SPYING using National Security Letters?
Comey in past week stated publicly he authorized National Security Letters for intelligence gathering prior to the first FISA warrant against Carter Page in August 2016.
From my reading, the Patriot Act allows collection of Metadata under National Security Letters. It does not allow content disclosure without warrant. Questionable how a Confidential Information Source (spy) could legally be authorized under this vehicle.
Let's also remember that the FISC denied 5 FISA requests in June and July 2016 (on Page and 4 other campaign members) before finally approving the warrant on Page in August 2016.
