All that for a mild bug that kills almost nobody?
I guess I was given a lot as a child and told that it was all the inerrant, inviolable word of God.
I can quote scripture too. It is not ambiguous. But it does contradict other parts of the Bible as well as common sense.
Disobey the potato, disobey God.
Woman should never have been allowed to vote.
Now THAT is a prayer with hair on its chest.
>Is this really your argument?
No, genius. My argument is that if you are a Bible thumper and you disobey the potato, then you disobey the Bible. Clear?
All I did was quote Romans 13:1-7, and the message is unequivocal. God installed the governing authorities. Disobey them, disobey God. A kindergartner could understand it. Do you follow the Apostle Paul's injunctions to obey the ruling authorities? He didn't mince words. He didn't provide any provisos. He just said you have to obey whoever is in authority. You can't get around it.
Unless you admit that maybe the Bible is not without internal contradictions, and maybe Paul was writing that passage to a certain group of people in a certain time in certain circumstances, and those words don't apply to us, and therefore the Bible is not to be read literally as the word-for-word eternal revelation of God.
