Communist Manifesto is required reading for the majority of principles of macroeconomics courses. Krugman is a fuckin idiot. Shows you how pointless the Nobel Prize is. Now, the late Dr. John Nash is a man who I admire. He is a Nobel Laureate. The Nash Equilibrium. Unfortunately that is never taught in undergraduate economics courses.
California is a duty to retreat state. As in go hide in the fucking closet with your gun and you may only use it in self-defense if the bastard(s) come after you….in the hiding spot. At least in this commie run cesspool I do not have a duty to retreat in my own fucking home. Why should anyone be required to run away from someone threatening their life while inside their own home? It's just another step to disarm or otherwise neuter gun owners.
I actually had that same thought a few days ago while I was thinking about the movie. No idea why. The "schizophrenia" was manufactured because Nash was so fucking brilliant that he couldn't be allowed to continue his work.
He's like the Rahm Emanuel of the UK. Or de Blowsio I mean de Blasio.
The message of love resonated with me. How his wife stood by him through everything. That is…an exceedingly rare thing.
I'm not even sure because the most recent Nobel for economics was awarded to an economist (Thaler) who disproved the work of another Nobel Laureate. It's just a fucking free for all. That's what it appears to be, at least.
Even if the movie is full of fiction, it is still an excellent movie. Since it does have that message of unconditional love. It also accurately portrays how the mentally ill were treated in that time period. I recommend everyone at least watch the movie. Read the book also, if possible.
I am close with many open carry proponents. I've seen pretty persuasive arguments for open carry, based on Heller. That it is the only constitutional method. Concealed, they can license it. Open, they cannot. Frankly, I'd rather carry openly. Licensure equals money. They cannot (or at least should not be permitted to) assess a large ass fee for exercising a constitutional right. Illinois is $150 for 5 years with 16 hours of training. That's fucking outrageous. At least we have shall issue here. Better than may (not) issue.
Many courts have said "You have to have ONE method of carry as per Heller, we don't care what it is." That's what just happened with Norman v. State of Florida. I wanna see the Supreme Court take up a case involving carry outside the home since the only federal court that's ruled it's a protected right is the Seventh Circuit in Moore v. Madigan.
Did not know that. Thank you for the correction. TX can't use lethal force to defend property? Here in IL we can, it's just a very fucking bad idea. If you see someone breaking into your car, it's a lot more difficult to argue a person is a danger to you than if they kick in your front door so prevailing advice is to just call the cops and let em handle property crimes. They have qualified immunity. We civilians do not.
Too little, too late
I always trip up anti-gunners when they try to tell me the 2A is a collective right. I ask them if any other right delineated in the Bill of Rights is a collective right. Nope. So why would the framers decide to make Amendment Two a collective right, while the rest are individual rights? They wouldn't. It defies logic. The intent of the framers was open carry at the very least. Reading it a bit more liberally, any manner.
Had some drunk teenagers mistake my house for the house of my neighbor, his daughter. Banging on my patio door, screaming "Open up, motherfucker! I'm gonna fuck you up!" So I whipped the door open with a pistol in my hand, grabbed the kid by the collar, pulled him close to my face and put the muzzle to his temple. Asked him what the fuck he was doing on my deck, trying to break into my house. Naturally, he's running his mouth, calling me a faggot, pussy, whatever. I wouldn't have shot him, that'd be cold blooded murder, but I almost called the police while holding him at gunpoint. His friend shit himself, said "Shut the FUCK UP dude, he's got a gun to your head." Faggot tried forcing his way into my house while I had a gun to his head, still thinking that it was a different house (apparently neighbors daughter gives it up easily). Told him if he keeps going with it, I'll have no choice but to shoot him as he would be attempting to make violent entry into my home. Eventually he fucked off, but not before he threatened my life. Five years later…still here.
I had him under control. Trapped him between my body, the door frame, and the door itself. He wasn't going anywhere and I had a pistol that's DA/SA with the hammer down, wasn't in danger of losing control of the gun itself or discharging it. Didn't even have my finger on the trigger and pull weight in SA mode is 8 lbs. I minimized the risk as much as I possibly could. But you are right. In hindsight, pepper spray would've been a better idea but I definitely would've had the police at my house had I nuked the kid in the face with OC.
