolff also claimed in “Landslide,” his book about Trump’s final days in office, that the then-president discussed the possibility of pardoning Maxwell.

Trump, one of many high-profile people who had socialized with Maxwell and Epstein, showed a “sudden interest” in the madam during the pardoning period, Wolff said.

Dershowitz declined to discuss his contact with Trump, the UK paper said. However, a source insisted that it “would not be unreasonable to report that” he had raised the Maxwell case with the then-president. The paper was unable to reach Trump for comment.

As well as helping Epstein get his sweetheart 2008 deal — which saw him allegedly able to continue his abuse while under a supervised “work release” program — Dershowitz has long battled to clear his name of personal involvement.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the Epstein accuser suing Prince Andrew, has also repeatedly accused Dershowitz of having sex with her when she was as young as 16.

Dershowitz has denied the allegations and sued Giuffre for defamation, claiming she’s a “serial liar” who used his name because he was famous.

Andrew has also vehemently denied her claims, and is awaiting a decision on a motion to dismiss her lawsuit filed in Manhattan.

El Chapo and ex-Mexican government minister among group charged with trafficking guns

Mexican prosecutors say they have charged seven people — including drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and the country’s former security minister — as part of an investigation into the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal.

Along with Guzman, the former head of the Sinaloa drug cartel, ex-Security Minister Genaro Garcia Luna and former top federal police official Luis Cardenas Palomino were hit with weapons trafficking charges, according to a statement released Sunday by the office of Mexico’s attorney general.

All three are already in custody, either in the US or Mexico.

Guzman is serving a life sentence at a federal “supermax” prison in Colorado.

As part of the operation that ran from 2009 to 2011, federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed criminals to buy weapons with the intention of tracking them to Mexican drug cartels.

More than 2,000 weapons were tracked crossing the US-Mexican border and many wound up in the hands of cartel members.

Some of the guns were used in gangland slayings, while two weapons found at the scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s murder in 2010 were traced to “Fast and Furious.”

Luna, who was arrested in Texas in 2019 and faces trial in the US, served as security chief and headed up the Mexican government’s fight against organized crime in former President Felipe Calderon’s administration.

Palomino, Luna’s right-hand man, was arrested in Mexico in July.

Florida school bans teaching CRT, gender fluidity, and ‘mainstream narrative surrounding COVID’

A Florida school has a policy against teaching critical race theory, arguing that such curriculum is the result of a “controlled” message from the media.

“As a school, we do not subscribe to or promote Critical Race Theory, Gender Fluidity, or the mainstream narrative surrounding Covid, all hot topics that many schools are now choosing to teach as factual rather than as the theories they are,” reads a section of the website for the Centner Academy, a private school in Miami, Florida.

The policy comes as debate has raged in recent months about the inclusion of elements of critical race theory in school curriculum, with proponents arguing that the lessons are needed to inform students about the country’s past injustices.

But the Centner Academy called critical race theory “controlled messaging from the media,” which it said comes at the same time as “unprecedented censorship in the United States.”

“The repeated messaging from the media shapes cultural norms and the way we view social and cultural issues,” the website reads. “Rather than jump on board with the mass media’s storyline, we challenge our students to question, research, analyze and consider issues from multiple perspectives before coming to their own conclusions.”

The school’s rejection of critical race theory comes as many states have moved to ban the curriculum from public schools, with 32 states introducing some form of legislation aimed at limiting critical race theory’s inclusion in lessons. Thirteen states have so far successfully banned critical race theory curriculum in their public schools.

Centner Academy, which costs over $30,000 per year to attend, also vows to take a less-than-mainstream approach on vaccinations, saying they “value freedom of choice and honor freedom of religion.”

“At CA we believe in health freedom,” one section of the website reads. “There is no one size fits all to vaccines. This is why we follow the Florida law and allow our parents to complete a medical or religious exemption form to opt out of the school vaccination program.”

Centner Academy has come under fire for its controversial policies before, most notably for sending a letter to parents last year asking them to hold their children out of school for at least 30 days or wait until summer if they choose to get vaccinated against COVID-19 because “there will be time for the potential transmission or shedding onto others to decrease.”

But the school promises a “unique approach” to education, which it does by promoting a blend of “social and emotional learning with problem-solving and critical thinking.”

“Instead of teaching students what to think, we teach them how to think,” the website reads.

Representatives for Centner Academy did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment.

Myanmar’s Suu Kyi Sentenced to 4 More Years in Prison

BANGKOK—A court in Myanmar sentenced ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi to four more years in prison on Monday after finding her guilty of illegally importing and possessing walkie-talkies and violating coronavirus restrictions, a legal official said.

Suu Kyi was convicted last month on two other charges and given a four-year prison sentence, which was then halved by the head of the military-installed government.

The cases are among about a dozen brought against the 76-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate since the army seized power last February, ousting her elected government and arresting top members of her National League for Democracy party.

If found guilty of all the charges, she could be sentenced to more than 100 years in prison.

Suu Kyi’s supporters and independent analysts say the charges against her are contrived to legitimize the military’s seizure of power and prevent her from returning to politics.

Monday’s verdict in the court in the capital, Naypyitaw, was conveyed by a legal official who insisted on anonymity for fear of being punished by the authorities, who have restricted the release of information about Suu Kyi’s trials.

He said she was sentenced to two years in prison under the Export-Import Law for importing the walkie-talkies and one year under the Telecommunications Law for possessing them. The sentences are to be served concurrently. She also received a two-year sentence under the Natural Disaster Management Law for allegedly violating coronavirus rules while campaigning.

Suu Kyi was convicted last month on two other charges — incitement and breaching COVID-19 restrictions — and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. Hours after that sentence was issued, the head of the military-installed government, Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, reduced it by half.

Suu Kyi’s party won a landslide victory in a 2020 general election, but the military claimed there was widespread electoral fraud, an assertion that independent poll watchers doubt.

Since her first guilty verdict, Suu Kyi has been attending court hearings in prison clothes — a white top and a brown longyi skirt provided by the authorities. She is being held by the military at an unknown location, where state television reported last month she would serve her sentence.

The hearings are closed to the media and spectators and the prosecutors do not comment. Her lawyers, who had been a source of information on the proceedings, were served with gag orders in October.

The military-installed government has not allowed any outside party to meet with Suu Kyi since it seized power, despite international pressure for talks including her that could ease the country’s violent political crisis.

It would not allow a special envoy from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, of which Myanmar is a member, to meet her. The refusal received a rare rebuke from fellow members, who barred Min Aung Hlaing from attending its annual summit meeting.

Even Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who took over as the regional group’s chair for this year and advocates engagement with the ruling generals, failed to meet her last week when he became the first head of government to visit Myanmar since the army’s takeover.

Thousands Protest Lockdown in Germany As Rally Attendance Exceeds Expectations

Thousands of people have once again taken to the streets in Germany to protest lockdown measures, with rally attendance in Hamburg exceeding expectations.

Germans have once again taken to the streets on Saturday in protest of various lockdown measures in Germany, including the proposed compulsory vaccination measures now due to be debated in mid-February.

One protest in Hamburg, in particular, is reported to have broken attendance expectations, the rally occurring shortly after the city banned untested and unboosted patrons from restaurants earlier in the week.

According to a report by Der Spiegel, 13,700 are estimated to have attended demonstrations in Hamburg, despite it being estimated that 11,000 would turn up.

Protesters are reported to have gathered under the motto “Das Maß ist voll. Hände weg von unseren Kindern”, roughly translating idiomatically to “This is the last straw. Hands off our children”.

A preliminary investigation into suspected sedition has also been launched by authorities, after one participant was spotted wearing a Star of David with the word “unvaccinated” on it.

Germany’s various constitution protection authorities nationwide are also keeping an eye on protests for possible “anti-democratic and security-endangering delegitimization of the state”, according to Die Welt, though authorities in Hamburg have reportedly not found evidence that extremists are at the centre of events.

“In Hamburg, the majority of the protest is not yet extremist,” admitted the Hamburg Office for the Protection of the Constitution. “We see right-wing extremists and citizens of the Reich [who reject the legitimacy of the Federal Republic of Germany] as followers, but so far they have not had a controlling or formative effect.”

Several thousand people also gathered in Magdeburg, Düsseldorf, Freiburg as well as a host of other locations across Germany, in order to protest lockdown measures.

Germany, under the nation’s new traffic-light coalition, is looking at the possibility of implementing a vaccination mandate in a similar vein to the one promised by the Austrian government last year.

However, despite many politicians — including Germany’s Chancellor, Olaf Scholz — being in favour of the measure, proceedings on its implementation have come into some difficulty.

While the nation initially hoped to have the measure implemented in early February or March, according to a report by AFP, delays in the writing process have meant that politicians are now only scheduled to have the first draft of any measure proposed by mid-February.

As a result, one report suggests that the measure could not be implemented in Germany before the beginning of May, at the very earliest.

Politicians meanwhile will supposedly be able to vote on the measure when it eventually reaches the Bundestag in a way that aligns with their own personal conscience, according to AFP, with no party in the parliament looking to enforce an official position on the measure.

However, should a mandate pass the German legislature, those who remain unjabbed in the country may face a similar situation as those in neighbouring Austria, where unvaccinated individuals are looking at the possibility of hefty fines, and even possible imprisonment, once a mandate comes into effect.

’They are Afraid of Us’ Thousands March for a Second Day in Austria

Thousands again took the streets in Austria again on Sunday, marking the second day of large protests against the nation’s COVID restrictions.

A number of demonstrations took place again in Austria on Sunday, with thousands taking to the streets for the second day in order to protest the nation’s COVID restrictions.

Like Saturday’s rally in the Austrian capital of Vienna, one large rally in Innsbruck was also relatively peaceful, with the significant majority of police citations being related to violations of outdoor mask-wearing rules.

This was despite claims previously made by authorities before the event that it was “to be feared that in connection with a gathering of numerous people there will be dangerous attacks on the life, health or property of people”, according to a report by Kronen Zeitung.

The newspaper reports that around 6,000 are estimated to have attended the event, which was addressed by members of both the Freiheitliche Partei Österreichs, or Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), as well as the Menschen-Freiheit-Grundrechte party, or the People, Freedom, Rights party.

“I’m standing there steadfastly in front of you and the government is shaking. It will not survive the 2022 year,” Herbert Kickl — the federal party chairman of FPÖ — told those gathered. “They fear us because we love freedom and truth.”

“They are afraid of us,” Kronen Zeitung also cites Kickl as saying.

The party’s state leader Markus Abwerzger meanwhile spoke out heavily against mandatory vaccination.

“Fight everything that comes from the authorities,” told the crowd.

Meanwhile, an Antifa counter-demonstration titled “Raven Against Right” was not as well attended, attracting only around 200 people, according to Kronen Zeitung.

19K Migrants Apprehended on Southwest Border in 2022, Says Source

EAGLE PASS, Texas — A trusted source within Customs and Border Protection tells Breitbart Texas the migrant surge in Eagle Pass is continuing into the new year with 4,000 arrests in the Del Rio Sector. During the first eight days of the new year, agents along the entire southwest border apprehended more than 19,000 migrants.

The source says daily apprehensions are on still the rise as large groups in excess of 100 migrants are crossing the Rio Grande into Texas on a daily basis. The source provided a photo of the latest group of more than 100 mostly Venezuelans crossing the border south of the city.

According to the source, the Del Rio Sector, of which Eagle Pass is a part, is experiencing a higher rate of migrant arrests since January 1 than the Rio Grande Valley Sector. The increase in traffic, according to the source, has the agency stretched thin in the area. “The latest surge in traffic has put Del Rio Sector at the head of the pack this year, we have apprehended more than 4,000 migrants in just six days” the source added.

The source says the Rio Grande Valley Sector usually leads all other Border Patrol sectors in southwest border apprehensions. At least for now, the source says, the Del Rio Sector has a slight lead in apprehensions during the first six days of 2022. According to the source, more than 19,000 migrants have been apprehended since the new year began — more than 4,000 in Del Rio alone.

The large groups are not a new phenomenon to the area. The frequency of the crossings, however, is increasing according to the source. In December, Border Patrol agents in Eagle Pass arrested more than 150 mostly Nicaraguan migrants in one single group.

The source added that the resources needed to apprehend, transport, and process the migrants are having an impact on employee morale and is also impeding the agency from providing an adequate level of border security in the area.

“Getting enough busses out to bring everyone in is not easy, agents are frustrated knowing that once a large group is processed and moving out, another one is on the way in” the source explained.

The strain on personnel and resources needed to process the migrants who are surrendering in large groups caused the agency to reduce routine patrols in many areas along the border. The reduction in regular patrols led to an increase in the number of migrants managing to evade capture.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, an estimated 428,000 migrants managed to elude apprehension in 2021. Agents previously told Breitbart the numbers of got aways are likely much higher because of the constant flow of migrants being apprehended and the reduced field patrols.

The source says in most cases, migrants choosing to surrender are released into the United States to pursue their asylum claims once processing is completed.

Man Detained in Almaty Admits 'Unknown People' Paid Him $200 to Partake in Kazakh Protests - Video

Kazakhstan declared a state of emergency until 19 January after a wave of violent protests swept across the country earlier this week, following a rise in gas prices.

A man who has been detained in Almaty has confessed that he'd arrived from Kyrgyzstan after unknown people offered him over $200 to take part in protests in neighbouring Kazakhstan.

"Some strangers called me over the phone and offered to participate in the rally in exchange for 90 thousand tenge (over $200). Since I am unemployed in Kyrgyzstan, I agreed," the detainee told Khabar 24, a local broadcaster.

He said that unidentified people bought him a ticket and paid for a place for him to live in Kazakhstan. According to the man, around ten people from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan lived with him.

The Kyrgyz citizen detained on suspicion of participating in the protests in Kazakhstan, according to the founder of the High-Tech Park of Kyrgyzstan Azis Abakirov, is jazz musician Vikram Rozakhunov.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said that it is clarifying the circumstances of the detention of the musician in Kazakhstan. The head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan said that this person is not a terrorist.

Earlier, Sergei Lebedev, the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said that protests in Kazakhstan had been prepared in advance in order to destabilise the situation in the country, and its organisers had foreign backing.

"It is obvious today that the destructive elements, the bandits were preparing for mass rallies in advance to destabilise the country and had foreign support," Lebedev said. "These provocateurs, guides, and sponsors of the so-called 'colour revolutions' and riots in the CIS these days declare with feigned pride their leading role in criminal acts in the cities of Kazakhstan."

Lebedev echoes Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who said on 6 January that the events in Kazakhstan were “a foreign-inspired attempt to use armed and trained groups of people forcibly to undermine the security and integrity of the state”.

Videos and Text: Blinken, Stoltenberg Unleash Unprecedented Diktat, Ultimatum at Russia Following NATO Foreign Policy Meeting

Below are videos of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at their respective press briefings following the virtual meeting of NATO’s thirty foreign policy chiefs on January 7, preceded by the transcript of Blinken’s comments. They provide a clear indication of what to expect from the upcoming NATO-Russia Council and Biden-Putin discussions.

The upshot of both Blinken’s and Stoltenberg’s statements are that Russia has the choice of capitulating to NATO’s terms and demands regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine (and implicitly the return of Crimea) and NATO’s absorption of any former Soviet republics not already in the bloc or NATO will revert to its role as the military alliance it has been for 73 years: it will employ the military expedient against Russia. As it has not hesitated to do in Europe, Asia and Africa in the past twenty-three years.

During Blinken’s initial presentation he mentioned Russia or used the words Russian, Moscow and Kremlin no less than 43 times. During answers to reporters he used Russia/n an additional 26 times. He used the pronouns it and its in reference to Russia perhaps dozens of times. Incidentally, on Christmas Day as it’s marked in Russia.

His tone in articulating – practically spitting out – the words was uniformly accusatory, confrontational and bellicose.

Part of his writ of indictment was:

It’s Russia that invaded Ukraine nearly eight years ago.

It’s Russia that is the military occupier of part of Ukraine, in Crimea.

It’s Russia that, to this day, is fueling a war in eastern Ukraine.

It’s Russia that has failed to implement any of its Minsk commitments, indeed is actively violating many of them, and refuses to acknowledge it’s a party to the conflict.

It’s Russia that’s taken aim repeatedly at Ukraine’s democracy.

And it’s Russia that’s sending troops to Ukraine’s border, once again.

He also denounced Russia for claiming that NATO, which has twelve members and partners bordering Russia and troops, armored vehicles, warplanes, warplanes, anti-ballistic missiles, air bases, cyber warfare centers and other assets in those nations and off their coasts, in any manner threatens Russian security interests – “NATO is a defensive Alliance” – claiming the reverse of the fact, that Russia endangers the ostensibly peace-loving North Atlantic Treaty Organization with its combined military spending of over a trillion dollars a year.

International Finance Leaders Hold ‘War Game’ Exercise Simulating Global Financial Collapse. Should We Be Worried?

High-level international banking officials and organizations gathered last month for a global “war game” exercise simulating the collapse of the global financial system. The tabletop exercise was reminiscent of “Event 201,” the pandemic simulation exercise that took place just before COVID-19 entered the global scene.

High-level international banking officials and organizations last month gathered in Israel for a global “war game” exercise simulating the collapse of the global financial system.

The tabletop exercise was reminiscent of “Event 201” — the pandemic simulation exercise that took place in October 2019, shortly before COVID-19 entered the global scene.

The “Collective Strength” initiative was held for 10 days, beginning Dec. 9, 2021, at the Israeli Finance Ministry in Jerusalem. It was relocated to Jerusalem from the Dubai World Expo over concerns about the Omicron variant.

Israel led a 10-country contingent that also included treasury officials from the U.S., Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

Representatives from supranational organizations, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and Bank of International Settlements (BIS), also participated.

Described as a simulated “war game,” the exercise sought to model the response to various hypothetical large-scale cyberattacks on the global financial system, including the leaking of sensitive financial data on the “Dark Web,” hacks targeting the global foreign exchange system, and subsequent bank runs and market chaos fueled by “fake news.”

However, the main theme of “Collective Strength” appears not so much the simulation of such cyberattacks but, as the name of the initiative implies, the strengthening of global cooperation in cybersecurity and the financial sector.

Judge Rules Against Pipeline Company Trying to Keep “Counterinsurgency” Records Secret

In a legal fight over public records, press advocates say that Dakota Access pipeline company Energy Transfer engaged in “abusive litigation tactics.”

Last week, a North Dakota court ruled against a bid by the oil company Energy Transfer to keep documents about its security contractor’s operations against anti-pipeline activism secret. The court thwarted the pipeline giant’s attempt to narrow the definition of a public record and withhold thousands of documents from the press. Judge Cynthia Feland ruled that Energy Transfer’s contract with the security firm TigerSwan cannot prevent the state’s private security licensing board from sharing these records with The Intercept, refusing to accept the company’s attempt to exempt the records from open government laws.

“This is the first opinion that I’ve been aware of that’s made it clear that when you give records to a public entity like this private investigation board, they become public records,” said Jack McDonald, attorney for the North Dakota Newspaper Association. “What relationship there was between Energy Transfer and TigerSwan — that doesn’t affect the records.”

The North Dakota case revolves around 16,000 documents that an administrative law judge forced TigerSwan to hand over to the state’s Private Investigation and Security Board in the summer of 2020 as part of discovery in a lawsuit accusing the company of operating without a security license. TigerSwan was hired by Energy Transfer in September 2016 to lead its security response to the Indigenous-led movement to stop construction of the Dakota Access pipeline, or DAPL, at the edge of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation.

Turkey Seizes 25% of All Foreign Reserves of Companies

I have been warning that governments will do whatever they like as we enter this last 13 years phase into 2032 when this all just collapses. Turkey has seized 25% of all income of exporters in foreign currency reserves requiring them to be converted to lira to boost Turkey’s foreign reserves.

I have been warning that Europe is not just tightening the allowable purchases in cash, they will move to impose currency controls to prevent capital fleeing Europe. This will be coming so be prepared.

The Israeli occupation authorities arrested 390 Palestinians last year for alleged "incitement of violence" on social media, the Palestinian Prisoners' Centre for Studies has reported. According to the centre's media spokesman, 2021 witnessed a significant escalation in the Israeli arrest campaigns targeting Palestinians on charges related to social media content.

Riyad Al-Ashqar added that Israel's routine arrests of Palestinians for social media activity constitutes a punitive policy used as a deterrent by the occupation state. The aim, he believes, is to imprison the largest possible number of children, women and young people. "Not only does the state pursue Palestinians on the ground, but also in the virtual world."

He noted the case of 17-year-old Omar Hashlamoun, from Jerusalem, who was arrested because of a Facebook post in which he wrote: "I am not sure of my long existence in this world, but I hope that I have instilled in everyone a good memory that will remain forever."

Just minutes after posting this innocuous statement, his father received a call from Israeli intelligence officers who said that Omar would be investigated. The boy was then interrogated on suspicion of "threatening a terrorist act" and subjected to torture, violence and psychological pressure.

Al-Ashqar noted that the Israeli occupation authorities have set up a special online unit that follows social media posts by Palestinians. In the eyes of the Israelis, pictures of martyrs and news about attacks against Palestinians are seen as criticisms of the occupation.

The increase in the number of people arrested for "incitement to violence" online has sparked concerns from Palestinian rights organisations over freedom of expression. In a number of countries, valid criticism of Israel and its occupation of Palestine is regarded as "anti-Semitism" and thus against the law.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) accused Facebook in October of "wrongfully" removing and "suppressing" Palestinian content during the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip last May, including discussions related to human rights issues. "Facebook has wrongfully removed and suppressed content by Palestinians and their supporters, including about human rights abuses carried out in Israel and Palestine during the May 2021 hostilities," reported HRW.

"With the space for such advocacy under threat in many parts of the world," added Deborah Brown, senior digital rights researcher and advocate at the human rights body, "Facebook censorship threatens to restrict a critical platform for learning and engaging on these issues."

Israel to begin classifying non-Arab gentile citizens as ‘extended Jewish’

Change by statistics bureau to affect over 400,000 Israelis, most of them Russian-speakers not defined as Jewish and non-Arab Christians, who were previously categorized as ‘other’

Changes to Israel’s census bureau means that citizens will only be classified as Jews or Arabs, with all non-Jews who are not Arab being counted under a new “extended Jewish population” rubric.

The change will see the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) eliminate the separate category of “others” in official publications on demographics, after a request from a Yesh Atid minister who worried the word could put off those included in it.

The “extended Jewish” category will include any citizen who is not Arab and not Jewish according to Jewish religious law. The CBS said it would also classify groups that are neither culturally Jewish nor Arab in the “extended” category.

This means non-Arab Muslims from Israel’s Circassian community will be listed as “extended Jewish,” as will those of other religious denominations who gain citizenship by marrying Israelis, or immigrate under the law of return, which extends citizenship to anyone with a single Jewish grandparent.

Those previously under the “other” designation comprise up to 4.6 percent of the Israeli population.

The new designation is mostly cosmetic and does not affect classifications at the Interior Ministry, which remain unchanged.

The change was made as a result of an appeal by Intelligence Minister Elazar Stern to the chief statistician and director-general of the CBS, Professor Danny Pepperman.

Stern asked for the change after noticing a CBS report in the lead-up to the Jewish New Year in September that listed populations as Jewish, Arab or “other.”

He claimed that Israel had the goal of converting non-Jews who immigrate, and argued that placing them in an “other” category could push them away. A spokesperson was unable to elaborate.

In December, the CBS Advisory Committee was convened and accepted Stern’s proposal to stop labeling members of the group as “others.”

DIRECTOR OF FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS, MICHAEL CARVAJAL ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT

After over 30 years in the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Director Michael Carvajal has announced his retirement. On Wednesday, agency spokesperson Donald Murphy said in a statement that Carvajal was stepping down, but would remain in his role until a new Director is appointed.

Carvajal, a Trump administration holdover, was tapped as director in 2020 by then Attorney General William Barr. He began working for the agency as a correctional officer in 1992, after a career in the Army, and worked his way up through the bureau, eventually becoming the warden of several federal prisons. In 2018 he was named assistant director for the Correctional Programs Division before becoming director.

Carvajal has faced scrutiny from the Biden administration and congressional Democrats, many of whom urged Attorney General Merrick Garland to fire him.

Garland commented, “Michael’s career has been defined by his commitment to the bureau, to its mission and to the people we all serve. I am extremely appreciative of Michael’s decades of public service, most recently at the helm of one of the most complex missions in the federal Government.”

Carvajal’s retirement announcement comes after an Associated Press (AP) investigation uncovered abuse, misconduct and corruption among the agency’s staff and leadership. More than 100 federal prison workers have been arrested, convicted or sentenced for various crimes since 2019 and, in some instances, the agency failed to reprimand officers who were arrested for crimes according to the AP.

The investigation by the AP also revealed a warden was indicted for sexual abuse, while another was charged with murder.

A BOP spokesperson responded by telling the AP in November that the agency is “committed to ensuring the safety andsecurity of all inmates in our population, our staff, and the public” and misconduct allegations are “thoroughly investigated for potential administrative discipline or criminal prosecution.”

In that role, Carvajal oversaw an $8 billion budget, over 100 BOP facilities and offices, as well as more than 37,000 staff and approximately 151,000 inmates.

Carvajal also came under criticism during his tenure as director, by some lawmakers for the agency’s Covid response after several prisons saw rising coronavirus cases among staff and inmates.

Fauci’s NIH Division Paid $205K for Researchers To Study Transgender Monkeys

Taxpayer-funded study aimed to explain high rate of HIV in trans women

Dr. Anthony Fauci's division of the National Institutes of Health paid over $200,000 during the coronavirus pandemic for researchers to study why transgender women have high rates of HIV by injecting male monkeys with female hormones.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in December 2021 gave Scripps Research $205,562 for the study, which aims to determine why transgender women have high rates of HIV. As part of the study, researchers subject male monkeys to feminizing hormone therapy to study how it impacts the monkeys' immune systems, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Fauci has overseen rampant animal testing since he took over the NIAID in 1984. It was revealed in November that the NIAID funded a study that infected beagles with heart-worm larvae and euthanized them after experimentations. As part of another study, researchers infected beagles with mutated bacteria from ticks.

The NIAID began running HIV vaccine tests on monkeys a year after Fauci took charge. Each year, the department acquires 400 to 600 rhesus monkeys from a South Carolina island leased by Charles River Laboratories, which has a $27.5 million contract with the NIAID.

Dr. Katherine Roe, a neuroscientist with PETA, says the study is "yet another pointless, wasteful monkey torture experiment."

"It's just bad science to suggest that dosing monkeys with feminizing medication makes them good stand-ins for humans," Roe told the Washington Free Beacon. "This study will not help to prevent or treat HIV and will not help transgender women."

Roe says the study is ineffective because monkeys cannot contract HIV. They contract Simian Immunodeficiency Virus, a milder form of the disease. She faults the National Institutes of Health for spending billions of dollars on using monkeys in HIV research, since the primates cannot contract AIDS.

Scripps Florida told the Free Beacon that testing "sub-populations" is the key to discovering effective treatments for fatal diseases.

"The research you reference concerns a sub-population of people at greater risk of HIV infection, and factors that may or may not affect their response to a treatment/preventative approach in development," a spokeswoman said. "It is through these types of targeted research studies that substantive progress against HIV, cancer, ALS, dementia—indeed most diseases and conditions—will be made."

The NIAID did not respond to requests for comment.

The NIAID has granted millions of dollars to researchers who study HIV transmission in transgender individuals, who are 49 times more likely to get HIV than non-transgender individuals. The agency gave over $155,000 to a University of Alabama researcher to study how testosterone treatment for women potentially weakens disease-fighting microorganisms in the vagina. Researchers at Emory University received over $230,000 to study how the rectum immune cells of transgender people affect HIV risk.

In Video: Large Convoy of U.S. Tankers Smuggling Oil To Iraq

On January 10, RusVesna published a video showing a large convoy of U.S. takers with Syrian oil heading towards Iraq.

The footage taken by a military aircraft proved that a kilometers-long US convoy accompanied by four military vehicles was moving along the M4 highway towards the illegal border crossing of Al-Walid with Iraq.

According to the SANA news agency, U.S. and Kurdish forces have recently launched an oil refinery at the Rmeylan fields in the northeastern part of Syria’s Hassakah province, from where they are stealing oil and are transporting it to Iraq.

According to local sources, the US Delta Crescent company that is working on the ground in north-eastern Syria to process the oil bought loyalty of Arab sheikhs from the Tai tribe, who are now involved in the theft of oil.

Delta Crescent Energy was registered in 2019 in Delaware, according to Opencorporates.

The SDF signed a deal with Delta Crescent Energy LLC without the approval of the legitimate government in Damascus, which called it a “deal between thieves”.

The owners of the company are not named, but Politico and several other Middle Eastern media outlets refer to them as James Kane, James Reese and John Dorrier Jr.

The first is known for being the US ambassador to Denmark for four years under President George W. Bush, and now owns Cain Global Partners, which promotes various brands in the Middle East, including Lego.

Reese, one of the partners of Delta Crescent Energy, has been a strong advocate of US military presence in Syria. In 2018, he declared on Fox News “We own the whole eastern part of Syria…That’s ours. We can’t give that up.” Presumably the ‘Delta’ part of the company’s name comes from him, since he spent part of his 25-year service in the US army as part of Delta Force.

Following his retirement in 2007, he formed TigerSwan, a company that provides security, logistics and risk management services to private businesses and US government agencies worldwide, including hot spots.

Finally, John P. Dorrier Jr. is a former executive at GulfSands Petroleum between 2004-2008, a UK based company that had previously worked in northeastern Syria.

It was at this time that the company entered the Syrian market, obtained a license for the Block 26 site in the north-east of the country and discovered the East Khurbert oil field there, which produced 18.5 thousand barrels per day before the war.

Gulfsands Petroleum later discovered and launched several more fields and was one of the last companies to halt operations in Syria in 2012 due to sanctions.

Northeast Syria, is mainly made up of the province of Deir ez-Zor. It is notable for the fact that it contains 75% of the country’s oil reserves – 2.5 billion barrels.

The company, Delta Crescent Energy LLC, was granted a sanctions waiver by the Trump administration in April 2020. It permitted to work in northeastern Syria oil fields, which are controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Biden administration has decided to not extend a sanctions waiver for a small US oil company to operate in northeastern Syria, Al-Monitor reported on May 21, citing sources informed on the matter. On December 31, the U.S. sanctions waiver granted to Delta Crescent Energy should be expired.

Email proves Downing Street staff held drinks party at height of lockdown

Downing Street staff were invited to a drinks party in the Number 10 garden during the height of nationwide lockdown to "make the most of the lovely weather".

An email shared exclusively with ITV News provides the first evidence of a party on May 20, 2020, when the rest of the country was banned from meeting more than one other person outdoors.

The email was sent by the Prime Minister's Principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds to over a hundred employees in Number 10, including the Prime Minister's advisors, speechwriters and door staff.

In it, Mr Reynolds - a senior No 10 civil servant who has run Boris Johnson's private office since October 2019 - says:

"Hi all,

"After what has been an incredibly busy period it would be nice to make the most of the lovely weather and have some socially distanced drinks in the No10 garden this evening.

"Please join us from 6pm and bring your own booze!"

ITV News understands around 40 staff gathered in the garden that evening, eating picnic food and drinking. Crucially, they included the Prime Minister and his wife Carrie Johnson.

24 arrested for smuggling migrants, drugs and stolen goods across the Mediterranean

The suspects smuggled goods and people in and out of Europe and exploited every opportunity to maximise profits

Officers from the Spanish National Police (Policía Nacional), supported by Europol, dismantled an organised crime group involved in property crime, facilitation of illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

Results from the action day on 14 December 2021:

9 house searches,

24 arrests in Spain,

Seizures include: 4 vehicles, 3.5 kg of ecstasy pills (around 6 500 pills) valued at about €152 600, 56 grams of phencyclidine, 710 boxes of smuggled tobacco, stolen goods (61 mobile devices, competition bikes, electric scooters), electronic equipment, documents and about €40 000 in cash.

Smuggling and trafficking goods and people to both Europe and the Middle East

The investigation uncovered that the criminal network was smuggling migrants from Algeria to Spain, but also fugitives from Europe to the Middle East, taking advantage of the boats on their way back to Algeria. The network was involved in other criminal activities including trafficking of synthetic drugs, property crime, tobacco smuggling and trafficking of documents. On the first action day, investigators found a warehouse that was being used by the suspects. Inside the warehouse, they discovered a large number of stolen items that were being prepared to be smuggled to Algeria. The warehouse was sealed off as a result of the action.

The investigators proved that the criminal network facilitated the smuggling of 250 irregular migrants into Spain in 54 separate incidents in the last few months. The criminal group was very well structured, with some members solely involved in management tasks, and others in accommodation, transportation. Hawaladars connected to the network sponsored the illegal trips of migrants but charge high rates of interest. The officers from the Spanish Police also discovered that the leader of the gang and his wife used their nine-year-old son as a drug courier.

Migrants were charged €5 000 for the crossing from Algeria to Almería, Spain and between €700 and €1 000 from Spain to France. The suspects used forerunner cars to cross the border with France.

Europol facilitated the exchange of information and provided analytical support. On the action day, Europol deployed an expert to Spain to assist with the cross-checking of operational information against Europol’s databases and to provide technical support with data extraction and analysis of digital evidence.

On Sale at a Tel Aviv Antiques Market: Swastika Pins and SS Cards

Yad Vashem director calls growing trade in Nazi memorabilia ‘a moral stain’ and is examining legislation that would outlaw it

Last Friday, a couple in their sixties picked up an item that caught their eye at a booth in the antiques market in Tel Aviv’s Givon Square, a bustling piazza near the Sarona compound. Less than a second later, they put it back with a confused look on their faces, muttering “oy vey.”

One glance was enough to explain their reaction. It turns out that the booth’s stock includes Nazi relics from World War II, such as SS officers’ membership cards and swastika pins.

The booth’s owner, a young man, was busy bargaining over other items at that time. When asked later about the authenticity of the Nazi items, he replied, “Check with Yad Vashem.”

“Historical items from the Holocaust period belong in Yad Vashem’s collection,” agreed the Holocaust remembrance center’s chairman, Dani Dayan. “Here they are preserved, studied and serve as historical evidence for researchers and the general public.”

Dayan added that Yad Vashem “is aware that trade in items from the Holocaust period exists, particularly in Nazi items and mementos. This trade is a moral stain, and it also encourages and creates a market for forgeries. And this trade has been expanding in recent years.”

Revealed: The Mega-Famous Hollywood Billionaire Who Bullies Joe Manchin Behind Closed Doors

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia is being aggressively targeted in a left-wing campaign to bully him into submission vis-à-vis President Joe Biden’s bloated $1.75 trillion Build Back Better spending program.

Among the prominent leftists who’ve been berating the moderate Democrat into backing Biden’s radical agenda are billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, Politico reported Friday.

“Manchin has told colleagues that his phone line has been lighting up with prominent names outside the Senate in recent days,” an insider told Politico. “He’s heard from former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and talk-show legend Oprah Winfrey.”

Manchin opposes Build Back Better, saying it will cause inflation to soar even higher and increase the national debt by $3 trillion over the next decade.

More important, the senator said, passing the exorbitant legislation is not what his constituents want.

Unlike most Democrats, Manchin is actually doing his job — which is to represent the will of his West Virginia constituents — and not the interests of limousine liberals who live in California or Martha’s Vineyard.

The fact that Democrats have called in the A-list “big dogs” to hound Manchin into submission underscores how desperate they’ve become amid the multiple crises Biden has inflamed with his destructive policies.

To his credit, the centrist lawmaker has remained steadfast in the face of relentless bullying by left-wing mobs, who’ve intimidated him verbally and even physically to pass the Democrats’ cradle-to-grave social welfare legislation.

Manchin also has stated repeatedly that he does not support the Democrats’ unilateral move to end the filibuster in order to federalize elections and to jam through Biden’s pricey Build Back Better bill.

Hopefully, the former West Virginia governor will continue to stick to his principles, for the sake of his constituents as well as for the countless Americans who don’t want the United States to devolve into an authoritarian, socialist cesspool.

Winfrey’s presumptuous meddling underscores that rich celebrities have far more access to the political process than Heartland Americans.

Regular people can’t call senators on their personal phones to bully them into doing their bidding. However, because of Oprah’s wealth and connections, she has direct access to Manchin.

This is a major reason that so many Americans resent that clueless celebrities try to influence political outcomes while disregarding the tragic impact it has on the public at large.

A glaring example is how the left’s lionization of Black Lives Matter’s “defund the police” frenzy — in the name of “racial equity” — enabled violent crime waves in liberal cities that ultimately hurt black and brown people.

Disgraced FBI No. 2 Andrew McCabe Calls For Feds To Treat ‘Mainstream’ Conservatives Like Domestic Terrorists

Have you ever wondered what disgraced former deputy FBI directors do after trying to stage a coup and lying under oath? Apparently, they give talks about “protecting democracy” at top-rated institutions of higher learning. Indeed, this last Thursday the University of Chicago invited former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe to join a panel of partisans to discuss the Jan 6 “insurrection.”

McCabe was fired as the deputy FBI director for leaking sensitive information about an investigation into the Clinton Foundation and then lying about it under oath. He also took part in spying on the Donald Trump campaign through a secret warrant granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court.

The dossier he used to obtain the surveillance warrant was funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and, in an ironic twist, was itself the product of Russian disinformation. McCabe and his allies in corporate media justified all sorts of similar illegal and undemocratic tactics to discredit and attempt to unseat President Trump.

Of course, neither the University of Chicago nor McCabe acknowledged the irony in him discussing the integrity of “democracy” in America on Thursday evening. In fact, what McCabe said at the University of Chicago event on Jan. 6, 2022 is even more shocking than his invitation to speak in the first place. Below are four of the most appalling assertions and policy proposals McCabe made at the public event.

  1. Conservatives Are in The Same Category As Islamic Terrorists

McCabe likened conservatives to members of the Islamic Caliphate: “I can tell you from my perspective of spending a lot of time focused on the radicalization of international terrorists and Islamic extremist and extremists of all stripes… is that this group shares many of the same characteristics of those groups that we’ve seen radicalized along entirely different ideological lines,” he said.

McCabe went on to describe the rise of the Islamic caliphate in Syria and how Islamic extremists were radicalized across socioeconomic, educational, and racial lines, likening it to the “mass radicalization” of the political right across demographics. That’s right, according to McCabe a grandma who shares a Federalist article on Facebook and your uncle with a “Let’s Go Brandon” coffee mug are in the same category as a jihadist who killed 49 people at an Orlando nightclub.

Mark McGowan says ‘life is about to get difficult’ for unvaccinated WA residents under sweeping new vaccine requirements

Premier Mark McGowan has warned life will become increasingly difficult for the unvaccinated under a sweeping expansion of Western Australia's proof of vaccination requirements.

Western Australian venues and events will soon be subject to an expanded set of proof of vaccination requirements under a long term policy announced by Premier Mark McGowan.

Speaking at his Monday COVID-19 press conference Mr McGowan said the previous interim policy would be replaced with a longer term policy in coming days.

“We are currently finalising a longer term policy which will cover a wide range of licensed events and venues, restaurants as well as riskier environments like indoor fitness centres,” he said.

Gyms and cafes were among the establishments listed by the WA Premier which will be subject to the proof of vaccination rules.
