since martial arts are in the frame tonite:
strange fact that the russian foreign minister sergey lavrov and deputy foreign minister sergei ryabkov have surnames that match two famous russian systema martial artists
alexander lavrov, master of "no contact" systema:
embedded is a very spooky documentary in russian. worth skimming through. at 19:46 he demonstrates dowsing with a pistol. when it's loaded, then cocked, then pointed at him, his dowsing rod registers more "polarity" each time. one of the most interesting demos of dowsing i've ever seen.
you may doubt the "no contact" part of this – lavrov is either regarded as a true master of the art or a drunken fool, according to the russian youtube comments i've translated. you'll see that he was special forces, spetznaz, in afghanistan. there's no space for playing around in that theater. i have no doubt that he is 100% genuine.
mikhail ryabko (nearly the same name as ryabkov) is one of the big chiefs of systema in russia. his dad was one of stalin's bodyguards.
systema was developed by orthodox christian warrior monks, also based in cossack dancing. was banned and suppressed by stalin (except for his own bodyguards).
how to punch, by michail ryabko:

systema is coming out of the shadows in a big way. very subtle, very deep martial art.
i would hate to meet alexander lavrov in the wrong dark corridor, and sergey lavrov is probably equally scary in the dark corridors of diplomacy.
