‘Paying The Arsonist’: Biden’s COVID Test Contract With China Draws Ire on Capitol Hill

The Biden administration’s decision to award over a billion dollars to a Chinese company that manufactures coronavirus test kits has prompted outrage from congressional Republicans.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R., Fla.) compared the Pentagon's decision to award a $1.3 billion contract to iHealth, a subsidiary of China’s Andon Health Co. Ltd. that will supply millions of COVID-19 tests to the United States, to "paying the arsonist for helping put out the fire." Waltz said he was concerned that the deal further endangers America’s supply chains and that the United States cannot be reliant on a hostile country such as China, where the virus originated.

After months of nationwide shortages of COVID tests in the wake of the Omicron variant surge, the Biden administration scrambled to purchase hundreds of millions of tests to send directly to Americans. The implementation has been riddled with failures, ranging from long wait times for the tests to logistical hurdles when delivering to large apartment buildings.

In announcing the contract with iHealth and two other companies, the Department of Defense said the administration will purchase almost 400 million kits in a deal that totaled nearly $2 billion. Rep. Don Bacon (R., Neb.) called the arrangement with a Chinese manufacturer "ridiculous" given China has "not been transparent one iota on what happened at Wuhan." Prior to the Pentagon contract, the FDA in December approved iHealth’s request to manufacture at-home COVID-19 tests for Americans.

President Joe Biden has been pressed to invoke the Defense Production Act to step up the ability of American companies to produce tests. White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci said in December that it was unnecessary because American manufacturers were already "going full speed."

"The Defense Production Act can't make them go any more full speed than they're already going," Fauci said.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) said awarding iHealth a lucrative DoD contract is the latest of the administration’s failures when it comes to the coronavirus.

"Joe Biden, Dr. Fauci, Dr. Walensky, and our federal health agencies’ handling of COVID-19 has been a complete failure," Johnson told the Washington Free Beacon. "The president has been eliminating American jobs since day one in office and this is another insult to American businesses who are suffering under the failure of his economic policies."

The federal iHealth contract follows tens of millions of dollars the company received from New York and Massachusetts for coronavirus tests. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) called it a "dereliction of duty" by her home state and said New York governor Kathy Hochul (D.) and Biden are "putting our national security at risk while simultaneously lining the pockets of the Chinese Communist Party who is responsible for unleashing COVID-19 on the world and then covering it up."

Rep. Bryan Steil (R., Wis.) told the Free Beacon that the Biden administration should be "utilizing and assisting U.S. suppliers" rather than "outsourcing critical supplies from China."

The Chinese Communist Party treated the iHealth contract as a major propaganda victory. State-controlled media outlets used iHealth’s business in America to embarrass the Biden administration, arguing that the United States is reliant on China when it comes to health care.

The potential ramifications of routing millions of dollars to China for COVID tests could be long lasting, lawmakers warn. "When dealing with any Chinese company, all funds inevitably fill the coffers of the Chinese Communist Party and that hurts our national security," Waltz cautioned.

FAA, telecoms giants agree on plan to move forward with launch of 5G towers near airports

Verizon and AT&T's original 5G roll out was stalled due to objections from the FAA and airline companies

The Federal Aviation Administration announced Friday that it has come to a solution with Verizon and AT&T to roll out 5G C-Band towers close to airports without disrupting technology that would impact flights.

The FAA said the telecoms giants provided more specific data about the locations at which they planned to place the towers and "supported more thorough analysis of how 5G C-band signals interact with sensitive aircraft instruments."

An FAA spokesperson said the agency used the data provided to "safely and more precisely map" where the 5G signals will and will not interfere with flight technology.

"This will enable the wireless providers to safely turn on more towers as they deploy new 5G service in major markets across the United States," the spokesperson also said.

The agency and airlines formerly expressed concern that the 5G frequencies could disrupt critical aircraft instruments, which temporarily impeded the ability of the telecoms companies to roll out their plans on schedule.

The delay was frustrating to AT&T and Verizon, both of which said at the time that the FAA had known about the proposed timeline for at least two-years.

This week, the FAA said it had approved 90% of commercial aircraft to perform the vast majority of low-visibility landings at airports where 5G is deployed – that figure is up from 78% last week.

Another Secret Postal Service Program Spies on Citizens by Hacking Cell Phones

Months after Judicial Watch sued the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) for information about a secret program that tracks and collects Americans’ social media posts, more of the agency’s controversial spy mechanisms are being exposed. The newly uncovered tools are sophisticated hacking devices that can breach cell phones and the USPS’s law enforcement arm, U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), has utilized them hundreds of times in the last few years, according to a news story that cites USPIS data buried in a lengthy agency report. The questionable surveillance schemes appear to indicate that the government is weaponizing the nation’s postal service to improperly spy on the citizens who fund it.

The social media surveillance program was uncovered early last year by an online news outlet that revealed the USPS has been quietly tracking and collecting the social media posts of Americans, including notes about planned protests. It is known as Internet Covert Operations Program (ICOP). Analysts dig through social media sites searching for “inflammatory” postings, which are shared across government agencies. Civil liberties experts quoted in the story questioned the legal authority of the USPS to monitor social media activity and one asked a logical question: Why would the government depend on the postal service to examine the internet for security reasons? “If the individuals they’re monitoring are carrying out or planning criminal activity that should be the purview of the FBI,” said one civil liberties authority in the piece, adding “if they’re simply engaging in lawfully protected speech, even if it’s odious or objectionable, then monitoring them on that basis raises serious constitutional concerns.”

Judicial Watch quickly launched an investigation, filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the USPS for information relating to ICOP. As the government often does with FOIA requests, it failed to meet the federally mandated deadline for providing the records and Judicial Watch was forced to file a lawsuit in early July. Among the things Judicial Watch asks for in the federal complaint is all records from January 1, 2020 to the present identifying criteria for flagging social media posts as “inflammatory” or otherwise worthy of further scrutiny by other government agencies. It also asks for records relating to ICOP’s database of social media posts, communications between USPIS and FBI or Homeland Security regarding the program and an analysis outlining the authority of the USPIS to monitor, track and collect Americans’ social media posts. Judicial Watch will provide updates as the case evolves.

Barry Manilow Joins Neil Young in Laughable Spotify Battle Over Joe Rogan Podcast

Barry Manilow is joining rock singer Neil Young in threatening to ditch Spotify over their decision to continue giving Joe Rogan’s podcast a platform despite alleged COVID-19 misinformation.

Young started another stereotypical left-wing movement against dissenting opinions when he referred to the music streaming platform as a “very damaging force via its public misinformation and lies about COVID” in a statement posted to his website.

For the record, his website was so outdated it’s called Neil Young Archives, and I was not even able to copy and paste the above quote because of its outdated technology.

“They can have Rogan or Young. Not both,” he declared, according to the BBC.

So, to nobody’s surprise, Spotify sided with their money-maker Rogan and Young’s music is now off the service.

“We want all the world’s music and audio content to be available to Spotify users. With that comes great responsibility in balancing both safety for listeners and freedom for creators. We have detailed content policies in place and we’ve removed over 20,000 podcast episodes related to Covid since the start of the pandemic,” Spotify said in response, according to The New York Times. “We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify but hope to welcome him back soon.”

Barry Manilow, the “Copacabana” singer, is now following suit, which has earned him both praise and mockery on social media.

“@barrymanilow thank you for the principled stance you have taken, kind sir! I love your music and will happily find it somewhere else other than @spotify,” actress Yvette Nicole Brown tweeted.

Israel is overrun with Covid. The vaccines have failed. The experiment must stop.

Israel has always been the most important country to judge the mRNA Covid vaccines.

Why?

It has nearly total adult vaccine coverage. Efforts to blame "the unvaccinated” for whatever is happening won’t hold. Israel has good data - far more complete and up-to-date than American figures. And it vaccinates quickly, so whatever impact the vaccines are having rolls through the population (and the data) quickly.

But most of all, Israel matters because Israel was first. It mass vaccinated with Pfizer’s mRNA first and it boosted first. And human biology is the same everywhere.

So what happens in Israel happens in all the other mRNA countries eventually. As the chief scientific officer of Pfizer said in September, Israel is a “sort of laboratory” for the vaccines.

Here’s how the Israeli experiment is going.

This chart tracks serious Covid cases (basically intensive care hospitalizations) in Israel from early 2020, the beginning of the epidemic:

The chart shows five distinct Covid spikes. The first two are in 2020, in the pre-vaccine era.

The third spike, the middle one, is the largest so far. It took place from December 2020 through February 2021, just as mass vaccinations of the elderly began.

As I wrote at the time on Twitter, that link probably wasn’t a coincidence. Countries near Israel that were not vaccinating didn’t have spikes as severe. Britain, the second major country to start mass vaccinations, did. Later work has shown a marked rise in infections just after the first mRNA dose, probably because the vaccine temporarily reduces overall immunity to infection.

But even a couple really bad weeks is a small price to pay for long-run success. What happened as the vaccination campaign progressed?

Mordidas without end: Mexicans hand over bribes 18,500 times a day to cops, public servants

Puebla is the worst city for prevalence of illicit handouts; CDMX is the worst state

Mexicans pay almost 18,500 bribes per day to police officers and public servants, a new survey suggests.

Based on the results of the most recent National Survey on Urban Public Security, the national statistics agency INEGI estimates that 2.9 million people paid some 3.4 million bribes in the second half of last year.

The estimate equates to the payment of 771 bribes per hour or 13 per minute.

Known in Mexico as mordidas, bribes are frequently sought by employees at government offices who deal with members of the public seeking to complete bureaucratic procedures and by police officers who have stopped people for offenses such as running a red light or drinking in the street.

The INEGI data shows that the payment and receipt of mordidas continues to be the most ubiquitous form of corruption in Mexico.

How United Nations Funds Migrant Wave Flooding To The US

The United Nations is funding a migrant wave into the US and the evidence of this is frustratingly overwhelming. Unlike other efforts of immigration into the country, this one is significantly more organized.

Bensman told Breitbart News last Monday on a reporting expedition to Tapachula, Mexico, where immigrants show up upon traversing Central America: “It is definitely organized.”

They’re giving money out at way-stations up and down the [migrant] trail … There’s a process [in Tapachula]: You get your Mexican [visa] papers, then you go to the UN building next door, get an appointment, and they interview you and look at your situation… It’s not big money, and not all of them get it, but enough get it to sustain them so they don’t have to go home, and so they can go on to the next way station.

Bensman shared a video of migrants queuing for payment on Twitter:

The money will help poor African and Asian migrants endure the perilous journey via South America, the Darien Gap, Central America, and Mexico. Many migrants face surviving without food, shelter, or short-distance transportation if the UN funds are not available.

“I’ve Never Seen as Many Deaths.. It’s Around a 500 or 600% Increase” – Funeral Director in UK Reveals Increasing Number of Death in Vaccinated Young Adults

Funeral director John O’Looney of Milton Keynes family funeral services in Milton Keynes, England shared in his recent interview with kla.tv that deaths are at unprecedented levels at young people in their 20s, 30s and 40s and “all were vaccinated.”

According to John, along with group of experts, they are seeing an increase in number particularly of thrombosis deaths. (Thrombosis occurs when blood clots block veins or arteries can be life-threatening, such as a stroke or heart attack.)

“So, what we’re seeing is an ever-growing number, particularly of thrombosis deaths, interestingly. So, that comes across as heart attack, aneurysm, or stroke, and they’re in unprecedented numbers. I’ve never seen as many deaths. And not in just the elderly. It’s all manner of people. People in their 20s, in their 30s and 40s, and people that wouldn’t normally be dying, you know. And this was predicted and it’s (it has) come to pass,” John said.

John said the increase of thrombosis deaths this year is way greater than the previous 14 years and it is around 500 or 600% increase.

“Well, to give you an amount…I mean a greater than any one of those 14 years. The increase is phenomenal, though. It’s not a two or three-fold increase. It’s around a 500 or 600% increase. That kind of number. And generally, on the odd occasion, you would get a thrombosis it would be an elderly person. It’s not people in their 20s and 30s and 40s, and they’re all jabbed,” John added.

He said that 9 out of 10 with blood clots were vaccinated.

“I’ve got doctors and police ringing me, nurses ringing me, all saying the same thing. It’s a total lie. On our media, they are saying the hospitals are full of the non-vaccinated. That’s a total fabrication. It’s the polar opposite. 9 out of 10 patients in there, full of blood clots, are the vaccinated. I’ve heard that from so many professionals that I’ve lost count. So, whether you choose to believe it or not, it makes it no worse. That is the truth. That is the reality. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink,” he added.

As a funeral director, John said he can see the cause of death because it’s written down by the coroner and it’s e-mailed to him.

“As a funeral director I don’t need to see the death certificate, but what I do see is the coroner’s paperwork. So wherever there’s a sudden death, the coroner is involved, and he writes what’s called a Form-6. And part of my job as a funeral director is to collate the paperwork and collate the application for cremation, because the vast majority of funerals in the UK are cremation. I’d say about 5% are burials. And that tends to be a cultural thing, you know. So, I see this paperwork and I have to go through this paperwork and check this paperwork and make sure it’s correct. And I see the cause of death because it’s written down by the coroner. And it’s e-mailed to me. So I then print it off, check through it, and if there’s a problem; if there’s a mistake I would get back to the coroner and get it resent, you know,” John said.

John was infected with COVID last year. He believed that the virus exists but it is recoverable and it’s not this deadly pandemic.

“Don’t get me wrong. There is a covid. There is a covid. There is a virus out there. And I’ve spoken to many people. And I’ve had it myself, so it is out there. But it is recoverable; it’s not this deadly pandemic; it’s not something that requires experimental gene therapy every 12 weeks for the next 5 years,” John said.

Sweden decides against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11

STOCKHOLM, Jan 27 (Reuters) - (This Jan. 27 story corrects headline to kids aged 5-11 from 5-12)

Sweden has decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11, the Health Agency said on Thursday, arguing that the benefits did not outweigh the risks.

"With the knowledge we have today, with a low risk for serious disease for kids, we don't see any clear benefit with vaccinating them," Health Agency official Britta Bjorkholm told a news conference.

She added that the decision could be revisited if the research changed or if a new variant changed the pandemic. Kids in high-risk groups can already get the vaccine.

Sweden registered more than 40,000 new cases on Jan. 26, one of the highest daily numbers during the pandemic, despite limited testing. While the forth wave has seen daily infection records shattered, the healthcare is not under the same strain as during previous waves.

On Thursday 101 patients with COVID required intensive care, well below the more than 400 patients during spring 2021. In total, nearly 16,000 people have died of COVID in Sweden since the pandemic started.

Sweden's government on Wednesday extended restrictions, which included limited opening hours for restaurants and an attendance cap for indoor venues, for two weeks but said it hoped to remove them on Feb. 9. read more
