Any anons here who are experiencing despair, rage, and/or other understandable but ultimately unhelpful and possibly toxic feels, I want to tell you, I can relate. I'd also like to make a suggestion, one that has helped me through some dark days. It's pretty simple and straightforward. If you have time to listen to some long-format interviews, say while you're doing work around the house or whatnot, anything that doesn't require too much focus … if you can manage such time and space for attention, listen to interviews of war veterans. All the shit sandwiches they had to eat, all the horrors they went through, some on a more or less daily basis. I like the Vietnam vet interviews because of the special kind of mindfuckery they had to deal with in that era. A lot of them knew how badly they were getting fucked, but they did it anyway, and lived to tell their stories with dignity and humor. Listening to them gives me perspective and calms me the fuck down. I suggest it could do the same for you. These interviews are readily found on Jewtube, but I can recommend the Billings Gazette Vietnam Voices series as a starting point. Keep up the good fights, both outer and inner, and o7.
