US Advisers At Work In Ukrainian Defense Ministry

Washington decided to send special advisers to work with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry – and Kiev accepted it. Apparently, the new officials will work permanently at Ukrainian government headquarters, which means that their advice and reports will have priority status in the face of decisions taken in Kiev from now on. The measure is part of a list of recent American incursions into the Ukrainian issue, which also includes the sending of equipment and weapons. In fact, once again, Washington shows interest in taking an anti-diplomatic line, to the detriment of negotiations with Russia.

In a recent post made by the Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on a social network, it is possible to read: “On January 11, 2022, US advisers Chris Rizzo and Todd Brown began working in the Defense Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on a permanent basis”. At a later time, the Directorate mentions the fact that the main responsibilities of the new advisors include advising the Ukrainian government in the implementation of defense measures and gradually promoting Euro-Atlantic integration.

It is nothing new that US agents are constantly working with the Ukrainian government in the defense policy decision-making process. Most of the actions taken by the Ukrainian government in this regard are beneficial to the US, and Kiev certainly implements them under strong influence from Washington. However, by accepting to receive American advisers who will work publicly for the government, Kiev is taking a riskier step, practically unifying its defense policy with Washington, which could have serious consequences for the very image of the Ukrainian state – which will be less and less seen as a sovereign state.

In fact, what is happening now seems to be an extreme consequence of the constant search for integration with the West, initiated by Ukraine some years ago, in 2014, after the Maidan. Kiev plays a role of regional US satellite, acting as a destabilizing agent in the Russian strategic environment, and serving American interests in every way possible. And now, the last stage of this process appears to be taking place, with the Ukrainian government employing foreign advisers to tell Zelesnky’s team “what to do” about defense issues.

In addition to sending advisers, the US is also “helping” Ukraine in another way: sending weapons and military equipment. Recent reports indicate that a package of secret military aid is to be sent to Ukraine, with modern war equipment, mainly naval material, valued at more than 200 million dollars.

Chinese Gov’t Propagandists Promote Olympics at Washington Capitals Game

Fans of the Washington Capitals hockey team were treated to a full-blown Chinese propaganda campaign during the team's blowout loss on Monday.

Chinese ambassador Qin Gang appeared on the Capital One Arena jumbotron during the game to promote next month's Olympics in Beijing, which will be diplomatically boycotted by the United States and other Western nations over China's human rights abuses. A correspondent for China Global Television Network (CGTN), a state-controlled propaganda outlet, distributed plush toys to fans and recruited Capitals mascot Slapshot to toss Chinese souvenirs into the crowd. The propaganda outlet also interviewed Capitals fans about their favorite Olympic events.

The Capitals did not respond to questions about whether the Chinese government or CGTN paid the team for the promotion, which was put on by the Chinese embassy. A team spokesman said the "select in-game and post-game activations, including a Washington, D.C.-based youth figure skating group, highlighted the Chinese Lunar New Year for programming that aired on CGTN."

The promotional event is the latest push in China's aggressive campaign to win support for its Olympics amid growing calls to boycott the games. Human rights groups have urged television networks and corporate sponsors to pull out of the games because of China's ongoing genocide against Muslims in the Xinjiang province.

The event also showcases American professional sports leagues' willingness to appease the Chinese Communist Party, likely in the hopes of entering the large and lucrative Chinese market. The National Football League came under fire for a marketing map that showed Taiwan as a part of China, and the National Basketball Association has had numerous scandals due to its association with the Chinese Communist Party. Major League Baseball has come under congressional scrutiny for its plan to export jobs to China.

The National Hockey League has also sought access to the Chinese market. That initiative has been led on the Chinese side by Zhou Yunjie, the owner of ORG Packaging, a company that makes metal cans. ORG Packaging's ads were featured at the Capitals game. Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, also had its ads posted at the arena.

Among the wealthy owners of the team is Laurene Powell Jobs, who sits on an $18 billion fortune that was built on the back of cheap Chinese labor. Tech giant Apple, founded by her late husband Steve Jobs, has long manufactured its products in China. The company was caught last year relying on Chinese factories that use slave labor, and spent money to lobby against congressional legislation aimed at punishing China for its use of slave labor.

Desperate to burnish its image in the West, the Chinese government has used a variety of platforms to spread its propaganda. State-controlled media outlets like China Daily have paid millions of dollars to American newspapers and magazines in the United States to publish pro-Beijing articles. The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Chinese consulate in New York plans to pay the public relations firm Vippi Media $300,000 to hire social media influencers to promote the Olympics.

This is not the Capitals' first brush with authoritarian regimes. The franchise came under scrutiny when its star player, Alex Ovechkin, declared the Capitals to be "Putin's team," a reference to Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.

Turkey Helped Instigate Uprising In Kazakhstan To Advance “Great Turan” Project

Ankara is seemingly more emboldened than ever as early signs show that the bloody unrest that engulfed Kazakhstan had significant Turkish involvement, not only through its intelligence services, but also through Kazakhstan’s Turkey-oriented politicians and business community.

The Kazakh elite, led by its leader Nursultan Nazarbayev, expedited the development of multilateral relations and established an alliance with Ankara. This alliance was cultivated under the formula of a “multi-vector course”, with inspiration of a supranational entity called “Great Turan.”

“Great Turan” is a relatively new concept born out of fringe nationalist movements that opposed the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. It was also propelled in Turkey by Kemalist ideology to Turkify Anatolian Muslims and Christians alike. Today, one of the greatest champions of a “Great Turan” – the ideology of unifying Turkic-speaking people from the Balkans to Siberia and Xinjiang, is Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

It is recalled that when speaking to the Organization of Turkic States, Erdoğan said: “Turkistan is our ancestral home, our main hearth. We are a very large family of 300 million people who speak the same language, believe in the same religion, have the same history, culture, share the same civilization. I know that our Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik and Turkmen brothers look at Turkey the same way we do. They consider Turkey their home.”

Turkey has consistently worked towards this “Great Turan” project since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire left the country as a rump state in Anatolia. First was the 1939 grab of Liwa Iskenderun, now Hatay Province, from Syria. Then there was the 1974 invasion of northern Cyprus. The 2010’s saw more areas of northern Syria occupied by Turkey. Next was Turkey’s direct assistance to Azerbaijan’s 2020 invasion of Nagorno-Karabakh as the two country’s share the ideology of “one nation, two states. ”Azerbaijan is important for Turkey as it is the country’s gateway to Central Asia and its riches, especially Kazakhstan with its innumerable natural resources. Uranium ore deposits alone, as an example, are estimated at more than 40% of the world’s total.

For Ankara to become a dominant force in Central Asia, it must break Russia’s influence, and in this way has been engaged in a number of projects to propel this. This includes encouraging Kazakhstan’s switch from the Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet. Also, about a hundred mosques and madrasahs have been built in Kazakhstan with Turkish funding to Islamize the country and break it from its Soviet-era secularism.

More than 200 officers of the Kazakh army graduated from Turkish military institutions. Annually, hundreds of Kazakh military personnel, including the highest echelon of the military leadership, are sent to Turkey to improve their professional training for short-term courses. In recent years, Kazakhstan has actively purchased Turkish-made infantry fighting and armored vehicles, and is keen to purchase bayraktar drones.

Big Tech In The US: What To Expect When Top Leaders Meet With Joe Biden

A virtual meeting is set for Thursday between White House officials, the Defense Department, the Department of Homeland Security and executives from major tech companies like Amazon, Meta, IBM and Microsoft.

The meeting will touch on a crucial vulnerability that could have affected hundreds of millions of devices last month. The focus will be on how to make open-source computer code more secure.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s letter to chief executives of tech firms stated that the matter is a “key national security concern."

Reuters reports that the meeting will be hosted by deputy national security advisor for cyber and emerging technology Anne Neuberger. The Biden administration has made cybersecurity a priority after data breaches in the 2016 presidential election and for multinational corporations.

Also attending the meeting are two open-source software organizations: Linux and volunteer-run Apache. The latter handles Log4j, which many organizations use to log data in their applications. In December, it was discovered that there was an easy-to-exploit bug in Log4j.

While there is no evidence federal agencies have been breached, the scale of the vulnerability and its impact is yet to be found given that Log4j is a widely used software. As security ramps up, so will efforts by hackers to break that security.

The meeting comes as the White House said Wednesday that it was happy with Washington, D.C., judge James Boasberg’s decision to not dismiss the Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust lawsuit against Facebook. The lawsuit asks that Facebook, now known as Meta Platforms Inc., sell Instagram and WhatsApp to break up tech monopolies.

As the group boasts, it co-hosts programs with the Party School of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party – “the supreme ideological training ground for party cadres and a prerequisite for any official interested in joining the elite political ranks of China’s ruling class” according to Foreign Policy magazine.

USCET has also partnered with “more than 70 of China’s top universities” and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, which has seen affiliated researchers lose American visas due to “spying fears” from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

What’s more, the group holds conferences that have repeatedly enjoyed participation from the Secretary-General of the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), an organization that is part of the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front effort which, according to the U.S. government, aims to “co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

The group’s former Executive Director Paul Boesen also served as a Senior Adviser to the U.S.-China Strong Foundation, which works with Confucius Institutes and is funded in part by the Bank of China.

Catholic ‘fact-checking’ group pushing COVID jabs linked to Gates, Soros, Pontifical Academy for Life==

The 'International Catholic Media Consortium on COVID-19 Vaccines' seeks to 'clarify fake news and misleading information' on COVID jabs, and is tied to tech giant Google.

A Catholic “fact-checking” group which clarifies “fake news and misleading information about vaccines against COVID-19” and defends the abortion-tainted injections, receives funding from Google and is linked to Bill Gates, George Soros, and the Pontifical Academy for Life.

The recently formed organization catholic-factchecking.com, also known as the International Catholic Media Consortium on Covid-19 Vaccines, has the aim to “clarify fake news and misleading information about vaccines against COVID-19.”

To achieve this, as noted by Church Militant, the group is comprised of an “international consortium of Catholic media, news agencies and world-renowned scientists.”

The consortium seeks to respond to the “many scientific and ethical questions” which are being raised “regarding the ethical character of the process of producing the vaccines.”

“These issues need to be clarified or explained by scientists, bioethicists, and theologians,” the group adds.

The Consortium defends the use of the abortion-tainted COVID jabs, attacks natural immunity, and criticizes the concept of seeking a religious exemption to jab mandates.

In turn, Eric Sammons, editor in chief of Crisis Magazine, soundly criticized the group as being “funded by Google to push the COVID vaccines (and silence opposing views).”

Its very existence is due thanks to funding from tech giant Google, which has a long history of censoring views which run contrary to the predominant narrative, particularly relating to COVID-19.

The Consortium reveals that it was one of eleven proposals (out of 309) chosen by the “the impartial jury of the COVID-19 Vaccine Counter-Misinformation Open Fund, granted by Google News Initiative.”

The Google News Initiative has set aside $3 million to “support additional debunking efforts” to combat “falsehoods” found online regarding the COVID-19 injections.

A jury of 14 people chose the 11 winning proposals, which included employees from Google, Christian Medical College, the World Health Organization, the International Fact-Checking Network, and Vaccinate Your Family.

A Washington Post columnist lambasted the vaccine-hesitant and praised French President Emmanuel Macron in a Tuesday piece titled, "Macron is right: It’s time to make life a living hell for anti-vaxxers."

James McAuley, global opinions contributing columnist for the Post, recounted Macron's headline-grabbing statements from last week in which he said he intended to push the unvaccinated out of public life in France until they get the jabs.

"The unvaccinated, I really want to piss them off. And so, we're going to continue doing so, until the end. That's the strategy," Macron told newspaper Le Parisien in an interview, Reuters reported.

McAuley seemed to enjoy Macron's actual word choice, noting that "the English translation hardly does the comment justice. In French, the verb he used is 'emmerder,' which means, quite literally, to cover in excrement."

He soon added that Macron "happens to be totally right. There is no justifiable excuse for refusing vaccination, which is the only way the pandemic will ever come close to ending. Macron has set a fine example for other world leaders to follow in refusing to kowtow before ignorance or honor selfishness."

McAuley added that Macron's vulgar commentary, which a number of his opponents denounced, "already seems to have worked. In a statement posted along with the video, Khamenei is quoted as telling Soleimani’s family that “Martyr Soleimani is permanent, he is alive forever.”

3: CBDCs that fail to adhere to these three basic principles could enable an entity like the Federal Reserve to mobilize itself into a retail bank, collect personally identifiable information on users, and track their transactions indefinitely.

4: Not only does this CBDC model raise “single point of failure” issues, leaving Americans’ financial information vulnerable to attack, but it could be used as a surveillance tool that Americans should never be forced to tolerate from their own government.

5: Requiring users to open an account at the Fed to access a United States CBDC would put the Fed on an insidious path akin to China’s digital authoritarianism.

6: Any CBDC implemented by the Fed must be open, permissionless, and private. This means that any digital dollar must be accessible to all, transact on a blockchain that is transparent to all, and maintain the privacy elements of cash.

7: In order to maintain the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency in a digital age, it is important that the United States lead with a posture that prioritizes innovation and does not aim to compete with the private sector.
