If you have no idea how a car works, it is a metal box that magically moves.
If you have no idea how reality works, it is a set of almost meticulously designed events (in that everything works), but "no one" knows why it works and "no one" knows what it is really made up of.
If you don't know how a car works and you put the wrong fuel in, the car still moves but starts degrading. Since you don't know how the car works, would you know that it's the fuel?
Possibly, if you realized that a change in fuel predicated the car running badly.
If someone told you that the car always ran with that fuel and that was beaten into your brain since you were young, then maybe you wouldn't realize it was the fuel doing it.
If you don't know how this particular fold of reality works, and someone is putting in misery and hate, and reality just keeps getting worse, but they tell you that misery and hate are a natural part of the world and have always been and is even necessary, then would you think that misery and hate were actually causing the harm?
Our reality, I believe, has been suffering from a feedback loop of corruption, partially made possible because we have been fooled as to what the true nature of reality is.
