Father in Heaven, Glorious God on High, Almighty and Eternal Creator, we love You and turn to You for our protection and salvation, through the Word of your Beloved Son,

Teach us to be gentle and kind, strong and courageous, forgiving and patient, wise and discerning.

And above all Father, transform our hearts to be loving beyond earthly measure.

Awaken us to the truth of winning this war, which is surely the war within, overcoming our hate and anger, seeing each brother and sister as one of our own family, and as part of ourselves, part of our body, the worldwide Body of Christ.

Excise the evil from our hearts and minds so that we meet even our enemies, who are still our brothers and sisters lost to darkness, so we can feed him if he is hungry, and give him a drink if he is thirsty; for by doing this we will heap burning coals on his head, the coals of your fiery spirit of love, God.

In this way Father, only through your Almighty Power, will the cure spread worldwide.

Show us Father that each of us carries a part of the enemy within our own hearts, and that we often unknowingly create darkness all around us too. And yet despite our transgressions, which You see even when we don't, we each long for your love, Father, in spite of our transgressions, so why would we not strive to show the same love and capacity for forgiveness to our brothers and sisters lost to darkness, praying that they would come back to you just as we pray to come back to your grace ourselves.

We have a choice, Father, which is a great gift you have given us, but one which comes with an awesome power over our own world, to make it in our own images, so Father we beg that you would enlighten us to the Truth of You and of our individual participation in the collective well being of all mankind through our thoughts and prayers and deeds, conscious and unconscious.

Transform us, God Father, so that we do not seek to balance our inner light with our dark, for there can be no compromise, but to extinguish that dark to whatever extent you would empower us to do so, until there is only love.

Father in Heaven, let the Light, the True Light, embodied by the Spirit of Christ, shine and dispel all darkness, until there is none, however long it takes, bringing about a real salvation and the New Heaven on Earth: a beautiful, brave new world.
