Anon is reading Sean Stone's book The New World Order.

Learned a few things so far:

  1. It was England's declining power in the 1800's that prompted them to adopt a strategy of continued dominance through banking, guilds, and nation-building

  1. They recognized early that a German-dominated Europe was OK with them, as long as they were still calling the shots

  1. They also recognized a strong Russia was OK because it would keep Germany in check, or be a useful ally in the future.

  1. They let their English speaking crown colonies go 'independent' so they could still exert an influential voice in global bodies like the League of Nations and the UN. In this way they multiplied their voice by at least 5 or 6 voting members, ensuring decisions would always tilt their way.

I'm only half way through the book. The thrust of it so far is Cecil Rhodes was a kind of Godfather, whose plan for UK dominance was more or less baked into his Rhodes Scholarship and a "Round Table" of like-minded men in the 20's, 30's and onward. This effort successfully infected the thinking and the scholarship of US universities, with the US being the ultimate prize – to bring it back into the fold.

Everything we are seeing today had its roots in these efforts.
