The tower of babel story is parable about them making a name for themselves (think a name for God). People will kill over the name, but Jesus said… I AM. So language was confused.

Yes, where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.
That means liberty for all, not just those who agree politically or religiously. When those who believe call for the extermination of non believers, that's not liberty, no matter which side is doing it.
