EMTs should not be allowed to give people Midazolam (Versed). It does not relieve pain, it only causes ante grade amnesia. They use it so that they can control the patient. It is not used for the patient's benefit, but for the benefit of the medical personnel. They can pretty much do whatever they want to a person and the person will not remember it.
