Actor Christian Bale (pictured above left), best-known for his role as Bruce Wayne and Batman in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, recently recalled the time he met Donald Trump — and admits he found the president amusing.

 

The two met in 2011 while Bale was at Trump Tower in Manhattan filming a scene for “The Dark Knight Rises,” the final chapter in his Batman trilogy.

 

Bale recalled the odd meeting with the future president while at the red carpet premiere of “Vice,” an upcoming film in which he stars as Dick Cheney, the former vice president.

 

He [Trump] said, ‘Come on up to the office,’” recalled Bale. “I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really.It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at that time he would think about running for president.”

 

“The Dark Knight Rises” used exterior shots of Trump Tower as the headquarters for Wayne Enterprises(the character Bruce Wayne’s company).

 

The character of Bruce Wayne is that of a billionaire whose parents are killed in a mugging when he is young. He later fights crime in the fictional city of Gotham. Other actors to have played the part include the late Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Ben Affleck.

 

The president showed support for Bale’s Batman film on Twitter when it came out in 2012.
