A truly Bible-based faith would, in this context, see Jesus as the teacher and the students would be taught to listen to Him, Anon.
Chapter 23 of Matthew is quite instructive with respect to the churches of today. One can read Christ's observations of the failings of the Pharisees and draw parallels to many aspects of modern faiths.
The night is well along; the day has drawn near. Let us therefore throw off the works belonging to darkness and let us put on the weapons of the light.
It's the only part of what Paul wrote there that I agree with.
Much of what Jesus taught resonates with me. For that reason I follow his teachings and try to be a good person in the way that he instructed. Paul did not know Christ and his writings reflect that.
