Hello, darkness, bugs’ old friend! Argentinian town infested with beetles
Jan 15, 2022
Due to unusually high rainfall and soaring heat, beetles have been reproducing in far larger numbers than normal in the province of La Pampa, much to the dismay of residents of the town of Santa Isabel. The municipality has been invaded by millions of insects, which has forced the switching-off of the streetlights that had been attracting them to nest in roofs, drains, and even the local police station. The authorities hope the move will persuade the bugs to look for another place to call home.

Pretty close to where that bat quarter came from
I used to work with a few Samoans and there was apparently some bad blood between them and the Tongans.
