I'm sorry you're so angry at your parents for taking you to church as a child, but "the church" isn't a singular entity. It doesn't make people do anything. People choose to go, people make up a church, and there are a lot of different churches and beliefs. Marriage is from humans. Humans decide to get married. America is a free country and no one making anyone do it. Free will includes giving away one's free will to a system of one's choice.
