Saw this article on yayhoo, it's a pretty good example of how the media skews and purposely misinterprets things people say, in order to push their own agenda.

Mitch McConnell says Black people vote just as much as 'Americans'

Prior to a vote to move the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to the Senate floor failed Wednesday, McConnell was asked by a reporter about concerns among voters of color.

"Well the concern is misplaced, because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans," McConnell responded.

ASKED BY A REPORTER about concerns among voters of color. SPECIFICALLY voters of color.

I think that Mitch's reply was to point out how those, "people of color," feel the need to point out they are AFRICAN Americans, and not just Americans like everyone else. We ALL come from different ethnic backgrounds, but most of us don't say we are English-Americans, or German-Americans, or Mexican-Americans, we are just Americans, because America is made up of EVERYBODY. Are there Afro-Germans? Mexican-Germans? You get the idea. We are Americans, and we are all in the same boat. Be best, regardless of ethnicity.
