Liz Cheney Marks The Last Stand Of The Ancien Regime Republicans
February 04, 2022
Bush administration veterans, Never Trump remnants, and their new Democratic friends are trying to save her. But the effort is doomed.
If it were taking place 20 years ago, it would have been one of the top events on the calendar for Republicans. Once upon a time, a fundraiser sponsored by former Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne, with appearances by Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, Cheney’s faithful aide Scooter Libby, former Solicitor General Ted Olson, columnist Mona Charen, and a large number of wealthy donors, and hosted by veteran GOP heavy-hitter Bobbie Kilberg and her lawyer husband Bill at their Virginia home, would have been the sort of thing that anyone in the world of GOP officeholders, consultants, and fundraisers would have wanted to attend.
• But the March 14 shindig is taking place in 2022, not 2002. That makes the list of sponsors and guests the political equivalent of a baseball Old-Timer’s Game…
• But the event in question is not an exercise in nostalgia…
Cheney Struggles to Keep Her Seat
• Cheney is facing the fight of her political life as she attempts to fend off a primary challenge for renomination to her at-large House seat from Harriet Hageman, the lawyer and conservative activist who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Hageman has raised more than $1 million for her campaign to date and has benefited from fundraisers hosted by billionaire Paypal founder Peter Thiel.
• Cheney, who has seemed to grow angrier at her party… for its refusal to play along with the notion that Jan. 6 was an “insurrection” that threatened American democracy, is not going down without a fight. And she can count on other GOP celebrities…such as former President George W. Bush and former House Speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan, to assist her with fundraising.
Absurd Strategy
But the idea that the _2002 GOP All-Star team can compete against contemporary Republican__ withvoters who have long since repudiated their party’s ancien regime is an absurd strategy.
• The race is being spun by the liberal mainstream media as a case of a brave, principled conservative standing up against an army of GOP zombies who have sold their souls to Trump. Wyoming conservatives understand that Trump’s populist defense of the working and middle class is a better fit than one more in line with the interests of Wall Street.
• They think the Bushes exploited them while Trump fought for them.To the surprise of many, Trump wound up leading the most successful conservative administration in memory until it was brought down by a pandemicunleashed by China and a mainstream media/Big Tech alliance aimed at silencing the truth about Biden family corruption.
• Republicans, Even if they aren’t still questioning the 2020 presidential election results, most Republicans seem to comprehend that the real threats to democracy are the McCarthyite tactics of the Jan. 6 Committee that Cheney is helping to silence dissent on the Internet.
Cheney’s Rise and Fall
That Cheney’s fundraiser is being held in Virginia is something Hageman won’t fail to play up. A Jan. 6 Committee advisor also recently dropped his name from the host line-up.
• Cheney was on a fast track to House GOP leadership… her famous name to parachute into the party’s number three position — chair of the House Republican Conference — after only one term. That put her in line to be a future speaker of the House.
But like many other members of the old GOP elite, Trump’s ascendancy was too bitter a pill for her to swallow. While her voting record remained generally conservative, she seized on the Jan. 6 riot to go all in on impeachment and then in trafficking in conspiracy theories about the riot aimed at burning down the party for the sin of letting Trump lead it.
• That makes the Wyoming primary more a referendum on the Republican past which she represents… Her claim that she and the remnant of Never Trump allies backing her are the only legitimate standard-bearers for conservative values is not a viable political strategy in Wyoming or anywhere else. GOP voters have long since moved on from the Bushes and their family retainers..
• That’s why the Cheney re-election campaign is so rooted in the party’s past and her events have taken on the aspect of an ancien regime banquet in which pretenders to a throne lost in the past make-believe that they are about to return to power. They’re in for a rude awakening in August.

We Need More Suave Conservatives Who Call Out Corrupt Media's B.S.
When an ABC reporter asked Kari Lake, a Republican running for governor in Arizona, if she believed that Joe Biden is the president of the United States, the Republican knew just what to say.
“Well, he’s obviously sitting in the White House,” she responded calmly before asking the reporter, “Do you think he’s the president?”
The female reporter had no comment but that didn’t stop Lake from politely yet firmly asking whether she and ABC News thought the 2020 election was fair.
“The problem is that the American people don’t have all the answers because the media is part of the problem,” Lake said. “Media is not reporting it. Media has never reported our forensic audit fairly. They’re not reporting what’s happening in Georgia. They’re not reporting on these ballot traffickers that are being paid to drop off ballots. Media is doing a huge disservice to this country and the people aren’t getting the full story.”
Lake noted that this isn’t an isolated problem, it’s an orchestrated one.
“ABC News, CNN, MSNBC, spent more than three years lying to the American people saying that Russia colluded with Donald J. Trump to steal an election in 2016. And they knew that was false. They knew they were peddling lies and they did nothing to stop it. It was a complete hoax and it was a lie. And now they’re doing the opposite,” she said. “We have evidence of corruption in our election and they refuse to cover it. They refuse to be honest with the people of this country. It is disgusting what the media has done. And I think their days are numbered when it comes to surviving all of this. A business — when you’re lying to the people and you’re in media, it’s a bad business model.”
I don’t know much about Lake, but I do know that her response to the corrupt media’s twisted questions was perfect.
Lake called out the corporate media for what they are: perverted, prejudiced leftists who don’t care about Americans. As history shows, the corrupt press exists to serve Democrats, coastal elites, and their agendas. They are propagandists who aren’t afraid to lie through their teeth to get to the top.
We need more conservatives to recognize that the corporate media isn’t on the side of regular Americans and call them out for contorting narratives for political gain.
Former President Donald Trump gained his popularity during the 2016 primaries for calling out the “fake news.” Trump rose to the top of a crowded Republican primary by criticizing the fake new media, questioning their motives, and denouncing their lies. He was one of the few candidates willing to fight the enemy of the people, a characterization of the corrupt corporate media which 58 percent of Americans agreed with in a recent poll.
During his time in office, Trump made it clear that the corporate press was not on Americans’ side. He repeatedly noted their intentional efforts to undermine his presidency using the now-discredited Steele Dossier. He also called them out for regularly lying about his presidency and bashing his goals.
Even before Trump assumed office, people such as Sen. Rand Paul possessed and used the boldness required to fight the corporate media’s false narratives.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is another Republican who isn’t afraid to call out the media on their rubbish reporting. Last year, he vigorously defended his state when CBS’ “60 Minutes” fabricated a scandal about Florida’s Covid-19 vaccination plan. More recently, DeSantis called out the corporate media and Democrats for overhyping the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and using it as a tool to hoax more Americans.
“I think that this is something that has really been used for political narrative and posturing purposes. I don’t think it’s been effective,” DeSantis said last month. “People here in Florida, they care about inflation and they care about gas prices and education and crime. … There is an obsession with this amongst the D.C., New York journalist class and again I think it’s because it allows them to spin a narrative that they want to spin.”
Unfortunately, people like Trump, Paul, and DeSantis are still few and far between.
We need more suave Republicans who can remind the corrupt media of how out of touch they are. The corporate press needs to be held accountable for itsdisgusting lack of transparency and integrity and conservative politicians should use their platforms to do just that.

Some CNN guy saideveryoneknew about Zucker, does that mean they all knew about the two Pedo producers? They had to, so out of 1,000s employed at CNN never called the FBI or police?
Or did they make calls and nothing was done?I smell another Pedo doctor in Olympics cover up going on here.
Wouldnt be surprised if part of the Zucker resignation was to distract from Pedos on staff at CNN, there may be more
This is the guy that lead the Genocide of his South Africa countries people, and the genocide of billions around the world with Covid lies
Wowwww, “seriously people why wont you die already” is what hes saying
Are you the guy that called everyone a commie that you couldnt win and argument with, the other day?
You know what effect censuring congresss does???? Absolutely Nothing. Congress uses it to pretend to the public they are serious, when they all laugh behind the scenes. Basically they slap them on the hand and go back to corruption
