As long as there aren't too many Marines adding to the island's population the island of 'I don't know how many square miles' should withstand waves of water, so long as there are no Marines in those waves.
Yesterday on day shift we had a similar series showing 'melted' clocks with Dali's 'Persistence of Memory' imagery. The point was similar: previous clocks are obsolete so update (renew) your maps.
