Banner Contest Results: not an image or a pool but a few criteria

We used to have one banner for all. Most anons liked and supported that.

Things change. But if the change is too much or doesn't represent enough anons, there are problems – that's how we got here.

THE CONTEST IDEA WAS FIRST SET INTO MOTION 16 MONTHS AGO.

On Nov 1 2020, #14543 - Baker changed the General Image. Baker's argument:

"I am hoping meme fags will use the dough post image as a template to start with."

"May the best banner win."

MAY THE BEST BANNER WIN.

THE GENERAL BANNER REPRESENTS US ALL.

Constructive changes to it preserve a common vision and avoid banner slides. Less constructive changes do the opposite.

The banner is not the personal property of the baker who uses it –

once it's posted, it's something we share.

OUTCOME:

Instead of a single banner or a pool,

we've used the results to develop SEVERAL SIMPLE CRITERIA .

Any banner that satisfies the criteria will work.

Examples are capped, but anons can develop new banners based on the guidelines.

CRITERIA:

The General Banner should

• be simple (no clutter)

• use Iwo Jima as the image (commemorative theme)

• easy to find in catalog (use B&W or muted colors – different from special threads)

• using a good aspect ratio (16:9 or similar)

ALSO:

Banners can also

• use text with board name or not

• include MAGA lion or not

• include additional words ("for God & Country", etc.)

(The phrase should be something all anons can support)
