I was a cynic by my mid twenties so I understand where you are coming from. Being 8 years your junior currently, I can assure you that if you are paying attention to all the right clues, you'll see evidence of a most magnificent plan at work. I'm not going to bother with piecing it together for you, though. That's half the fun of this, and quite frankly, you seem very capable of figuring it all out for yourself.
