If Schumer had been reported running from the Senate chamber to the bathroom on 1/19/22, then I could see it being called a delta. But if that's all it is, then this "delta" is tenuous AF.

Nope. And yet Paul taught that God had put the pharoah in power. Because God never changes, so if it was true in Paul's day and age, then it would have been true in Moses's and true also now. Also God hardened the pharaoh's heart so that he couldn't come around and prevent future disasters to befall his country, even though according to Paul God had put him on the throne. Starting to see where this all goes?

>Nowhere in the Bible did it define 'government' as just anyone claiming its title

All right then. How does the Bible define 'government'?

>, which is how you're falsely 'interpreting' it.

I am just reading it literally, as I was taught to do in church growing up.

>And the Koran says to kill all Infidels, non-Muslims. Will you be pointing that out as well?

No, because that's not nearly as interesting as taking Biblefags to task on Romans 13.

I was raised in church, always getting kicked out of Sunday school for asking pesky questions. And a lot of our country's woes can be laid at the feet of Zionist Scofield Bible-thumpers who insist on the literal word-for-word truth and facticity of their tome. So I focus on Romans 13:1-7.

>the Exodus would not have commenced.

Which it didn't. Geographically and logistically impossible. The Bible is not a history book. It is a wisdom book from a time when history as we define it did not exist. But I digress.

>So I do not get your point of surrendering to the Potato, as we both agreed Moses had not surrendered.

I simply pointed to a passage in the Bible, written by the Apostle Paul, to the Romans, in which he commanded them to OBEY the ruling authorities, who were installed by God.

That is what the text says. I didn't write it, and I am not trying to wiggle out of it.

That is all.

Courts here in Korea already struck down a similar measure. Before they did, I was like, fuggit, I don't need warehouse stores anyway. Too bad I destroyed my Costco card.

It was only when I let go of my religious programming that I could see the beautiful parts of the Bible, like the realized wisdom you just described. I share a great deal in common with the Biblical worldview. I think mankind in general is pretty awful. I know that sin is real. I know that evil is real. I know that evil spirits are real. But I have also met people in villages in the hinterlands of the world who will never read a Bible in their lives, let alone any other book, and I cannot imagine how God could ever condemn them for their ignorance of a religion and a book that are rife with internal contradictions.

Paul says God commands you to obey the potato, because God put him there. It's as simple as that.

You're just bringing up a bunch of stuff that is in your mind as your mind relates to other parts of the Bible. I am focused on two points and two points only:

  1. Literalists who claim that the Bible is the word-for-word infallible revelation of God, and that it is therefore without contradiction;

  1. Romans 13:1-7.

You are pointing out other parts of the Bible that contradict point 2. Do keep going.

I am all for fair and balanced readings of the Bible recognizing that it is not literally word-for-word true.

My beef is with literalists and literalists only. Thumpers. o7.
