Some of the older Marines know of him, but for those old or young that haven’t, they are very often interested to find out about him.

Not much any more, but years ago i would encounter older Marines that said they had actually been taught abut him in boot camp, so they said. Would seem to fit, two time Congressional Medal of Honor recipients are kinda rare.
In today’s Woke Military, with THIS Congress, and highly suspect Federal Government… i can see why very very few young service members would be told about him.

Wish i could say thanks for the compliment and ‘ur welcome’. However the closest thing i can lay claim to, was pointing out the corruption when i was there, which you can imagine didn’t win me many friends and certainly no accolades.

In so many words, there really is something important to this. It is what is behind the concept of a genuinely Voluntary armed force. I do strongly believe that the paycheckand perks (to include OVER-thanking for ‘serving’) has greatly distorted the ability of young people to clearly think about the activity they ‘sign up for’.
If We as a nation invested one one thousandth the effort and treasure spent on current ‘Military’, and instead INFORMED young minds honestly about our country and the world we live on… and ONE iron sight rifle to take home… We would be truly invincible, prosperous and VERY happy.

More true than not.
Humons, be we ‘created’, ‘evolved’ and/or any combination thereof… have a meat suit capable of enduring and withstanding VASTLY more dirty and difficult environments than our current crop has any idea of. The human body IS very difficult to kill… and capable of extreme deprivations and damage repair. Our culture today is denied this information. For whatever reasons i do not know… except maybe to lower our mental stamina and make us ‘give up’ psychologically, whereas our bodies are still preparing to fight on and on and on and on….
