The Law of Free Will

Armed with free will we come into each incarnation to learn lessons, work through karma, enhance soul growth and get a step closer to enlightenment. This law allows us to make decisions affecting all aspects of each lifetime. That's why I call it the democratic law. It overrides all of the 'thou- shall- nots' because the moment we are made to adhere to anything but our own will, it is a transgression against this universal law. Others may think they know what is best for us, but ultimately the choice of how we live our lives is one we each are entitled to make for ourselves. There are no mistakes, only lessons learned.

We use the Law of Free Will to decide the role we will play before we step into any incarnation. The drama is set-up to teach lessons we choose to learn. We get to decide where we wish to live, how we wish to live and who our parents will be. No one is forced into anything that is not agreed upon ahead of time. However, it is exactly this free will aspect that sometimes causes deviations to the script, setting in motion new, unexpected circumstances, as we head down a side road that takes us off our chosen path.

We can use free will in order to solicit help from our spirit guides. In fact, it is necessary to do so or they will not be able to intervene. They understand and have a great respect for this and all of the universal laws, but cannot step in to intercede on our behalf without our express permission. They are always ready and willing to help but cannot act unilaterally.

The other aspect of free will is the ability it gives us to banish any beings entering our space with whom we are not comfortable. We can say, "Only those of the brightest light are welcome here." All entities must comply with this universal law. If we know the intruder to be an earth-bound spirit, it would be good to direct it toward the light, which will allow it to re-join with the source. Often these spirits are so attached to a location where a traumatic event took place they have difficulty moving on. This is particularly true with children who have been killed. They don't know how to proceed.

Universal law exists on the other side of the veil (spirit realm) as well as on Earth and must be adhered to. When I asked to receive clarity on this particular point, I was given this example. During an attempt to reach my father who had passed over, his guides told me that he was hesitant to participate in a channeling. When he was still alive, he told me about an out of body experience he had as a boy, so it came as a complete surprise that, now on the other side, he was wary to make contact. He was also quite spiritually evolved. A further attempt to make contact prompted his guides to surround him, raising their arms to shield him from me. This episode made me aware the guides were respecting his free will. As access was blocked, my question was answered - Universal law exists everywhere. Since that time I have had contact with my Dad, which leads me to conclude that he was a willing participant to enable me to understand the free will aspect at work on the other side.

The Law of Free Will, once understood, also overrides the belief God has allowed certain things to happen. God allows each of us to come into physicality to experience and grow spiritually. This may include adverse conditions such as poverty, war, anguish and killing. We experience them all in order to learn from them all. Nothing real can be harmed and when the current play is over, we meet again to evaluate the lessons.

So, now you may wonder why we don't just pick out the best awesome lives for ourselves and have a good time? Right? It is all about growing on a soul level. The adverse conditions are actually the greatest tests to further soul growth. The Law of Free Will gives us complete autonomy to make all decisions; to bravely step into situations that offer chaos but also give us the most spiritual rewards.

If you happen to find yourself in a life that is wonderful and are having a good time, rest assured, you probably had many lives of hardship and strife to come to this point. Experiencing the struggle helps us to become compassionate. The soul learning gets easier as we come to an evolutionary phase, an understanding and a realization of what is really important. As the soul advancement progresses the need for material things falls away and awareness is placed upon the spiritual. How we treat others, kind deeds and service to Mankind become more relevant in order to bring us peace and joy within.

The one vibration of perfect, light energy flows through us all, making us a part of what some call God; allowing us to make choices thereby making us the creators of all that comes our way. This is the Law of Free Will at work.
