Yeah but there are several countries that have completely scrapped the covid mandates and vaxpasses. He wouldn't be unique in complying and I'm not sure if he would be irreversably damaged by such a setback. He could always win back the trust by being pro trucker as he used to be. And by the way, being anti-mandates doesn't need to be a "right wing" idea.

To be honest, its starting to seem to me like the cops are on the side of the truckers. They are drinking coffee with them and talking about family and kids. More and more public employees are joining the pool of protestors. Even the nurses have joined the truckers it seems. It's probably a question of time before firemen. military and teachers join too.
We should ask him to at least send a delegation and try to talk to the people. These are canadian citizens after all, he should love them and take care of them. Ignoring your own people like this is not respectful nor honorable. Even if the people is in the wrong, they deserve the right to speak to the one governing this country. There must be some way to reach a compromise and understanding. He seems like a reasonable man so whats the problem?

But can it really be so? He has spent his entire life in politics and pretty much all his spare time trying to "be a good guy" in the media and across the world. He lives for politics and everything he does revolves around political activity. Even his own name sounds like "Justice". Why would he become such a multicultural politician and spend his whole life in politics if he didn't want to make the world a better place? Can he really be so rotten inside that he doesn't give any crap at all about his own people?

But these explanations are all quite general and can be used for any western politician. Trudeau is an exception in the way he is hyper-intolerant of his own people doing a protest in his own country in massive numbers.

You are probably right and those things going on in Australia might actually be worse. But Australia hasn't "check mated" their leader. There are some truckers organizing in Australia now, so we shall see how that plays out there.
