Pennsylvania Court Rules Act 77 of 2019 Unconstitutional – Mail-In Voting on Hold

A statewide court in Pennsylvania ruled on Friday the expansive two-year-old mail-in voting is unconstitutional.

According to a Commonwealth Court filing released Friday, Act 77 which allows residents to vote by mail in Pennsylvania, violates Article VII, Section 1 of the Pennsylvania constitution.

A statewide court says Pennsylvania’s expansive two-year-old mail-in voting law is unconstitutional, agreeing with challenges by Republicans who soured on mail-in voting after then-President Donald Trump began baselessly attacking it as rife with fraud in 2020′s campaign.

According to a Commonwealth Court filing released Friday, the court ruled that Act 77, allowing residents to vote by mail in Pennsylvania, violates Article VII, Section 1 of the Pennsylvania constitution.

The Commonwealth Court denied the Pa. Department of State acting secretary’s application for summary relief.

In the ruling, Commonwealth Court President Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt wrote, “If presented to the people, a constitutional amendment to end Article VII, Section 1 requirement of in-person voting is likely to be adopted. But a constitutional amendment must be presented to the people and adopted into our fundamental law before legislation allowing no-excuse mail-in voting can be ‘placed upon our statute books.'”

Friday’s decision by a five-judge Commonwealth Court panel could be put on hold immediately by an appeal from Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration to the state Supreme Court.

The decision throws the state’s voting laws into doubt in a big election year.

The three Republican judges agreed with Republican challengers. The two Democrats on the panel dissented.

“Speaker Vos and the Legislative Body Have Ignored the Voice and Will of the People” – GOP County Leaders Call on Speaker Vos to Resign

Enough is enough.

After months of ignoring the will of the people of Wisconsin over the obviously fraudulent 2020 election, the people of Wisconsin have had enough.

The Republican leadership in Iowa County Wisconsin released a statement this week calling on Speaker Robin Vos to step down as Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly.

The GOP leaders are fed up with his complete failure to listen to the will of the voters.

Representative Ramthun’s proactive engagement on this issue has also brought to light another issue of perhaps even greater concern. This is the complete failure by the current leadership to listen to the voice of the people. Speaker Vos and the legislative body have ignored the voice and will of their constituents.

There have been many, indeed, thousands of letters, phone calls, affidavits, resolutions, public statements conveyed to Speaker Vos in the last year that all, in one way or another, made the will of the people very clear:

a) A thorough, complete, and transparent cyber and kinematic audit of our elections.

b) Corrective action taken regarding our elections process to ensure that all future elections

are free and fair for all Wisconsin voters and election laws are followed.

c) Lastly, that those who committed crimes be prosecuted and that any statement or

certification that was, once reviewed, deemed to be fraudulent be annulled.

The GOP members then call on Speaker Vos to resign.

This committee hereby also calls upon Representative Vos to step down from his role as the Speaker of the Assembly as he has, in effect, guaranteed that any number of incumbent Republican assemblymen will lose their seat. Perhaps a step of this drastic nature will be able to demonstrate that the Republican Party of Wisconsin is now willing to listen to the voice of their own constituents.

Volodymyr Zelensky has blasted the West for causing panic

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized the “slightly imbalanced” coverage of the situation surrounding his country exhibited by some Western politicians and media. He was speaking to foreign reporters during a major press conference on Friday.

The former entertainer particularly emphasised his concerns about press coverage, and political statements, concerning an alleged Russian military build up near his country's frontier.

“Today we are not seeing any greater escalation than it has been before. Yes, the number of servicemen has increased, but I spoke about that at the beginning of 2021 when they talked about the military exercises of the Russian Federation,” Zelensky stated.

“From media coverage, it looks like we are at war already, that troops are already on the road, that there's mobilization, people going somewhere. It's not the case. We don’t need this panic.”

Overhyping the tensions around Ukraine has already had a heavy impact on its economy, Zelensky insisted. Billions have been withdrawn from the country, in recent times, he added, without specifying whether he was referring to the domestic Grivna currency, or those of foreign nations.

The president also touched upon phone talks with his US counterpart Joe Biden, which took place earlier in the day. Zelensky dismissed media reports that they didn't go well, insisting that that there were no disagreements with the US president.

“We do not have any misunderstanding with the president of the United States. Simply, I deeply understand what is happening in my country, and he understands well what is going on in the US,” Zelensky explained.

At the same time, the Ukrainian leader admitted that he might have some secrets to keep from Biden.

Peter Schiff: "We're Screwed & The Fed Knows It"

The Federal Reserve wrapped up its first Federal Open Market Committee meeting of the year this week without any real surprises. Despite everybody screaming about an inflation problem, the Fed will keep its loose, inflationary monetary policy in play for at least two more months.

Interest rates remain locked at zero. But the FOMC said it will likely raise rates “soon.”

With inflation well above 2 percent and a strong labor market, the Committee expects it will soon be appropriate to raise the target range for the federal funds rate.”

Most analysts expect “soon” to be at the March meeting.

But Jerome Powell left some wiggle-room in the trajectory of the Fed’s monetary policy, saying, “At this time, we haven’t made any decisions about the path of policy. I stress again that we’ll be humble and nimble.”

Powell also indicated that the Fed would be “data-dependent.” As Peter Schiff said in his podcast, “If the Federal Reserve was depending on the data, they would have raised interest rates a long time ago, and they would now be much higher than zero.”

Virginia AG Says State Universities Can't Mandate Vaccine For Students

Virginia's new Attorney General Jason Miyares (R) has come out of the gate swinging since being sworn in just weeks ago.

First, he cleaned house - firing dozens of lawyers, including those in the Civil Rights division, while at the same time announcing investigations into Loudon County Public Schools and the Virginia Parole Board.

Then, he fired Democrat attorneys from the University of Virginia and George Mason University, saying he "wants the university counsel to return to giving legal advice based on law, and not the philosophy of a university," adding: "We plan to look internally first for the next lead counsel."

Now, Miyares has issued a legal opinion that public universities in Virginia cannot mandate the Covid-19 vaccine for students.

"There is no question that the General Assembly could enact a statute requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for in-person school attendance," he wrote in Friday press release, adding "As of this writing, they have not done so."

"Although the General Assembly specifically authorized public institutions of higher education to assist the Department of Health and local health departments in the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, the legislation did not grant such institutions power to impose vaccine requirements."

Virginia follows Tennessee, Alabma, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Montana, Arizona, Utah and Florida, all of which have banned universities from requiring vaccinations.

Nearly 50 steel execs jailed over emissions

Beijing has punished nearly 50 executives of steel-producing companies for faking pollution data

Authorities in China have punished supervisors from four companies located in the top steelmaking city of Tangshan, the local government announced on Thursday, citing court documents.

Some 47 senior officials working for the companies have been given prison sentences ranging from six to 18 months after they were found guilty of tampering with monitoring devices controlling emissions.

The interference allowed the companies to release large quantities of pollutants back in March 2021, according to the Tangshan municipal government’s statement. Two of the companies caught circumventing the emissions restrictions, Tangshan Songting and Hebei Xinda, were also fined four million yuan to seven million yuan ($628,000 to $1.1 million).

The sentences and heavy fines come amid Beijing’s campaign to make its economy more eco-friendly and achieve carbon goals outlined by the central government. Steel producers appear to be among the prime offenders, repeatedly caught flouting the emissions caps.

Last year, four Tangshan steel making companies were caught failing to comply with production cuts introduced to limit heavy pollution. One of the offending companies, Tangshan Jinma Steel Group, was also involved in the latest scandal.

Pope Francis Attacks Claims Vaccine 'Misinformation' Violates Human Rights, Praises Fact Checking

Pope Francis has attacked alleged “misinformation” regarding the COVID-19 vaccines as being a human rights violation, praising fact-checking organizations.

On Friday, Pope Francis claimed that an “infodemic” of misinformation about COVID-19 and the vaccines was spreading around the world just as quickly as the disease itself, which Francis described as “a distortion of reality based on fear.”

Francis, who earlier this year described criticism of the vaccines as “baseless,” said that it was a “human right” for people to be properly informed about the world around them. However, instead of encouraging people to research the truth for themselves, the Pope argued that free choice and open information leads to “confusion” for people.

Therefore, he continued, “correct information must be ensured above all to those who are less equipped, to the weakest and to those who are most vulnerable.” Without an “ethical corrective” to decide what is true or not, “algorithms” will lead people to “dangerous forms of radicalization.”

The address from the Pope was promoted by the International Catholic Media Consortium on COVID-19 Vaccines. The group is headed by the Catholic media outlet Aleteia, along with other European media outlets, and has created the “Catholic Fact Checking” project, designed to give Catholic media outlets “unbiased” and “fact-checked” information on the vaccines.

“You yourselves have set as a goal the unmasking of fake news and partial or misleading information about Covid-19 vaccines, and have begun to do so by networking different Catholic media and involving various experts,” Pope Francis said, praising the group. “Your initiative was born as a Consortium that seeks to be together for the truth. Thank you, thank you for this.”

In March last year, the Catholic Fact-Checking project was chosen as one of 11 projects to receive up to $3 million from the Google News Initiative’s Open Fund, designed to help more media outlets correct “fake news” online.

Ironically, other Catholic media outlets have fallen foul of of Big Tech regulations when talking about the vaccines in a way that it is not officially sanctioned, with Life Site News having all of its social media platforms shut down last year for breaching COVID-19 misinformation policies.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, one of Francis’s biggest critics, slammed him last year as a “zealous cooperator” of the Great Reset agenda pushed by globalist organizations such as the WEF, and that he was presiding over the “demolition” of the Catholic Church in order to replace it with an order based on “Masonic inspiration.”

=New York Times Admits Unvaxxed People Have ‘Lower Rates of Infection And Hospitalization’ Of COVID-19 Than The Vaxxed.

The New York Times has finally accepted that individuals unvaccinated against COVID-19 who previously contracted the virus had “lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone.”

A January 19th update posted to the outlet’s COVID-19 live blog explains how unvaccinated individuals who previously contracted the virus “had lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone”:

During the week beginning May 30, 2021, vaccinated people who had not experienced Covid had the lowest risk of coronavirus infection and hospitalization, followed by unvaccinated people who had been previously diagnosed with Covid.

By the week beginning Oct. 3, however, vaccinated people with a prior diagnosis fared best against the Delta variant. Unvaccinated people with a history of Covid also had lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone.

“The data are consistent with trends observed in international studies, the researchers said,” added The New York Times.

The outlet attempts to explain the disparity in vaccinated and unvaccinated people contracting COVID-19 by attributing it to the “waning of vaccine-derived immunity.”

“A recent study of employees at the Cleveland Clinic suggested that while vaccination does not add much benefit to a prior bout for the first many months, it may offer better protection against symptomatic illness over the long term than does immunity from a previous infection,” reasons the outlet.

The admission follows other studies showing similar trends, including a Robert Koch Institute report that found nearly 80 percent of Omicron cases occurred in vaccinated individuals. The story also follows an unprecedented surge in lobbying efforts by American pharmaceutical giants that developed COVID-19 shots including Pfizer and Moderna.

Representing yet another conflict of interest, a member of Pfizer’s Board of Directors doubles as a Chairman for Reuters, which has published more than 22,000 articles mentioning the Chinese Communist Party-linked pharmaceutical giant.

5.4 Million Americans Purchase Guns For First Time in 2021: NSSF Survey

An industry trade group has found that at least 5.4 million Americans purchased a firearm for the first time in 2021 (pdf), based on retailer surveys and background checks, with one in three buyers being women.

Out of all firearm buyers, nearly 30 percent were first-timers. This is a decrease of 10 percent from 2020 when nearly 8.4 million people bought a gun for the first time out of 21 million background checks. Correspondingly, over 40 percent of new buyers were women in 2020, according to data (pdf) collected by The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

“We welcome these new gun owners to the greater community of law-abiding Americans who choose to own a firearm for lawful purposes, including self-defense, recreational target shooting, and hunting,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF president and CEO in a Jan. 25 news release.

“The surveys revealed that new gun owners are continuing to embrace their Second Amendment rights and nearly half of them are seeking out professional training. These trends show that not only is there still a strong interest in gun ownership but also that these new gun owners are interested in learning more about the safe and responsible handling, use and storage of firearms.”

There were 22.8 percent return-buyers who came back after making their first purchase. Most of the people who bought a firearm for the first time were divided into the age groups: 30 and under (22.2 percent), 31–40 (27 percent), 41–50 (21.7 percent), 51–60 (13.8 percent) and over 60 (8.1 percent). In 2020, the most-purchased firearm was a semi-automatic handgun.

More than 40 percent of buyers wanted to undergo professional training while the organization discovered that there was a marked increase in all demographics who purchased firearms compared to the previous year.

Teenager Who Sexually Assaulted Girls in Virginia County Won’t Have to Register as Sex Offender: Judge

A teenager who was convicted of sexually assaulting girls at two different Virginia high schools and apparently assaulted a third will not have to register as a sex offender, a judge ruled Thursday.

The 15 year old, whose name has not been made public, was ordered by Loudoun County Juvenile Court Judge Pamela Brooks in mid-January to register for the registry, which helps members of the public learn where convicted sex offenders reside.

Just two weeks later, Brooks reversed her decision, local news outlets reported.

The judge said she mistakenly accepted an oral motion from prosecutors asking for the registration and that the prosecutor’s office had not submitted a written motion, WJLA-TV reported.

Brooks said in her judgment that juvenile court is aimed at rehabilitating criminals and noted a recent report entered by defense lawyers that says nearly all 12- to 17-year-old sex offenders who receive treatment do not commit additional crimes in the future.

Brooks also revealed the teen is accused of assaulting a third girl but that girl has not come forward yet.

The judge in the previous hearing had touched on how disturbed she was by the report on the defendant’s psychosexual and psychological evaluations.

“Yours scared me for yourself, your family, and society in general,” Brooks told the teen, adding, “Young man, you need a lot of help.”

Scott Smith, the father of one of the girls the teenager assaulted, told reporters after the hearing that he opposed the decision.

“What happened today was horrific. Hopefully, he doesn’t offend again. If he does, it’s not on me, it’s on them. I fought to the bitter end for this,” he said.

Smith told The Epoch Times previously regarding the teen, “I want him to become better in the future instead of sitting in jail for the rest of his life, but I also want him marked as a sexual predator.”

The Smith family added in a written statement that they felt both the justice system and Loudoun Commonwealth Attorney Buta Biberaj, a Democrat, failed them.

“The person who committed these horrible crimes against these three young women will not have to bear the shame at being known as a lifetime registered sex offender, as he was originally sentenced. Rather, we are now concerned more than ever that this change in his legal status may put other parents’ daughters at risk of harm in the future,” they said.

A lawyer representing the teenager did not immediately respond to a request for comment and the office of Biberaj didn’t pick up the phone on Friday morning.

Prosecutors had shifted their request during the hearing. Originally, they asked the judge to force the convict to register as a sex offender for life. In the new request, they asked for the judge to force the teen to register for 15 years, WUSA-TV reported.

Defense attorneys argued during the hearing that juveniles placed on the list are more likely to reoffend.

George Soros Donates $125 Million to Democrats Before November Midterms

Left-wing billionaire and Democrat donor George Soros has reportedly fueled Democrats with $125 million through a super PAC heading into the November midterms.

Dubbed as a “long-term investment,” the money is one of the largest political donations in recent years, Politico reported, noting political donations of nine figures are exceedingly rare.

The donation will also likely be one of the largest political donations heading into the midterms.

Soros told the publication the “Democracy PAC” will be allocated to “causes and candidates” to strengthen the “infrastructure of American democracy: voting rights and civic participation, civil rights and liberties, and the rule of law.”

Soros, 91, will concede leadership of the PAC and allow his son Alexander Soros to serve as president.

Alexander Soros told Politico the PAC will be used as a weapon against those who “discredit and undermine our electoral process,” citing the “generational threat that cannot be addressed in just one or two election cycles.”

Reports indicate the “Democracy PAC” has already donated large sums to congressional PACs.

Reportedly, $2.5 million has been donated to Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) Senate Majority PAC, $1 million to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) House Majority PAC, and $1 million also donated to the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

Soros is well-known for contributing great sums of money nationwide to local prosecutors to alter the criminal justice system in the name of “criminal justice reform.” Breitbart News reported:

The rise of these Soros-backed prosecutors has coincided with a massive surge in murder and crime in many Democrat-run cities, including many where these prosecutors have implemented radical policies toward policing and incarceration.

London Police Ask Hotly Anticipated ‘Partygate’ Report to be Censored to Protect Investigation

Doubt about the content and release of a key report into lockdown-breaching parties within the British government deepened Friday when police said they wanted parts of it to remain unpublished until they finish a criminal investigation.

The Metropolitan Police force said it had asked for civil servant Sue Gray´s report to make only “minimal reference” to the events being investigated by detectives “to avoid any prejudice to our investigation.”

The request could further delay the publication of the report which had been expected this week and whose findings could deliver a major blow to Prime Minister Boris Johnson´s fragile grip on power.

The senior civil servant is probing allegations that the prime minister and his staff flouted restrictions they imposed on the country in 2020 and 2021 to curb the spread of the coronavirus with “bring your own booze” office parties, birthday celebrations and “wine time Fridays.”

The claims have caused public anger, led some Conservative lawmakers to call for Johnson´s resignation and triggered intense infighting inside the governing party.

Gray is looking into almost 20 incidents. This week police opened an inquiry into an undisclosed smaller number of them found to meet the force´s criteria for investigating the “most serious and flagrant” breaches of coronavirus rules.

Police have handed out tens of thousands of fines for breaching pandemic regulations since 2020, with miscreants facing a maximum fine of 10,000 pounds ($13,500).

Johnson has promised to publish Gray´s report in full and to address Parliament about its findings. He has denied personal wrongdoing and said he has “absolutely no intention” of resigning.

The government denied interfering with Gray´s inquiry which it says is independent, even though Gray – as a civil servant – is investigating her boss, Johnson.

Johnson´s office said it had not pressured Gray´s team or the police, and the report was “completely a matter for the investigation team.”

“We will publish it as received,” said Johnson spokesman Jamie Davies.
