Swedish film festival employs hypnosis as movie-watching ‘experiment’
The Gothenburg, Scandinavia's largest Film festival, is playing 20 minutes of hypnosis ahead of the featured ahead of featured films.
Helmed by hypnotist Fredrik Praesto, the session takes place instead of trailers before the film. After the credits start rolling, a special countdown breaks the hypnosis for the audience.
The viewers reported sensations ranging from a form of stupor to a much stronger concentration, but there is no telling what the practice could incur on films’ Rotten Tomatoes scores.
