CHICAGO: "Some Chicago Public Schools students aren't happy about the return to schools and are planning to walk out in protest Friday. At 12:30 p.m., students at 20 CPS schools are planning to walk out of school in protest over the return to in-person learning and head to CPS headquarters in the Loop. Savado is a Percy Julian High School student on the Far South Side. She is also member of Chicago Public Schools Radical Youth Alliance, the group organizing the walkout. Savado said they're demanding extra safety and support from CPS as COVID cases continue to surge. "KN-95 masks, COVID testing, opt-out so that we know that everyone right is getting COVID tested weekly, at least biweekly also," she said. Meanwhile, there have been student walkouts in other big cities. Boston is having one Friday and New York did it earlier this week."
