Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) MP Cheryl Gallant grilled Liberal defence minister Anita Anand over the military’s disgraceful treatment of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who choose to not receive their COVID-19 shots.

During a meeting of the Commons national defence committee on Wednesday, Gallant accused the Trudeau government of going harder on unvaccinated soldiers than on convicted serial killer and rapist former CAF colonel and Russell Williams.

“Morale is at an all time low with Canadian Forces short thousands of members, yet even those who’ve had the first COVID inoculation suffered serious adverse reactions and had cardiologists recommend foregoing subsequent injections are sent packing without earned pensions and benefits,” said Gallant.

“Even Russell Williams was afforded his pension, so why are soldiers who’ve served honourably for decades being treated worse than a convicted serial rapist and murderer when it comes to refusing a new vaccine?”

Williams received two life sentences in 2010 related to the sexual assaults and murders of Jessica Lloyd and Marie Comeau. Williams was also sentenced for other sexual assaults, forcible confinement and breaking and entering. Despite his grave crimes, Williams was allowed to keep his military pension worth $60,000 a year.

Anand replied to Gallant’s question by reiterating the Trudeau government’s uncompromising belief in vaccines and its reliance on the advice of public health experts. Continue…

Poll shows trust in media, government at all-time low

he 2022 Proof Strategies CanTrustIndex has arrived, and it’s not looking good for the government or the legacy media.

Trust in traditional institutions has declined steadily over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the poll found.

The index surveyed over 1,500 Canadians from Jan. 4 to Jan. 14.

According to the survey, governments saw a 10% drop in trust over the course of 2021-2022. Currently, only 22% of Canadians saw governments of all levels as trustworthy – down from 32% last year.

The results come at a time when more and more people are expressing dissatisfaction with governments’ response to the pandemic and are increasingly calling for an end to restrictions.

Low trust impacted on all levels of government, with only 33% of Canadians seeing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as trustworthy. The premiers scored 32% on the index, while community mayors achieved 38% trust levels.

Meanwhile, traditional media continued to plummet as Canadians tuned out of legacy news sources. In 2022, only 35% of Canadians said they trusted traditional media, compared to 38% last year. Continue…

After trading barbs on Twitter for three days, prominent psychologist and author Dr. Jordan B. Peterson has told Trudeau crony Gerald Butts to go ahead and try to sue him for defamation.

“I gave Dr. Peterson three chances and a week to clean up his own room,” said Butts in a tweet on Wednesday. “He declined, so he’ll be hearing from my legal counsel shortly.”

Butts, who was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s principal secretary before resigning during the SNC-Lavalin scandal in 2019, said that all proceeds after legal fees are paid will be donated to women’s domestic violence shelters in Ottawa.

Peterson said that he is more than ready for Butts’s lawsuit.

“My defence is firmly in place, legal and financial, so we’ll both get a chance to air our dirty laundry,” replied Peterson. “And I wouldn’t count on having too much to donate to your charitable cause when the smoke clears.”

EFTO president Karen Brown believes the Freedom Convoy is 'white supremacist violence.'

As if lobbyists and unions have not exploited the pandemic pandemonium enough, the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (EFTO) is now meddling in the Freedom Convoy and urging the government to do something about it.

The open letter was addressed to Ontario Premier Doug Ford and signed by Karen Brown, the president of the EFTO.

Brown alleges that downtown Ottawa has “become unsafe” and that she is “deeply concerned about the exposure of children to racist and violent images.”

She goes on to say that “the trauma experienced, particularly by Black, racialized and Jewish students subjected to displays of Confederate flags and swastikas, will have lasting negative effects.”

Brown pluralizes the flag waving that protesters experienced differently — differently, just as Prime Minister Trudeau experienced the groping allegations against him in 2018 differently.

There was one instance of the Confederate flag on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, over two weeks ago, in a sea of thousands of Canadian and international flags. The flag yielder was the only person in a sea of protesters hiding their identity.

The provocateur was quickly denounced by protesters and told to leave.

Progressive Conservative Premier Doug Ford's office issued the following statement Thursday afternoon:

Today, the Attorney General brought an application in the Superior Court of Justice for an order pursuant to section 490.8 of the Criminal Code prohibiting any person from disposing of, or otherwise dealing with, in any manner whatsoever, any and all monetary donations made through the Freedom Convoy 2022 and adopt-a-trucker campaign pages on the GiveSendGo online fundraising platform.

The order binds any and all parties with possession or control over these donations.

In addition to the lifting of restrictions, Ontario announced on Thursday it was officially lifting a directive that paused surgeries and procedures that were put in place to limit hospital intake.

Amid widespread “Freedom Convoy” protests over vaccine mandates throughout Canada, Ontario’s top doctor says that a timeline for lifting every COVID-19 measure in the province is in the works. It could be ready as early as next week.

Speaking at a Thursday media briefing, Dr. Kieran Moore was asked when the public can expect an update on when measures, including mask mandates and vaccine passports, will be lifted.

Ontario’s previous timeline on lifting some public measures had an estimate of March 14, but masking and proof of vaccinations were not part of that timeline and have yet to be given.

TD Bank confirmed it had frozen accounts holding the cash in private accounts and is now applying to the Ontario Superior Court to accept the money, and will file an interpleader application that, if granted, allows the court to accept the funds and decide how to disburse it.

In a statement to the press, TD Bank said that it intends to give up money totaling $1 million from GoFundMe, as well as an additional $400,000 the truck drivers accepted through direct donations.

Housing prices are up, wages are not keeping up, and the cost of everything like food and gas are rising, and to top it all off, the Liberals have slapped a carbon tax on everything in the economy. How will more people add to those pressures?

A constable with the Edmonton Police Service made an emotional video expressing her support for the “Freedom Convoy,” while also addressing the Ottawa police officers who are being put in a tight spot in the current protest.

Elena Golysheva, an immigrant who has been with the police force for 17 years, said it saddened her to see the freedom of Canadians eroding by the day.

“My heart [has] been broken every day when I saw that the very freedom that I moved to Canada for has been taken away, and people, Canadians who lived here, who were born here, they were not recognizing that,” said Golysheva in her video message early this week.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, management at the Crown corporation asked for millions more in funds to avoid having to make “drastic cuts” in the Summary Of The 2021-2025 Corporate Plan presented in the House of Commons.

“Without sufficient and timely funding VIA Rail would be obliged to make drastic cuts which is a significant business and reputational risk exacerbated by layoffs, significant restructuring costs including employment security and severance payments and start-up costs when the service resumes,” claimed company staff.

According to WXYZ, delays reached 9 hours at Blue Water Bridge because the number of semis crossing through doubled.

A Freedom Convoy of truckers is now forming on the US side of the border at Blue Water Bridge that connects to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
