Canadian Government Ready to Sabotage Successful Freedom Convoy 2022

Somewhere deep in an underground bunker over the weekend, Canada’s inglorious Prime Minister was tweeting out messages to his followers to come to his aid—tout de suite! “Immediately,” en anglais!

Red-hot angry, resentful beyond belief; filled to the brim with stored-up spite, the Canadian government’s leader has already gone into hiding under cover of Covid isolation protocol.

Someone must pay the price for the public humiliation of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and that “someone” are the truckers and supporters who defied him with blaring truck horns and repeated chants of “FREEDOM!” out in the freezing Ottawa cold.

How dare the truckers warn the masses of the shortage of over-the-border food delivery in a Supply Chain fiasco caused by Canadian and U.S. leaders—and defiantly do so right in front of The Land of the Maple Leaf’s Parliament buildings!

Never mind that Trudeau and his liberal cabal have been in those buildings only 19 days since June 23, 2021.

Canada Trucker Protests Explained: How 'Freedom Convoy' Became Symbol of Vaccine Resistance

Jack Dutton - January 31, 2022

housands of Canadian truckers and their supporters have descended on Ottawa to protest Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's COVID-19 vaccine mandates, bringing the country's capital to a standstill.

After a week-long drive across Canada a huge "Freedom Convoy" of big rigs arrived in Ottawa late on Friday afternoon, blocking roads and causing chaos in Canada's capital. Truckers are protesting a vaccine mandate for the industry brought in by Trudeau, whereby truckers will have to be vaccinated to cross the Canadian-U.S. border. Under the measures, which were implemented on January 15, unvaccinated cross-border truckers have to quarantine when returning home.

Upset with the new law, a coalition of truckers and conservative groups organized a national drive that began in Alberta. The convoy ended outside Parliament in Ottawa over the weekend. As the convoy drove east, it picked up support along the way.

Over the weekend, thousands of protesters gathered on Parliament Hill, while convoys of trucks blocked the streets downtown. Other supporting truckers also blocked a border highway into the United States.

A GoFundMe campaign to support the truckers has raised, as of Monday, more than C$9m ($7.1m) from over 112,000 donors. But CBC News reported Friday that at least one-third of those donations came from anonymous donors or put down fake names.

Social media images show many truckers carrying Canadian flags and holding up placards that insult Trudeau. Some videos of the protest went viral.

However, Ottawa police said they are investigating several criminal incidents in connection with the protests, including into footage of a woman dancing on a military veteran's tomb and the appearance of Nazi swastika flags at the demonstrations. Defence Minister Anita Anand called the incidents "beyond reprehensible."

In a statement through their Twitter page, Ottawa Police said on Sunday: "Several criminal investigations are underway in relation to the desecration of the National War Memorial/Terry Fox statue, threatening/illegal/intimidating behavior to police/city workers and other individuals and damage to a city vehicle.

"Illegal behavior will not be tolerated and will be fully investigated. We have investigative and evidence-gathering teams in place to support the management of the demonstration."

CBC reported Sunday that Trudeau and his family left their downtown Ottawa home to move to a secret location, due to security concerns.

Shepherds of Good Hope, a soup kitchen in the city, said on Sunday that protesters harassed some of their staff, demanding free meals after they were turned away by restaurants for their refusal to wear a mask indoors.

Friends, it's been a difficult 24 hours. Staff harassed for meals. A service user and security guard assaulted. Through it all, you have donated and filled our hearts with gratitude. Every cent will support people experiencing homelessness. Thank you. See our statement ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/TYHD8r8aLo

Experts have also warned that some of the movement's most vocal supporters have espoused anti-Semitic, Islamophobic and other racist views.

"The 'Freedom Convoy' is nothing but a vehicle for the far-right," the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, a non-profit that monitors hate groups, said on its website on Saturday. "They say it is about truckers … but if you look at its organizers and promoters, you'll find Islamophobia, antisemitism, racism, and incitements to violence."

Newsweek has contacted Tamara Lich, the organizer of the fundraiser, for comment on these allegations.

Almost 90 percent of Canada's 120,000 cross-border truckers and 77 percent of the country's entire population have had two COVID-19 vaccination shots, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said.

Dozens of videos on social media showing the Canadian truckers protest have gone viral, as thousands remain in the capital Ottawa to protest.

The exactly number of protesters is not known.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance, a federation of provincial trucking associations, distanced itself from the movement, saying it "does not support and strongly disapproves of any protests on public roadways, highways, and bridges."

Canada’s Trudeau says he will not be intimidated by abuse at truckers’ protest

By David Ljunggren Posted on January 31, 2022

By David Ljunggren and Steve Scherer

OTTAWA (Reuters) -Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said Canadians were disgusted by the behavior of some people protesting against COVID-19 vaccine mandates in Ottawa and said he would not be intimidated by those hurling abuse.

Dozens of trucks and other vehicles have jammed up central Ottawa since Friday and thousands descended upon Parliament Hill to complain about Trudeau and COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Police said most demonstrators have been peaceful but local residents complain they are fed up with the non-stop blaring of truck horns and demonstrators using the streets as an open-air toilet. Some also forced a homeless shelter to give them food – the shelter said on Twitter – while others flew Nazi flags.

“We are not intimated by those who hurl abuse at small business workers and steal food from the homeless,” Trudeau told a news conference.

“We won’t give in to those who fly racist flags. We won’t cave to those who engage in vandalism … There is no place in our country for threats, violence, or hatred,” he added.

Senior members of the official opposition Conservative Party, which last year lost its third consecutive election to Trudeau’s Liberals, have praised the demonstrators.

Conservative leader Erin O’Toole, Trudeau said, “is going to need to reflect very carefully on how he’s walking a path that supports these people who do not represent truckers.”

Trudeau earlier announced he had contracted COVID-19 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-canada-trudeau-idCAKBN2K5191 but was feeling fine and would be working from home.

Police said some of the trucks should start leaving on Monday, even as some protesters insisted they would stay.

Canada Unity, one of the groups involved, said it wanted to gather 1,000 people to go into a mall and shop without masks. The Rideau Centre, a large nearby mall, said it would be shut for a second day on Monday.

Ottawa mayor Jim Watson, speaking to reporters, condemned what he called the more extreme behavior.

“My message to the truckers is you’ve had your protest, you’ve had your rally, time to go back home,” he said.

The demonstration started as a protest against a vaccine requirement for cross-border drivers https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canadas-trudeau-slams-fear-mongering-over-covid-vaccine-mandate-truckers-2022-01-24, but then developed into a demonstration against the Trudeau government and its COVID policies.

Marian Tudor, who lives in Chilliwack, British Columbia, is an owner-operator of his truck and can no longer haul goods across the border because he is unvaccinated. He was parked in front of parliament with a trailer full of food, suggesting he planned a long stay.

Tudor, 61, said he was willing to stay “as long as it takes, until we get these mandates removed for everybody, not only for the truckers.”

Tudor accused the government is using “fake science,” adding that Trudeau “better stop his draconian measures, because he stands on the wrong side of the history.”

Police said on Friday they would start towing trucks on Monday if necessary. But by late on Sunday they said they had avoided ticketing and towing vehicles to avoid provoking confrontations with demonstrators.
