Was browsing post and ran into this one

 

Seems like a very odd law. Also seems like anyone that is a part of the Q movement could conceivably be prosecuted under this law, at least once trump left office.

 

did some digging, it was enacted in 1948, just after world war 2. Seems like odd timing.

However it was based off of another law that was passed in 1940, 1 year after the start of world war II.

Seems like even stranger timing. Dont know if there was another law before that but seems interesting.

 

The referenced law from 1940 also deals with deportation of illegal aliens.

Apparently it was called the Smith act, aka the Alien Registration Act of 1940. Just also happened to include stuff about advocating the overthrow of government
