Based on previous tests, if it was a submerged nuclear blast the sound waves would go around the world ocean at least twice and it would be easy to identify on seismographs.

Recall the russian satellite debris that came down last wak? They didn't want anybody to know what it was. Tonga trench was one of the possible LZs. There was a lot of debris, not one unit.
