Catalog cleanup

 

Previous Admins sticked (pinned) a lot of threads.

This makes is hard for anons to find the current General thread (which is the most accessed)."

It's also a headache for phonefags or those using the Index.

 

Current Admins went through all the pinned threads to see their status.

Most of them are pretty active. Unpinning will not cause them to go off the catalog

(especially since it has been expanded back to 40 llines). All it will mean is that they are

a few lines further down.

 

Some threads may be consolidated (perhaps the video threads) but that's not for sure,

checking with the video anons to see what is practical.

 

We are also looking to see what can be done to resurrect our QMap and Q Proofs threads,

which remain pinned.

 

We will probably end up with 3 new threads:

  • Resource thread (with material with links from the dough),

  • Baking/Note-taking thread

  • Newfag thread (possible)

 

Plz post in here or in META if you have input.

I know from long experience how reluctant many anons are to bake. Especially when it's a "long wolf" situation.

 

Even note-taking can seem intimidating on such a big board that - even when slow - is still pretty fast.

 

I didn't want to bake. And didn't think i could. But there was no one else late at night, so i practiced. For a MONTH. Even then, didn't feel ready. Another baker had to give me the prod!

 

I did learn, and eventually found it was very rewarding, more than i can ever say.

 

We need bakers here.

We need note-takers too.

We know how to help the two work together, it's not brain science.

 

If you have ANY inclination to bake, please come by Meta. Talk to experienced bakers who can not only answer questions but walk you thru or help you shadow bake for the first time.

 

Staff can try to keep the shills at a dull roar but cannot create bakers out of thin air. Anons must come forward. We know there are bakers and noters out there. Don't be afraid to take the leap. We're here to catch ya.
