BOARD RESTORATION CHANGES WITH SOME HISTORY

When new admins took over on Jan 12, this board was in bad shape. Changes were made to clean it up. To newer anons, they may have looked entirely new. But most are not new – they were made to restore the board to a working condition.
The History
In July 2019, BO FastJack seized the board and gave bakers a new dough. Notables were to be by anons and not in the bread (special thread instead). Last two pages were radically reduced with no thread replacement. A coupla days later, all the bakers were fired. New bakers created muh joos bread titles. Anons protested to BO and then to Q – who said "revert" a week from the seizure ("why change a good thing?").
Within a half a day, the original dough was restored. Nothing was lost because the time frame was short.

In Fall 2020, OSS gained enough influence with FastJack to beginning an erosion of QR that lasted about 20x as long. Anons protested again to Q, who asked for admins to "clean up the ship." FJ hired some additional BVs. But nothing changed for the better. Over 15 months, two things happened:
1 - OSS made Globals and Notables a place to attack his 'enemies'
2 - OSS continued to gain influence, and consistently created the kind of chaos that enabled changes that we neither directed by admins nor discussed by anons – banner changes, dough changes, ban policy changes. Once he became BV, he started banning anons right and left literally "for no reason," making board access itself difficult due to the disappearance of working VPN IP's. By Jan 2022, he was the ONLY administrator active on QR.
Current Situation & Summary of Restorations
On Jan 12, FJ lost the board because he didn't bother to check in for three weeks.
This time, the task of restoration was more daunting because so much time had passed.
The task was to figure out what needed to be left alone, what needed to be completely restored as before, and what needed to be updated or partially updated. Also, what process to use – some changes were made by admins alone (restoring comms with 8kun admin), some with collaboration with bakers (dough format), and some with anon participation (banner discussion/contest).
QR META – Meta board had fallen into disuse, was restored as a place where bakers and anons could talk about board matters, both with each other and with BO. BO monitors the board regularly, at least once every 24 hours.
DOUGH - A new dough had been used by some bakers since Oct but not all. So the first task was to talk to bakers about creating a uniform dough. That's how we got the two-page dough with all the info originally on pgs 3-4 condensed to links on OP page 1. Bakers cooperated to make it so.
COMMS WITH 8KUN ADMIN – New admins worked with 8kun admin to restore the /tech/ so anons to do two things:
1 – request the restoration of old banned IPs
2 – turn in bug reports and feature requests
As a result, if admins need to ban bad actors (mainly OSS), anons have resource if they see their IP included in that ban.
CATALOG CLEANUP – The catalog was not really monitored at this point. Pinned threads were OSS' favorites, anons immediately began requesting changes – which were presented before they were made. At this point, the catalog is monitored. We had a problem with CP "pedo bear" from appearing in side threads and so asked those responsible for these threads to check them once a day.
RESOURCE THREADS – New resource threads have been added to the Catalog – Notable Videos, Q Graphics, How to Bake, Dough Resources, and others.
BANNER – QR originally had a single banner for Generals that was accepted by all. After conditions on QR deteriorated in Oct 2020, a couple of bakers said "no more 'Q_anon' on the banner." It soon became whatever baker decided it would be. When Papi appeared on a recent banner, controversy exploded. Admins discussed the situation on the board and from it, developed criteria designed to create banner options that captured the spirit of the original banner but still allowed anons to create variants.
GLOBALS – Until OSS took over, this is where admins and bakers made announcements of interest to the entire board. He used it instead to trash anons he didn't like (which he also did in Notables). Looks like bakers got rid of it as a result. Restored to its original purpose in Jan 2020.
BAKING PROTOCOLS – this includes handoff protocols and formatting for notables on second page of dough. Baking protocols had slipped, resulting in much confusion and too many e-bakes. The format on Notable Bun page 2 was almost all over the place, making it hard for aggregators (including Qresear.ch) to scrape notables. A Global appeared with traditional baking protocols, so that newer bakers would know how they worked; another detailed ways to format notable buns in a consistent way, so scrapers can scrape.
NOTABLES CONTENT – Notables were ALWAYS for news and other reports external to board matters and everyone knew it – until OSS. He laced Notables with posts reflecting his personal likes and dislikes – hit pieces on his 'enemies', muh joos stuff like the Zion Protocols, and other junk. Some newer bakers followed suit. Hence, the recent admin Global saying this is not appropriate.
