The Canadian reusable grenade: the rock. Tactical, effective, and scarier the drunker the man wielding it becomes. As such this are only issued to the most terrifying of soldiers; the Newfie.

As a heavy artillery regiment, the 59th remained in England on coastal defence duties until 1944. In July, following the Normandy Landings, the 59th crossed the English Channel and on July 6 disembarked at Courseulles-sur-Mer where the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division had landed a month before. Once in France, the 59th served as part of the Army Group Royal Artillery of the British 21st Army Group. The unit first went into action supporting Battle of Caen, and later bombarded German forces in the Falaise Pocket. From here, the 59th participated in the major battles of North-West Europe, including supporting the advance of XXX Corps during Operation Market Garden and in support of American forces during the Battle of the Bulge. The 59th ended the war in Germany, firing its last shots against Hamburg on May 2, 1945. During the North-West Europe campaign, the main guns of the 59th were the 7.2" Howitzer and the American-made 155mm 'Long Tom'.

Core group of protesters remains in Ottawa amid growing calls to remove the convoy
Parts of Ottawaโs downtown core remain inaccesible to the public as a scaled-down, core group of protesters continue to occupy the areas surrounding Parliament Hill.
Some members of the convoy arrived in downtown Ottawa on Friday, ahead of a big rally on the Hill Saturday, with several big rigs, personal vehicles and protesters remaining since.
Several businesses remain closed due to the protest on Wednesday, including the Rideau Centre. The Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canadian War Museum and the Canadian Museum of History, which were supposed to reopen their doors Wednesday, announced they would remain closed until Feb. 9 due to ongoing disruptions.
Ottawa businessman and co-owner of Happy Goat Coffee Henry Assad said on CTVโs Your Morning Wednesday that they closed some of their locations downtown Ottawa for the safety of their employees.
โWhen the convoy started rolling into Ottawa and setting up shop in the city centreโฆgroups of the demonstrators were harassing employees and telling them to take their masks offโฆtalking to employees in an intimidating manner. The police showed up a few times, so we thought it would be a good idea to close down for now,โ Assad said. โThe staff have made it clear they donโt feel comfortable going to work.โ
Assad said he felt there was a โdouble standardโ with the trucker convoy, referring to how the police and city staff have been dealing with them compared to other protests. โI think the police need to do more, Iโve never seen Ottawa Police acting in such a manner for other demonstrations.โ
As for the protesters themselves, Assad said their attempts to help small businesses with their protest to end mandates, โare really hurting [them].โ
There is a police information briefing expected Wednesday afternoon to provide an update on the demonstration, but residents are becoming increasingly frustrated as protesters have been bringing in fuel and supplies to those who are hunkered down in their vehicles, allowing them to stay put.
There have been calls for Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and the Ottawa Police Service to do more to remove the convoy, after officials on Tuesday estimated the crowd to include approximately 50 people on Parliament Hill and another 200 nearby.
Some residents in Ottawa have reported being challenged on wearing masks by protesters and being assaulted while walking in their neighbourhoods.
