Dominion Voting Systems will not seek settlement in defamation suits against Lindell, Giuliani, and Powell

Dominion Voting Systems will not seek a settlement in its $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit against prominent Trump supporters including MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, and lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.

In a court filing Monday, the company said there is no "realistic possibility" of a settlement in its cases against the prominent Trump supporters, each of whom claimed Dominion was part of a "national conspiracy" of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

"Given the devastating harm to Plaintiffs, the lack of remorse shown by Defendants, and the fact that many of them continue to double down on their lies, Plaintiffs do not believe any realistic possibility of settlement exists," the company's lawyers wrote in the documents, which were first reported by Business Insider.

The papers were jointly filed with lawyers for the defendants in a case that will be presided over by U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols. The judge allowed Dominion's defamation lawsuits to proceed in August after dismissing an attempt by Powell, Giuliani, and Lindell to have the cases dismissed. Nichols also consolidated the cases so that they would be heard together.

Lawyers for defendants Powell and Giuliani argued in the filings that their claims about Dominion's voting machines did not meet the legal standard for defamation.

"Powell and Giuliani are open to settlement discussions once discovery is complete and Dominion realizes that its claims are without merit and that it has no damages legally attributable to Powell and Giuliani," the filing said. "Powell and Giuliani have nothing to show remorse for and dispute that they have lied about anything."

Attorneys for Powell and Giuliani said they will participate in the discovery process for the lawsuit. However, Business Insider reported Giuliani's lawyers said he is currently unable to turn over documents because the FBI took possession of his digital files when it raided his home in May as part of an investigation into whether he violated lobbying laws.

Lindell said he will not participate in the discovery process. He informed Insider that he intends to appeal Nichols' denial of his motion to dismiss the defamation suit all the way to the Supreme Court.

He also said he will "never settle" with Dominion and has filed a counter lawsuit for $1.6 billion against the voting machine manufacturer, Business Insider reported.

NOT SO FAST: RINO Wisconsin Assembly Rules Committee Chair Refuses To Advance Resolution To Reclaim 2020 Electors

After the Wisconsin Assembly unanimously voted to send Rep. Timothy Ramthun’s resolution to reclaim Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral votes to the Rules Committee, RINO Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke announced he is refusing to advance it.

Despite the unanimous vote on a resolution to reclaim Joe Biden’s 2020 electoral votes that was sent to his committee to schedule a floor vote, RINO Wisconsin Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke is now saying that he will refuse to advance the resolution.

As National File previously reported:

Last night, the Wisconsin Assembly has unanimously voted to withdraw its 10 electoral votes that contributed to the certification of Joe Biden’s controversial victory following the hotly contested 2020 Presidential Election.

The legislation now heads to the Wisconsin Assembly Rules Committee, and then on to the Wisconsin Senate for confirmation.

The resolution, introduced by Wisconsin Rep. Timothy Ramthun, came on the heels of the Resolution To Reclaim, a presentation that details significant evidence of fraud, discrepancies, and violations of election laws that took place during the 2020 Presidential Election.

Despite legal opinions from several constitutional attorneys indicating that such a maneuver is in fact Constitutional, including the US Constitution itself, which exclusively gives individual state legislatures the power to conduct elections and assign electoral votes, Rep. Steineke disagrees.

“Rep Ramthun just attempted to pass an Assembly resolution to recall WI’s presidential electors. Not only is it illegal, it’s just plain unconstitutional,” Steineke said in a tweet. “As chair of the Rules Committee, there is ZERO chance I will advance this illegal resolution. #EndofStory”

Here are the members of the Rules Committee:

Representative Steineke

Representative Vos

Representative August

Representative Petersen

Representative Vorpagel

Representative Kuglitsch

Representative Tittl

Representative Plumer

Representative Dittrich

Representative Neubauer

Representative Hesselbein

Netherlands Lifts COVID-19 Measures, Many Hospitality Venues Reopen

The Dutch government announced it will start lifting one of the toughest COVID-19 restrictions enforced in Europe, allowing the hospitality industry to again welcome back customers.

“As of Jan. 26, most locations in our country can once again be open, under certain conditions,” the government said in guidance explaining the condition of reopening. “This means that restaurants and bars, cinemas, theatres, music venues, museums, zoos, and amusement parks can reopen.”

The Netherlands has been under a hard lockdown since mid-December—when the government forced non-essential shops and contact professionals such as barbers to shut doors.

Since Jan. 26, the Dutch hospitality industry is allowed to welcome back customers, though only with a reduced capacity and social distancing rules in place. The sector will also not be allowed to open between 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and customers must be able to present a COVID-19 vaccine passport to allow entry.

Thousands of protesters recently packed streets in the country as anger mounted over the government’s order to allow non-essential shops, barbers, and sex workers to continue business on Jan. 15, while other venues such as restaurants and cafes had to remain shut.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Tuesday as he announced the loosening of the toughest CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus restrictions in Europe that the government is “taking a big step today to unlock” the country.
