I have an adopted one that is nearing 20 sitting on my feet right now. She isn't doing very well. Diabetes and can't keep food down anymore. I think we will loose her within the month.

Going to be a very sad day. My youngest grandson is loves her so much. He will be heartbroken as will we all.

Know the feeling well.

We just lost a rescue cat (found literally half frozen on the side of the road along with 3 others that we saved, fostered and adopted out) a couple of months ago. She had under developed lungs and we lost her at 5 yo. She was the wifeanon's "emotional support kitty" and she still breaks into tears over that one.

I'm thinking no more animals after these are gone but I know myself and the wife to well and one or three will simply find us and adopt.

Only two of the native Americans I grew up with are still alive.

One in prison and one doing quite well. Rest died of suicide by cop, overdose or liver failure before 40 years old.

They don't need more land they need to fix their people. That "Indian money" probably killed more than anything else.

I lost the belief that the military was in any way shape or form even slightly competent about 5 minutes into being at reception station, Ft Sill, 1990.

Have seen no evidence since then to warrant changing that opinion.
