Army preparing to stage recurring 'realistic' guerrilla warfare exercise in rural Carolina counties

The exercise serves as the final obstacle for candidates seeking to pass the Special Forces Qualification Course training

The U.S. Army has announced that Special Forces candidates will head to rural North and South Carolina later this month to train in a "realistic" guerrilla war.

The intensive military exercise, called the Robin Sage training, is described as a 14-day "unconventional warfare" drill. It is the final obstacle for candidates seeking to pass the Special Forces Qualification Course training.

The drill is set run from Jan. 22 to Feb. 4. It will take place on privately owned land across 25 counties in North Carolina and three in South Carolina, according to the Army's John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

Candidates are placed in a politically unstable fictional country known as Pineland, in which they face off against trained service members from various units across Fort Bragg. Specially trained civilians are also brought in to join the exercise and create a setting in which candidates must solve real-world problems during an armed conflict.

"These military members act as realistic opposing forces and guerrilla freedom fighters, also known as the Pineland resistance movement," read the announcement.

The announcement comes, in part, to ensure that civilian residents in the area and members of the law enforcement community don't mistake the fighting and gunshots they may hear for terrorism or criminal activity.

"Residents may hear blank gunfire and see occasional flares. Controls are in place to ensure there is no risk to persons or property," the warfare center said.

In 2002, a soldier was killed and a second was wounded when a sheriff's deputy in North Carolina's Moore County mistook the Robin Sage exercise for criminal activity.

Biden Job Approval Plummets To 33% As Majority Think US Democracy 'In Danger Of Collapse'

President Joe Biden's approval rating has hit an all-time low in Quinnipiac's latest poll - which has the oldest US president at just 33%, while 53% of those polled disapprove.

The poll also revealed that:

A majority of Americans, 58 - 37 percent, think the nation's democracy is in danger of collapse.

Republicans say 62 - 36 percent, independents say 57 - 39 percent, and Democrats say 56 - 37 percent they think the nation's democracy is in danger of collapse.

Just over half of Americans (53 percent) expect political divisions in the country to worsen over their lifetime, 28 percent expect them to remain about the same, and 15 percent expect them to ease.

US Imposes Sanctions on North Koreans, Russian, After Missile Tests

WASHINGTON—The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on six North Koreans, one Russian, and a Russian firm it said were responsible for procuring goods from Russia and China for North Korea’s weapons programs, an action that follows a series of North Korean missile launches, including two since last week.

The U.S. Treasury said the steps aimed to prevent the advancement of North Korea’s weapons programs and impede its attempts to proliferate weapons technologies.

The sanctions were the first specifically targeting North Korea’s weapons programs imposed by the Biden administration, which has sought unsuccessfully to engage Pyongyang in dialogue to persuade it to give up its nuclear bombs and missiles.

U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said Washington remained committed to pursuing diplomacy with North Korea.

“What we have seen in recent days … only underscores our belief that if we are going to make progress, that we will need to engage in that dialogue,” he told a regular news briefing.

The Treasury Department said the sanctions followed six North Korean ballistic missile launches since September, each of which violated U.N. Security Council resolutions.

Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said the moves targeted North Korea’s “continued use of overseas representatives to illegally procure goods for weapons.”

North Korea’s latest launches were “further evidence that it continues to advance prohibited programs despite the international community’s calls for diplomacy and denuclearization,” Nelson said in a statement.

It said the State Department had designated Russia-based North Korean Choe Myong Hyon, Russian national Roman Anatolyevich Alara, and the Russian firm Parsek LLC for “activities or transactions that have materially contributed to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery.”

It said Choe Myong Hyon, a Vladivostok-based representative of North Korea’s Second Academy of Natural Sciences (SANS), had worked to procure telecommunications-related equipment from Russia.

Four China-based North Korean representatives of SANS-subordinate organizations—Sim Kwang Sok, Kim Song Hun, Kang Chol Hak and Pyon Kwang Chol—and one other North Korean, O Yong Ho, were also targeted.

House of horrors: Police arrest woman after finding injured and 'heavily soiled' toddlers hog-tied, trapped inside home

Authorities arrested a San Antonio, Texas, woman after discovering two dirty, injured toddlers trapped alone in a room in her house.

What are the details?

According to a report from KSAT-TV, police arrested 37-year-old Priscilla Ann Salias on Tuesday and charged her with two counts of endangering a child after receiving a tip that there were two filthy, injured children being held in a room in her home.

On Sunday, officials forced their way into a room at her home and reportedly discovered the children — a 2-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl — inside the room.

The female toddler, according to an arrest affidavit, had her wrists and ankles bound and tied together. The unnamed child had "visible injuries," including a blackened eye and a bloodied lip.

The male toddler was trapped inside a playpen that was covered with a changing table and baby carrier.

Both children were "heavily soiled" and crying when first responders burst into the room.

Salias reportedly had temporary custody of the children — who belonged to her stepdaughter — as the children's biological parents were under investigation by child protective services.

Her bail was set at $150,000.

She has not posted bail at the time of this reporting and has denied all charges.

"What she did to these children is unforgivable," San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said on Salias' arrest.

The children are now in the custody of child services.

According to the Daily Mail, Salias said the the charges are "bulls**t" and that reporters need to "get their facts straight."

She did not elaborate, however, how the children ended up in such disturbing conditions.

Salias' father, Bill, said that he can't imagine his daughter as being responsible for abusing the children.

"The kids she's taken into her home out of the kindness of her heart is because that's the kind of person she is," he said. "Now this sensationalized version that's being portrayed on her is totally inaccurate."

The outlet reported that the children's biological mother, identified only by her first name Isabella, said that she just wants her children to "come home already."

US must prepare for war with Russia, ex-Pentagon official claims

Security adviser alleges conflict is likely to break out over tensions surrounding Ukraine

The US must ready itself for a war with Russia, a former Defense Department official has warned, saying that Washington could be obliged to step in militarily if Moscow decides to mount an invasion of Ukraine in the near future.

Evelyn Farkas, who served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia from 2012-15, published an op-ed in Defense One on Tuesday in which she claimed that an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine is “more likely than not.” The former Obama administration official insisted that diplomatic talks between Moscow and Washington, taking place this week, are likely to fail, and that the US should already be getting ready for war with Russia.

In an echo of the words former President George W. Bush, used to describe the nations invading Iraq in 2003, she called for the US to marshal “an international coalition of the willing” to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin “and, if necessary, prepare for war.”

According to Farkas, Russia fails to abide by international law, and has been emboldened by recent mass protests in Kazakhstan, a neighboring nation and former Soviet republic with which Moscow has close ties. All this, she alleged, makes it more likely than ever that Putin is planning to invade Ukraine.

“If Russia prevails again,” she warned, “we will remain stuck in a crisis not just over Ukraine but about the future of the global order far beyond that country’s borders. Left unrestrained, Putin will move swiftly, grab some land, consolidate his gains, and set his sights on the next satellite state in his long game to restore all the pre-1991 borders: the sphere of geographical influence he deems was unjustly stripped from Great Russia.”

Farkas’ article comes as senior diplomats from the US and Russia are meeting in Geneva this week to discuss security proposals that Moscow delivered to Washington in December. The Kremlin has requested written guarantees that NATO, the US-led military bloc, will not expand into Ukraine and Georgia, two countries that share borders with Russia. American officials, meanwhile, have expressed concern about the alleged Russian troop buildup near Ukraine, and have said that they will not make any promises about NATO membership.

Despite the apparent impasse, officials from both sides have indicated that they are willing to negotiate while they have the chance. Russia has repeatedly denied it has any aggressive intentions towards Ukraine, and has accused the US of fueling tensions by providing Kiev with arms and military support.

Germany Ends Bundeswehr Mission In Syria, Extend Operations In Iraq

On January 12, the German Cabinet ended Syria’s status as a site of military operations of the German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr.

The German Air Force, the Luftwaffe, ended its operations over Syria around two years earlier. German fighter jets flew reconnaissance missions over the country until March 2020.

Germany remains a key member of the US-led coalition against ISIS. While the German Cabinet ended the Bundeswehr mission in Syria, its operations in Iraq were extended.

The Bundeswehr was allowed to keep a maximum of 500 personnel in Iraq up until October 31. Most of Germany’s soldiers in the country are currently stationed in the northern region of Kurdistan.

The German military will provide “air refueling, air transport, air surveillance and situational awareness capabilities as well as staff,” according to Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht.

A German supply base in Jordan will also remain operational for the time being, likely to support the Bundeswehr’s operations in Iraq.

The end of German military operations in Syria will weaken the position of the US-led coalition, who maintains troops in the northeastern and southeastern regions of country. It’s worth noting that as for now coalition members France and the UK are still active in the country.

Supreme Court Is Aiding and Abetting the Biden Administration's Run-Out-the Clock Strategy on Vaccine Mandate

Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for companies with 100 or more employees officially went into effect on Monday and companies are scrambling to figure out how to force employees to comply. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is sitting on its hands, refusing to rule, and compelling employers to enforce Biden’s totalitarian mandate.

On December 15, 2021 a three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that the lower Louisiana federal court only had the authority to block the mandate in the 14 states that had actually filed suit. The following day, a federal court in Texas granted a preliminary injunction to enjoin CMS from enforcing is vaccine mandate in Texas. Thus, the CMS mandate has been blocked from enforcement in 25 states but remains in effect in the remaining 25 states, including Michigan. On December 28, 2021, the CMS updated its FAQs indicating it is moving forward with implementation of the CMS in the 25 states not subject to the Stay and modified its compliance timeline to January 27, 2022 for phase one and February 28, 2022 for phase two. The U.S. government applied to the Supreme Court asking for a nationwide stay of the injunctions issued by the lower federal courts, pending full review by the lower Circuit courts. The Supreme Court granted the request and also held an emergency hearing on the CMS Rule this past Friday, January 7, 2022.

Since then, the court has been silent—negligently so.

On Monday, most of the provisions of the Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) went into effect, with the exception of the testing requirement for unvaccinated employees, which has been delayed until Feb. 9. Employers across the county, terrified of running afoul of OSHA, are demanding employee vaccination information and warning those who refuse that they will be treated just like the filthy, unwashed, unvaxxed. Those employees will be required to submit to a weekly COVID test if they want to continue to feed their families.

Not long after Biden issued the ETS, Chief of Staff Ron Klain said the quiet part out loud when he retweeted MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle’s post that said, “OSHA doing this vaxx mandate as an emergency workplace safety rule is an ultimate work-around for the Federal govt to require vaccinations.”

In other words, Biden knew the nation’s first-ever national vaccine mandate was likely unconstitutional, but he didn’t care. He knew employers would have no choice but to begin to implement compliance measures while the ETS was tangled up in the courts.

It appears that Biden has succeeded in running out the clock. The Supreme Court could have ruled that the lower courts’ stays on the mandate should continue, and yet here we are three days after the rules went into effect and justices remain silent, leaving employers with only two choices: comply with the mandate or defy OSHA, which wields enormous power and hovers like the sword of Damocles over their businesses.

With much fanfare, the DOJ announced it will be establishing a unit focused on “domestic terrorism.” To justify turning the full force of the government against its own citizens, Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen told the Senate Judiciary Committee, “We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies.”

That description sounds like the summer of 2020 to most Americans. After all, there is no definition of domestic terrorism. The only legal definition of terrorism is the one for international terrorism. It describes activities that are violent or dangerous to human life and that are intended to intimidate or coerce civilians or influence the policy of a government. The months-long Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots that killed at least two dozen people, injured thousands of law enforcement officers, and caused approximately $2 billion in covered damage seem to fit it.

Those riots tried to destroy the federal court in Portland, threatened to kill Mayor Ted Wheeler, forcing him to move, and took over a section of the city of Seattle. The mobs burned businesses and police precincts to the ground, and at its most threatening, breached the police line on the White House lawn forcing President Trump to go to a secure area at the behest of the Secret Service. The chaos led directly to an increase in violent crime nationwide. The self-described aims of these groups were political, from defunding the police to inserting an equity agenda into every area of government.

Of course, these are not the domestic terrorists that concern the DOJ. At least for now, the far-left rioters support the Biden regime. Their national temper tantrum seemed to end as soon as it appeared Joe Biden won the election. That is a coincidence very few commentators point out. Instead, the DOJ and the administration point to Jan. 6, when a few hundred Americans entered the Capitol to object to the certification of the 2020 election. Law enforcement quashed the riot in a few hours, and Mitch McConnell convened the Senate to certify the election.

The Prime Minister has been handed a letter with 42 urgent demands in a desperate bid to pull Australia out of a “deep crisis”.

The Prime Minister has been issued a series of urgent demands in order to pull Australia out of a Covid-sparked crisis that has seen supermarket shelves emptied and left residents scrambling for rapid tests.

Ahead of a National Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Australia’s national advocacy body for disadvantaged people and community services urged leaders to make rapid tests free for all, increase and extend pandemic payments and provide better and more detailed data of who is most affected by the spread of Omicron across the country.

Australian Council of Social Service chief executive Dr Cassandra Goldie told news.com.au the country was “in deep crisis” and the people who were often hit the hardest were not being represented in the government’s decision making process.

“People with the least face the highest risks of the multiple affects of Covid,” she said.

“During the first phase of this pandemic, we now know people on low incomes were dying at four times the rate of the rest of the community.”

Dr Goldie is calling for the creation of a Covid Rapid Response Group – including ACOSS, unions, business peaks and public health experts – to work with national cabinet.

Dr Goldie drew attention to the workforce crisis in the community sector which was leaving people in need without carers.

“We know we have a dramatic worker shortage because many people are getting sick or can’t get their hands on RATs, can’t get access to PCR tests, to know whether it’s safe for them to go into work,” she said.

“In the disability area we’ve now got gaps of up to 20 per cent absenteeism in the workforce.”

Dr Goldie wants the government to ensure all disability support providers have individualised Covid emergency care plans to ensure support is continued if a worker or a person with disability become Covid positive.

Dr Goldie has written to the Prime Minister and state and territory premiers requesting an urgent meeting. The letter includes 42 “urgent policy recommendations”.

The first request is that the government provide free rapid antigen tests for all.

Currently the tests are free for people at testing clinics who are required to get tested (close contacts or symptomatic people when directed), and for concession card holders over a three-month period, with these people able to collect up to 10 kits from pharmacies. They can get five free tests per month.

ACOSS wants the government to mail a “sufficient quantity” of RATs directly to concession card holders homes.

Report: Sick Employees, Truckers to Blame for Empty Shelves in Grocery Stores

Although President Joe Biden’s policies on ending the coronavirus pandemic and fixing supply chain problems are failing, the media are blaming American workers for empty shelves in grocery stores.

“Empty shelves have returned at supermarkets as grocery employees call out sick and truckloads of food arrive late,” CNBC said in a report that said nothing about Biden’s policies or Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s responsibilities.

Buttigieg held a press conference on Tuesday claiming he and others in Biden’s regime saved Christmas by making sure presents were under the tree.

Albertsons grocery chain said in its earnings report call with reporters that its stock price fell and blamed it on “supply chain challenges and inflated costs,” CNBC reported.

Grocery store workers are struggling to help customers, CNBC said:

Some shoppers have less money to spend, too. The child tax credit, which gave families monthly payments, ended in December.

Albertsons officials said costs have gone up across the board, including the price for ingredients, packaging, transportation, and labor.
