So close, but then he gets side tracked. The foundation of modern Western society relies on the conscious agreement of what the Bible provides the baseline for putting Truth at the center of culture. From there, governance of our motivations and cooperative experience (this great experiment) are reliant on a majority of its adherents. Any rejection of it is what causes the downfall of Western society because its foundations are rooted in it. It's susceptible to subversion because defense of Free Speech is often philosophized (and even promoted to be) tolerance of alternative (even destructive) ideals and viewpoints. The reason the Founding Fathers were diverse in their take on the significance of Christianity (or at a minimum, belief in a higher power/God) is because they all agreed the true nature of God was rooted in Truth. Denomination or not, the pursuit of Truth was the central point is the formation of the ideological foundation in which Western Culture is built. They understood this, and the furtherance of that knowledge is what has been under attack since this experiment began. This is were Mr. Peterson gets started down the right path, but often gets in his own way. Had he finished the thought accordingly, instead of plugging microchips from his BIL, he would've gotten the point across much better.
