(pb, an anon asked)
>>15552280 Any anon attempting to archive speak of the hard drive space it’s taken so far to do so?
anon has about 200 GB in ~/Downloads/.
the script anon wrote that saves offline only adds, doesn't delete, so the backup ends up being a bit larger ("rsync -auxv").
anon has been Ctrl+S saving every bread (well, 1,602 of them; started late).
everything anon sees that "looks important" anon saves individually as well.
only 18 GB of the above-mentioned 200 GB is the 8kun/ folder with all the Ctrl+S bread saves.
saving stuff via Flameshot (to get the image as well as the words an anon wrote, if they're important/go together) as well as downloading images and videos and naming them appropriately.
not every Flameshot save do I dig into the filesystem and rename; have "lost" a lot of stuff that way, still have it but need to spend time going through and sorting/naming.
anon would pay to have feature added to Flameshot to "ask for filename every time, with default suggested."
anon adds the descriptive text to the beginning of the filename, so it still has a date/timestamp – so I really like and still want the default filename.
i.e., here's (a neat) one that I renamed, couple weeks ago:
"THE HIDDEN HISTORY, what if Mark Twain had played the role of Nikola Tesla - Screenshot from 2022-01-22 19-48-35.png"
Hope this helps!
