ATTN ALL ANONS

 

Have been discussing in several breads the idea of having ONE SINGLE BANNER for the General Breads so far (>>15575312 in #19696, >>15581152 in #19703). We had this once and it worked well – anons seemed proud of the banner until then. Later a baker decided to vary the banner, and did it wo/asking anons for their input. After that, there was no one banner used. Some of the variations captured the same spirit of freedom as the original, but others were pretty cringy.

 

Issue came to a head in a recent bread where baker posted Papi on the banner, which was controversial because anons vary is their ideas about him. So not a universal symbol. Heated discussion arose.

The only way we can see to support that idea is to have a SINGLE BANNER once again. One adopted based on anon input. The main objection raised was that it stifles the creative expression of bakers. So we did decide to do a contest to pick a single image.
