Biden Authorizes Rush Deliveries Of US Weapons To Ukraine Via Baltic Allies

The Biden administration is pulling the trigger on sending anti-tank weapons and air defense systems into Ukraine in order assist in repelling any potential Russian invasion. Further the White House has "notified Congress it intends to send five Mi-17 Transport Helicopters to Ukraine, officials Say," according to The Wall Street Journal.

But this weapons transfer will not be done directly, instead, it will be facilitated through third party allies - namely Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. The proposed plan for some further limited military assistance to Ukraine was revealed earlier this week, but as of Thursday afternoon the administration has authorized it.

CBS News is also reporting that "U.S. officials confirmed to CBS News that the Biden administration had given permission to several NATO allies to send emergency shipments of U.S.-made weapons — including anti-tank missiles — to Ukraine to reinforce the country's defenses."

The report details, coming just a day after Biden said it was his "guess" that Putin is preparing to "move in" to Ukraine, that—

State Department sources said allies including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the U.K. were cleared to make "Third Party Transfers" of U.S.-made and supplied equipment to Ukraine, which one official described as part of a race "to get as much gear to the Ukrainians as quickly as possible."

Up to this point it's remained unclear the degree to which the administration might authorize any level of a military response. For years the US has already supplied Ukraine's army with military equipment, and has even had limited numbers of special forces in the country training Ukrainian counterpart forces.

Cuomo aide texted, ‘depends how you define bs’ when asked if groping claims true

One of Andrew Cuomo’s former staffers texted his friends that it “depends how you define bs” when asked if groping allegations made against the then-governor were true, documents released Thursday revealed.

Josh Vlasto’s text exchange and testimony were among the latest cache of files released by the New York Attorney General’s office in regards to last year’s sexual harassment probe that ultimately led to Cuomo resigning.

Vlasto, who worked as Cuomo’s chief of staff from 2013 to 2014 and helped his ex-boss smear the governor’s first accuser, was sent a Whatsapp text on March 13, 2021 asking: “Is the groping stuff all bs?” — meaning bulls—t.

The text, sent by an unidentified person, was in reference to Brittany Commisso’s allegations that Cuomo reached under her shirt and groped her in Albany’s Executive Mansion.

Commisso’s allegation led to a misdemeanor criminal complaint being filed against the disgraced former governor — but it was dropped earlier this month.

“Depends how you define BS,” Vlasto responded to the text.

Someone replied: “Under the shirt is legit.”

During his testimony, Vlasto dismissed the text exchange as a “silly WhatsApp chat with my college friends.”

When asked to clarify what he meant by investigator Abena Mainoo of Clear, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP, when he said it depended on the definition, Vlasto said: “Meaning if they were telling the truth or not. Is it more severe or less severe.”

He added: “It is just being glib on a text. Not putting too much effort on a Saturday at 4 in the afternoon what I’m saying to folks.”

Vlasto testified that he didn’t know which of his friends stated that groping under the shirt was “legit.”

“But I think he was probably just suggesting if the Gov were to do that, that would be a serious problem,” he explained.

“Do you agree with that?” asked Mainoo.

“Yes,” responded Vlasto.

Vlasto abruptly left his job as a managing director at Kivvit — a politically connected public relations firm — after he was named in the attorney general’s scathing report as part of Cuomo’s “inner circle.”

Swimming Australia has issued an unreserved apology to women and girls in the sport after a scathing independent investigation.

Swimming Australia has issued an “unreserved apology” for the way women and girls have been treated in the past after receiving the results of a six-month independent investigation, which included accounts that were “difficult to read”.

The sporting body has now received the report and recommendations from the independent review that was commissioned in June last year after a number of female swimmers spoke out.

“The feedback was open and frank and there were experiences recounted that were difficult to read,” it said in a statement.

“We want to reassure those who came forward that the sport is committed to change to ensure these negative experiences are not repeated and apologise unreservedly to those impacted.”

The comprehensive investigation heard from more than 150 participants in the sport spanning former and current athletes, parents, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and administrators.

Swimming Australia said the full report would remain confidential but it has released the entire list of 46 recommendations made by the independent panel.

One of those recommendations was that Swimming Australia “strongly considers publicly releasing this report in full”.

The panel was made up of high-profile barrister Chris Ronalds SC, former track and road cyclist Katherine Bates and Alex Parker, the executive director at the Institute for Health and Sport at Victoria University.

Coroner to investigate death of babywithCovid in regional NSW

Authorities have confirmed a baby died with Covid in regional NSW last month, as the state marked its deadliest day of the pandemic so far.

An eight-week old baby has died with coronavirus in regional NSW in what is believed to be Australia’s youngest Covid-related fatality.

The infant died in a local hospital in the Hunter Region in December, with the death confirmed by authorities on Friday.

NSW Health chief health officer Kerry Chant said the death had been referred to the Coroner for investigation and the findings would eventually be publicly released.

“The Coroner and forensic pathologists are working very hard to get the answers that most importantly, the family wants and the clinicians want in terms of this child and the contribution that Covid may or may not have made to its death,” she told reporters.

She said there was strong public interest in the baby’s death and NSW Health was committed to making known the outcome of the coronial investigation.

“But our priority will be that the coroner will inform the family, the family will have the time to talk to the clinicians about the implications of the findings and then we will release it publicly given the significant interest in this case,” she said.

Yesterday’s hearing built on those findings and presented more questions for the Wisconsin Elections Commission, which has failed to answer previous questions on the 2020 election.

“This hearing really was to respond to the Wisconsin Elections Commission’s response and really, what it showed is that their response was insufficient,” said OANN correspondent Christina Bobb.

Russian Communists want to up the ante with Ukraine

Party leader Gennady Zyuganov pens resolution to recognise the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as independent

It would be “morally justified” for Russia to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to save the people from “genocide,” a group of Russian Communist MPs claimed on Wednesday.

Led by party head Gennady Zyuganov, politicians from the country’s largest opposition party penned a draft resolution calling on parliament to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to proclaim the two areas in east Ukraine as independent nations and asked the government to provide “humanitarian aid” to the region.

Separatists in the two self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) declared independence in 2014, following the events of the Maidan when violent street protests toppled a democratically elected government in Kiev.

Both of the states remain unrecognized by both Moscow and Kiev, despite calls from some in Russia to support their cause. Putin has repeatedly refused to do so in the past, noting that they are part of Ukraine.

Now, with tensions between Ukraine and Russia at an all-time high, the Communists have again proposed that Moscow hold negotiations to formally recognize the DPR and LPR. In the draft decree, the MPs called the recognition of the self-proclaimed republics “reasonable and morally justified,” suggesting that the people living there are threatened by “genocide.” There was no evidence presented to suggest that mass murder is a serious threat.

In addition, the politicians reported that locals living in the DPR and LPR have been living under constant shelling from Ukrainian forces for eight years.

“The Ukrainian authorities have stopped paying pensions and social benefits and imposed a complete economic blockade on the population and enterprises of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics,” the document reads. “The actions of the Ukrainian authorities can well be compared to the genocide of its people.”

The Communist MPs also claimed that “democratic bodies and governments with all the attributes of legitimate power have been built” in both the DPR and LPR since 2014.

In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that he had not seen the draft bill and could not comment.

In 2015, the leaders of Russia, Germany, France, and Ukraine came together in Minsk to agree on a package of measures meant to stop fighting in the Donbass. After lengthy discussions, the four nations agreed on a 13-point document meant to ensure peace in the region. Included in the document is a pledge by Ukraine to amend the country’s constitution to include extra autonomy for the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, which are majority Russian-speaking.

Top Schumer Aide Deletes Account After National Pulse Receipts

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s Deputy Director of Digital Media Caroline Burns deleted her entire Twitter account following a National Pulse exposé revealing old gay-bashing tweets, including use of the word “faggot.”

Since May 2020, Burns has worked as a top communications aide in the office of New York Senator Chuck Schumer, who has frequently criticized Republicans for allegedly attacking LGBT people.

The unearthing of the Schumer aide’s posts follows the Senator explicitly using his social media accounts to speak out against “homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia.”

Despite the Senate Majority leader’s public stance and posturing, however, his office has yet to respond to The National Pulse’s request for comment. It is unclear whether Burns still holds a position in Senator Schumer’s office.

Following the National Pulse unearthing tweets – including “[K]ill me I hate this fag” and “[Y]oure a faggot” – Burns responded by erasing her entire Twitter account, which was verified and contained thousands of posts. Burns started wiping her account just minutes after the story’s publication.

In another post from June 2013, Burns appears to quote a conversation with a new roommate where someone says “my biggest fear was that you’d be gay”.

In June 2011, Burns shared the following post appearing to describe a potential Twitter username as “gay”:

“all the cool asian rhyming ones are taken haha so not really. my friend like tweetcaroline like sweet caroline but that’s gay”

The aforementioned posts have all been erased; however, archived versions of the gay-bashing tweets are still available.

Despite the Schumer office’s silence on the tweets, individuals including Donald Trump Jr. tweeted “Yikes. Does this person still work for #Schumer and the senate Dems? Will they stand for this flagrant homophobia???,” tweeted Donald Trump Jr. in response to the story.

Senior FBI Official Caught Abusing Authority, Lies to Inspector General – Corrupt DOJ Declines to Criminally Prosecute

The Office of Inspector General on Thursday released its findings of misconduct by a senior FBI official for failure to timely report a romantic relationship with a subordinate.

The Senior FBI official then lied to the Inspector General about abusing his authority and intimidating a subordinate.

“The OIG investigation substantiated the allegations that the Senior Official engaged in a romantic relationship with a subordinate and failed to timely report the relationship, in violation of FBI policy. The OIG also found that the Senior Official violated FBI policy by participating in two hiring or organizational decisions involving the subordinate without receiving prior approval. In addition, the OIG found that the Senior Official allowed the relationship to negatively affect a professional and appropriate supervisor-subordinate relationship, adversely affect the FBI’s mission, and disrupt workplace morale, by, among other things, causing the subordinate to believe that the subordinate’s career was being impacted due to missed opportunities and sending text messages and emails to the subordinate that disparaged the subordinate’s immediate supervisor and the Senior Official’s other subordinates, all in violation of FBI policy,” the OIG wrote in a summary.

The OIG revealed the Senior FBI official interfered with a traffic incident involving the subordinate then lied about it (lacked candor) during interviews with the FBI and OIG

As expected, the corrupt DOJ declined to criminally prosecute the now-retired senior FBI official.

The OIG also found that another (now retired) Senior FBI official violated FBI policy.

“The OIG found that the now Retired Senior Official, after being told about the romantic relationship described above, did not take proactive measures necessary to mitigate adverse consequences of the supervisor-subordinate relationship, in violation of FBI policy.”

The second FBI official was not punished because they retired before the OIG initiated the investigation.
