Yup.
This place's main purpose is to provide relevant information at crunch time. Relevant information is obvious because it is, in and of itself, recognizably informative by virtue of it's message alone. There is a base of very authoritative people who post when they have to. Authoritative in this sense means who ever is saying it is correct. Being correct is the basis of being an authority. This has been bastardized by TPTP to equate to position and/or titles, but cutting to the chase, it actually refers to people who know what the fuck they're talking about.
That point being made, these particular people aren't chat room junkies. They may monitor to see if there are any clues to a possible SHTF on the horizon, but don't post for shits and giggles.
When the time is right, the autists will come riding over the hill. If this board is FUBAR because of small change bullshit, They'll move somewhere else and start from scratch, locking the chatters out for the duration. Happened enough times before. We all started on half. This iteration was brought about by a Q fuck this shit moment, IIRC.
So filter and hurry up and wait. If I'm on a Yankees board and someone wants to tell me how good the Red Sox are, I'd filter too. No difference here. Free speech means you can run your mouth, not that I have to listen to it.
Authorities only have to say something once, also. If no one is buying their shit after 40 or so breads that's all anyone needs to realize it's bullshit.
