>I never understood crediting the actions of men to an imaginary being.

That's because you lack empathy.

You think the Being is imaginary.

He doesn't.

Learn emic and etic you fucking retard.

Okay it looks like you are seriously engaging and not baiting so here's my take:

There is something in human psychology about edifications. Edifications being giving thanks about those little things that happen. Do men cause that good fortune sometimes? Sure! However, as many atheists point out and studies do look to me they are showing humans are hard-wired to "know" or "feel" there is "something" beyond them out there. We evolved to "need" religion it seems.

Well when we give thanks it edifies us and I myself am not aware of any studies that show why that helps.

Now here is some direct anecdotal data for you; directly from what happened to me. I am Christian, yes; don't worry not going to proselytize to ya. I was depressed, very depressed between 10 and 5 years ago (high-functioning). I got out of it and when I, for example, drop a breakable glass and say catch it, I silently give God thanks that I did so. I never used to do that before. That was an edification and I got a dopamine hit off it. The good kind of "hit"; not addictive.

tl;dr humans feel better when edifying their religion whatever it is science isn't sure why that works.

>My point is, the person not receiving the deserved praise doesn't feel better do they?

Well I suppose in the specific example that started us discussing…

…but I don't know of any religions that say you can only thank one person/entity at a time.

Fine.

I'll spoon-feed you.

Anon #507b02 stated to you upthread 'seek and ye shall find.'

Contrary to what I perceive you to believe, we don't just spit out Bible phrases like political slogans.

If you humble yourself and just ask God, just admit that you think He isn't real and if He is…respectfully tell Him you think He is full of shit.

I'm serious here.

You just have to follow one and ONLY one rule:

DO NOT PUBLIC ALLY mock God. Privately (your inner monologue to him, you can think prayers you don't have to do them out loud) you can tell Him that you feel you are wasting your time but if He exists it is His opportunity to show you.

You don't even have to ask anything specifically, He will show you over time but only if you are serious.

Think of it as you are following a hypothesis, then you are testing it.

Pretend you are testing the hypothesis 'if I had blue food coloring to water, it will turn orange.'

You know for damned sure it want but you are testing anyway.

Do know though that your testing this particular hypothesis will take time.

Well if he is just an asshole not trying to learn anything I see it as an opportunity to show spiritually-troubled brothers/sisters and those with true questions some Truth.

>So I prove to myself that God exists by asking him if he exists?

We are all different. He will answer you based on your psychology and your past experiences.

>circular logic?

Yes we see the circular logic. Have you ever heard of the Argument from Fallacy?

>And if I actually get an answer, why would I trust it to be God and not a Demon or some interdimensional thing or some completely 3rd thing?

Then keep testing the original hypothesis or come up with a new one based on your results. If you were lost say in Alaska and you knew you were 200 km from your home and your home was definitely due north when you got to the first marker you marked as north would you then be like, well, shit I went north and didn't find my house!

I'm doomed!

No, you'd take another reading with your compass for north then go to that waypoint.

>Yet you defend it.. we have nothing more to discuss if we can't even agree on basic logic.

Argument from Fallacy is part of basic logic you disingenuous double-nigger, triple-faggot.

I would advise you to download the both the US Army and US Navy survival field manuals; they are free for everyone. You never know when you may need them.

I'll admit when Fauci started showing that cap from Paul's Webpage to connect it to a loan nut (or FED LARPER lol) it's making me wonder if this is no longer political theater.

I cannot remember the last time somebody pulled that stunt in a Senate hearing, in front of cameras and newsrooms sure, but not a hearing like this one.

Didn't it land after hearing prep?

Lawmakers and lawyers overlap. That is they don't like asking questions unless they already know the answer to them.

Trying to bomb somebody with a just-landed report can backfire.
